Okay so I'm watching Flex x Cop right now. And I finally watched episode 11.
(and I came straight to Tumblr to correct the misunderstanding the subtitles seem to have created.)
I know Disney+ subtitles are bad (let's not even talk about the disaster that is the subtitles for Moving). I know they are bad. But c'mon😫 atleast the easy things should be subtitled correctly.
So ep 11 has the famous scene that's everywhere right now. Isoo and Ganghyun in the villa of the cult leader.
So Isoo's subs go: "Everyone's worried about you. And I'm also your friend. Aren't I?" (This is wrong)
And Ganghyun doesn't reply. And everyone, everywhere is like, "Oh! Why didn't she reply?!?! She clearly trusts him, but he's not her friend?!?!?!"
Except Isoo never says that "Aren't I your friend?"
He says, with his hands on his chest, "Geurom Naneun? Naneun?!"
The correct translation would be(and this is actually romantic): "Then what about me? What about me?!"
See they are very close at this point. And they always move together on any case. Even though Junyoung and Ganghyun have been friends since a very long time, Isoo was the only one who knew that Ganghyun had gone away on a 'temple stay'. Ganghyun took him to her secret spot where she goes when she had a lot to think about. Isoo was the only one who knew where to find her when she was tensed about the case. Isoo thanked her because she basically gave him a place where he belonged by trusting him and not kicking him out. She can tell what next reckless thing he's planning with one look at his face. They go to work together. They have coffee together. They talk about food. This is more than romance. Familiarity. They trust each other completely now. Imagine what Isoo's going through if Ganghyun is not around. He never asks if he's her friend. That basically undeniably evident at this point.
So his lines actually go...
"You don't trust anyone, do you? Everyone's worried about you?... Then what about me? What about me?!"
And Ganghyun stays silent and stares at him because she doesn't have an answer to that. And Isoo stares back with that sad pouty face he makes. To which Ganghyun says, "that's enough".
But then she tells him to send pics to Junoung. Not for him to take it himself. Which means that she's ready for him to stay here with her...

I remain sad that more people aren’t watching The Secret Romantic Guesthouse. I’m thoroughly enjoying it.
I love love how San is all grumpy but with Dan Oh, particularly when they are alone, he is all cute smiles. The boy actually put his head on her shoulder when they were hiding in the little house.
While I’m 99.9% sure that San is Lee Seol, the show is actually a pretty decent job of having some slight doubt about his identity.
Shi Yeol is starting to interest me more and more. I’ve very curious about who exactly he is. I don’t think he is a Watchman. Plus I’m liking his budding romance with Hong Ju. It helps that he’s not acting like a total idiot anymore.
On the other hand, I flat out dislike Yoo Ha. I do not trust him.
The court/palace stuff is also interesting!
We have an insecure and unstable (mentally and in his position) king, who is quite violent
The Chief Administrator is more obsessed with finding the Watchman than Lee Seol, which makes sense story wise since the Watchman killed his son
The Left (Right??) State Administrator I think might actually be on the side of Lee Seol. I’m not entirely sure of his intentions or what he is expecting to achieve with supporting the secret group that Yoo Ha is in, but I get the sense he might be trying to keep things stable until Lee Seol returns (I may be WAY off on this)
I don’t know what the head Courtesan’s secret is but I do think she also knows exactly who Lee Seol is
Plus the king’s concubine is also is up to something
I am really hoping Ban Ya and Dan Oh become friends.

Yeah, Netflix-produced kdramas have huge budgets, fancy sets, high tech cameras, sleek cinematography, and big name actors, but do they have:
Dramatic tea slaps?
Evil stepsister ripping up and eating her paternity test results?
Very important shareholder meetings held in school auditoriums that are attended by maybe 20 people max?
Dramatic fights between father-in-law and daughter-in-law?
Tacky over the top fashion that screams "I'M EVIL!" in big flashing neon lights?
Dramatic close ups that make it seem like it'll take an eternity to hit the main character?
And last but not least, this gem of a woman who totally understood the assignment and is living her best campy evil stepmother life?
I didn't think so!

i just popped in to say i’m so… speechless. even though i don’t stan astro, it came as a shock to me. my heart literally dropped, he was so young... sending all my love to arohas and moonbin’s family, friends. i can’t even imagine what they are going through.
take as much time as you need to grief, cry; talk to someone. again, arohas, i’m sending you all my love and hugs.
