One Man Vs. The Whole World: Should He Be In or Out?
Tumblr media
When Arsenal feel the bottom of world fully with all fans, and players, and Wenger all together most of us think like ‘ok this season is messed up what about the future?’. Not only fans, the way of the footballers act in the field shows so that they have uncertainties in their minds too. It affects the football they're playing a lot. So we shouldn't have this suffer all together. Somebody has to come bravely and give us an announcement. As I don't know Arsenal without Wenger they have never been at Arsenal without Wenger as well. So the doubt is just normal for all. That is why I wanted to share my thoughts on the situation as well.Let's see what's gonna come out. 🤓 I know he doesn't like to be judged in the middle of the season but people talk and talk and talk. That's what we do.😜
There are so many questions to answer like; Is Wenger the same guy with the guy who has done the revolution at Arsenal when he first came in 20 years ago? Obviously Arsenal needs another revolution so can he do this again or do we need another guy? If Arsenal needs another one can ‘any’ another guy can do it? Or if Arsene is gonna stay how can he do it again? Etc, etc, etc,...
First ten years was magical. Nobody can question of that I guess. Arsenal was winning titles and doing with a ‘style’. Great football everybody was jealous of. That's still so important to Wenger. Time didn't change anything on his playing. He still wants to try winning matches with a style. That's beautiful thing. That's one of the things I'm proud of the team but Arsene always wants to go forward no matter what the score is or whoever Arsenal plays against that's why we get humiliated results lately. You wanna play like you dominate the game but obviously you do not and you get paid with the results. You have to play the game with your opponent and make a plan on that. It's ok to have a general philosophy on playing games but sometimes you have to change it for the opponent. Because results are matter too. And bad result drives people crazy😅
So later ten years when eventually all the patients are gone with people, now it's like Wenger vs the fans. In my opinion you can never question of what fans ask. Because football is an entertainment business so if you're in this job you have to win trophies. Trying or coming close isn't absolutely no chance. And you cannot blame Arsenal fans giving reactions after all these years, especially after last year coming extremely close and blow it up again. They want winning premier league titles, champions league titles and all that and more. That's nature of the sports. When they don't get it they show their frustration.
Although I think of this way I have questions of the protests. Arsene Wenger might not win premier league for more than ten years but still he has done great achievements and struggled a lot due to building Emirates stadium. He deserves more respect though. But if you don't protest how do they know you're not ok with what is going on? But right now it's going wilder and wilder and it questions me a lot. We have to know our boundaries while supporting our own football team as well. Everybody has an opinion, not everybody has to like Arsene Wenger but when you do tell your protests you have to do it with respect. Especially for someone like him.
One of the things everybody questions of his lack of transfers. It drives me crazy too 🙄 Back in the glory days Wenger surely wasn't like this. Most of all know it was because of his friend and the guy David Dein. But he lost his friend at Arsenal when he needed him most. (it's always like this. Isn't it?) 😅 There's a new stadium building and there's no millionaire money for Arsenal and they go banks for money. So everything eventually become expensive for Arsenal. They couldn't not afford the starts. But on the hand money is uprising on football while Arsenal has to low down expenses. It's not a good situation for a manager. Managers wouldn't care about money in my opinion. But thankfully Arsene had a degree on economics. (So ironic 😅) So he was the perfect guy for Arsenal. Another reason he didn't want to leave before. But of course you can't win trophies with building stars when they have to face the great starts of all world. Even Arsene knew it would be like this's why he thinks attending champions league every year is kind of a trophy. Imagine this; he has to move Henry to Gervinho or Chamakh. He used to have very strong players in every places now I thank god if we have just 2-3 players with top form of theirs.
So why the hell Arsenal signed so many unnecessary and useless footballers? With all scouting and looking for players how the hell do they wrong? Wenger can't go and search and monitor every single player they look up to. So it's another people’ job even though in the end Wenger has the final say. But it's kind of forcing final say because generally whole summer they fail the sign perfect players for Arsenal and Wenger wish list. Then in late August after the league starts they have a ‘panic buy’. Wenger denies it so many time but I think he protects the board with saying this.
But the problem for fans isn't the money struggle years. “After Gazidis told everyone that we have money but there's still lack of transfers.” is the problem. The Arsenal board is full of stupid people in my opinion. If you tell everyone you have money and go for shopping it's gonna cost you much more. And if you say this media isn't gonna help you too. There's then headline stories always like this 'Arsenal to spend 200 million’ every single summer. In the end they buy 2-3 players around 30-40 million. So even the board says they have money they still have boundaries on spending. As we know Wenger back in the years he's not ashamed of spending money and he always tells this. So with all the transfer issues about Suarez, Higuain or many more. Wenger isn't the one who has to get it done. He can only help the players to convince and he does it. It's the board who has to get it done and yet they don't. Arsene Wenger is the only one who has to face up with media and fans. He tells what board is doing and calls it ‘we’ then we the fans blame Arsene Wenger. The board uses him like a shield so they don't want him to go. That's why they always give him a new contract. With all fairness of course Arsene asks for more money.
Wenger wants give more money for his players too. Because when he first came in he just fixed everyone’ contract as the players admit. So right now why are Arsenal players earn so much behind than other club footballers especially when they say they have money? We can't blame wenger in this too. It's board who negotiates with players and convince them to stay. I'm sure Wenger talks to the players and tell them to stay but they leave anyway due to money or other issues but so most of the leaves didn't cause because of Wenger. Otherwise we know Wenger knows when to let go players when they're no longer in his plans.
There's only one problem with Wenger on the transfer policy and the contracts in my opinion: he doesn't stand up for the board. I mean he has to show that he wants certain players no matter what. Clubs are crazily spending money and I don't like it either but that's how it is now. And you gotta do it like that too. Arsenal isn't the one who is gonna stop this. There are football associations for this kind of things. So if Wenger or the board wants to stop it they can go to run UEFA or FIFA. Wenger has to show the “ambition” not to us but the board like telling we're not being Robin Hood, we're being stupid. So Wenger isn't innocent in the end as well.
Another problem is caused by the transfer policy and Wenger’ delusional idea of having a tiny tight squad. And we do have so many problems with injuries. So I do get the idea Arsene want a small group of people close each other. The tight squad causes injuries for sure even I think players get in form with how much they play matches. They aren't made up iron too so their bodies fails. I don't understand why he's so obsessed with the small group idea. 5 players more isn't gonna ruin the dressing room fully. But after losing players having and bad results cause problems at dressing room. If you want to have a tight squad then fix the injury problems like trainings and tactics and all that, leave it only be tiny squad. As we know so many people criticise Arsenal training routines. Some of them makes sense like pushing players harder in trainings than matches. And our medical team.. I don't know whether what is they tell Wenger or it's wenger who doesn't listen them there's something wrong with them. And it's damn obvious. 🙄 So as Wenger says he tries to be up for the training and tactics area but I really don't think so with the results. I think he's coming behind of the new fast football area.
When it comes to dressing room and the ‘cohesion’ with players. Wenger wants a strong defend and very creative midfield and amazing forward. But since he doesn't have these right now. The huge missing point is leaders. There's no such player at the moment to give the other players to push and moods up. They're lacking communication in my opinion. Even though they seem to be good collieges but they don't help development for the team. And talk to Wenger about it. Some people think it's Wenger to choose these players. But when you choose a player you look at the way he plays you can't know the off pitch character so it's a bit about luck. I'm sure Wenger realises the lack of leaders but he never blames the players and always protects them. And it's annoying. Everybody has to take their responsibility. He's over believes in the players. So Wenger isn't a guy shows their players what to do. He expects them to do it with their own. So in the bad situations like this It's down more players than him to have season turning over with his attitude. In many perspectives it's good and bad for the team at the same time. So Wenger gambles this one too.
So Wenger believe in these players a lot too much. The players let him down a lot. They don't show the communication and ambition for the club and the game. These players are so lucky to have a manager like this and try to play a beautiful game but they don't show enough characters. They don't live the game. Once I read if you don't think of what your dream enough you can't act that way in your life. So these players doesn't think of winning enough. He listens some ideas of he players if they come. This season I always waited for that. Things started to go wrong when we lost Everton and Man City at the same week. Since that I was waiting maybe the players could do something or it's Wenger there's could be something to make them up again. It didn't happen.
The media shows that fans forgive him when he gets the champions league spot. But actually it is media to react that way. When Arsenal having a bad run and the season is going down they say they can't change the season over then somehow Arsenal does it and now it's down to Arsene Wenger and shows like it's a huge thing. And Wenger uses the media when they react this way. Even though the media goes harder on him as well some time to time but he manages the media too. Over 20 years he's the only face in the media for Arsenal so he has a lot experiences. Even though Wenger can't do it any better than Mourinho or Ferguson. He does it well enough too. It's part of the job. He gotta show that he doesn't get enough credit and I thought he didn't get it till last season. After last season losing the league isn't an Improving. It's just Wenger’ team huge fault.
After all these things happening in Arsenal of course it wasn't like this at all with Arsene Wenger. If he ever leaves he's gonna leave Arsenal a new stadium, new academy, great training centre, potential players and there's money to spend. So what he has done with Arsenal is amazing. Not so many managers can do. And he was damn patient with all of these. You never see him talking behind of anyone from Arsenal including all the players and coaches he works with. So he deserves a great credit. He's such an amazing manager so with his new club I'm sure he'll be damn successful even in his first or second season. He's such a great football vision. But it's doesn't work with Arsenal anymore. Because of the players, and the board and Arsene himself. I'm sure Arsene wouldn't think he would have a situation like this ever. Because he loves the club so much. After Arsenal won 2014 FA Cup everybody thought it was gonna be new revolution at Arsenal and it was gonna be Wenger again. At that time I was so sure he wanted leave but not like this but he wanted to leave on top. He didn't see 2014 fa cup for the top way of leaving. He thought he's gonna do more and it'll be better for Arsenal. He had everything he wanted as he thought at that time. That's why he wanted to stay 3 more seasons. And after 3 years here we are now. I tried to tell you why the 3 years wasn't like this as Arsene thought it would be. So Wenger is disappointed too. Since the start of the season he gives signals to leave. He's never been like this before. It's not only about Arsenal not winning anymore, it's about his career and reputation as well.
What's gonna happen to Arsenal if Wenger leaves? Wenger leaving is the only solution? For sure it's not. But some fans want him to leave just for change. And it's understandable. Because obviously there's so many things wrong with Arsenal. So we can't tell to sack the board and Kroenke or whole bunch of players to go. Wenger is the one who can leave. So they call Wenger Out. But whoever come is gonna make a change? No again. The manager who will take over Arsenal has to be strong mentality with the board and give some boost to players and be a visionary. But Arsenal won't get trophies soon enough like Wenger if he leaves. Because new manager to suit on premier league and wi a club like this many issues. It's not gonna be easy for any other guy.
In the end my final say Wenger has to leave, there has to be something done. And right now this is the least everybody can think of. And it's gonna be better for Arsenal and the best for Wenger. I'm a huge fan of Wenger despite all the critics I think of him. I wish the best for him. I'm sure he's gonna win the Champions league he's missing someday but not here and hopefully not before Arsenal 😜 Hope he doesn't go with heart broken because of the bad way of protests. He's done so many great things for the club. I hope one day their ways cross again together.
