When we visited Antelope Canyon, we did both the upper and lower canyon tours. We started early in the morning and it was so neat to see how the canyon changed over the course of the morning. This was taken early in the day before the sun was overhead. But by 11:00 or so, the canyon was a beautiful, glowing orange and red!
If you’re trying to catch the light beams that you see in the IG pics, you’ll need to be there around noon. It’s also the busiest time if day (and the most difficult reservation to get!) Unless you’re a photographer, I don’t think it’s worth it. It really is beautiful all day long! . . . . . . . . . .

Long star trails stretch across the sky above our tent in White Sands during this 7 hour long exposure on film.  This park becomes incredibly quiet at night as they close the gates completely and only the few people who are willing to backpack into the dunes get to stay in the park.

Tar Hollow State Park Wildlife
Tar Hollow State Park, located in southern Ohio, is home to many small creatures including numerous amphibians and even a few reptiles, including the rare and endangered timber rattlesnake. While I wasn’t lucky enough to spot a rattlesnake, there were a few ring-necked snakes and more salamanders than  I could count.
This is fertile salamander habitat with numerous salamanders found on the forest floor and around the streams.  Young salamanders, about the length of my thumbnail, can be seen swimming along the edges of the streams as well.

This 144-Year-Old Wisteria In Japan Looks Like A Pink Sky
These stunning photographs, which look like a glorious late evening sky with dashes of pink and purple, are actually pictures of Japan’s largest wisteria (or wistaria, depending on whom you ask) plant.
This plant, located in Ashikaga Flower Park in Japan, is certainly not the largest in the world, but it still comes in at an impressive 1,990 square meters (or half an acre) and dates back to around 1870 (the largest, at about 4,000 square meters, is the wisteria vine in Sierra Madre, California). Although wisterias can look like trees, they’re actually vines. Because its vines have the potential to get very heavy, this plant’s entire structure is held up on steel supports, allowing visitors to walk below its canopy and bask in the pink and purple light cast by its beautiful hanging blossoms.
