I do this thing were if I don't like the characterizations of certain characters in a fanfic I click out of it without sending the author hate comments. RIP insensitive assholes but I'm different.

It's so weird the half-hearted attempts my family make. The ones who aren't shitty enough to be blocked (aunts, uncles, sibling, grandparent, etc) but are people I don't really bother much with because it's only ever me who reached out to them before and I just don't have the space in my head for one-sided relationships. Once every 3-4 years they'll just suddenly remember my birthday and I'll get a card or text. I just sorta wonder what they think each time. What makes them think 'oh I should send a card' after several years of silence? Is it the sudden realisation that the yearly Christmas and birthday cards and presents I sent have stopped coming?

Idk. Just weird af to me 😂 I don't expect anything and the cards are always nice. But at this point half of them are so disengaged from my life they don't even know I have a child or, if they do, don't even know her name 😂
