small group of college students who becomes the sole link the autobots have to humanity and have to learn the importance of responsability along the way and figure out what they truly want to do with their lives
13-to-17 troubled child who, and this is very important, develop a familial relationship with giant robots from outer space. (bonus points if they're decepticons for once) (bonus bonus points if this turns into a crossfaction found family)
overworked single mother whose old car just recently broke down on top of multitudes of other problems and when life gives you a free random brightly-colored lamborghini, you welcome it into your family when it turns into a friendly war criminal who invites its friends over
elderly man living away from civilization who accidentally has to adopt a couple of millions of years old robots, occasionally exchanges nuggets of wisdom with Optimus Prime

Ill never get over these few seconds here. Ratchet refuses to let Ultra Magnus depart from the base after recovering from his lost servo, and Optimus, albeit sadly, agrees on his behalf and Magnus' best interests to stay behind...but look at Wheeljack's face during thie exchange. He is genuinely concerned and actually now sees Magnus' potential. Wheeljack now looks at his second in command rather respecfully after what they have been through....almost as if he shares the same pain.... Noone else in the team seems to display their concern.
*We need him*
And then who should come to Ultra Magnus' aid when Ratchet almost refuses him to leave a second time during the same episode?
Wheeljack. Now defending Magnus by stating 'The commander 's ready'
This is just a whole new level of wow....Jackie goes from dismissive, and reckless to outright soldier, hero and ally throughout the entire series. He grows up and adjusts with time, just like Arcee tells him to for his own sake....his development and bond grows. He's not just a wrecker....he's a friend.
