hyejin softly knocked on mike’s bedroom door , careful not to drop the tray of food in her hands. ‘ mike ? are you busy ? can i come in ? ’ she sounded unsure , hoping she wouldn’t be too big of a bother. with hyun gone , hyejin had spent some more time in the living room , hoping to get some quality with mike. however , the past few days she noticed how he had been holed up inside his bedroom , only coming out at odd times. ‘ i brought you dinner. m’not sure when you last ate so i made you some soup among other stuff. ’
this terrible feeling looming over mike was worse than he remembers it being. he’s been so happy and carefree recently, that this rejection seemed to have knocked the wind out of him and threw him back into the darkness of his room where he liked to lock himself up whenever this mood - although sparse - hit. now laying in bed under the sheets with his phone’s screen glaring at him, mike scrolled through twitter after deciding that he just couldn’t sleep anymore. the knock surprised him, and for a moment, he forgot that he wasn’t alone in this apartment. he listened, and he suddenly felt bad for avoiding his own roommate and only coming out at odd times to not run into her and let her see him like this. he sighed and got up, taking the first shirt he could find near him and putting it on. “... you didn’t have to.” he spoke once he unlocked the door and looked at the small girl, his voice a little hoarse from barely using it. “but thank you.” he grabbed the tray, and walked back into his room, leaving the door open. “you can come in if you want.”

“huh?” mike stopped in his tracks on the sidewalk and turned around to look at the person calling him. well... there goes his effort into trying to avoid his cousin. the tall, dark haired boy had nothing against her at all, really. he was just so awkward when it came to family members he wasn’t very close to. so he stood there awkwardly for a few seconds, watching as rosalie caught up to him. “oh, hey... i’m sorry. i didn’t see you.” he did, in fact, see her. “do... do you need help carrying those? they look heavy.”

as per usual standards bo had become the proud owner of a tequila gun that he used on several of the people around him, friends as stranger, waving their colourful flags around. “ oh it’s not just the tequila gun that’s back! “ he said in a mischievous tone, looking up at mike with a single wiggle of his brows, “ the lemon juice is here too! “ he pulled out a small squeezable bottle of concentrated lemon juice, all good and ready to go for that squirt of relief to chase the tequila with.
“oh?” his eyes widened. “... oh! you’re- man, you’re crazy.” michael shook his head. he knew he shouldn’t even be surprised. “how the hell do you keep getting these ideas!?” it wasn’t even a question, but more like amazement from mike, as per usual. “can i have the first squirt again??” he asked, like a child at a candy store.

looking up from her book, hana spotted mike waving from a little ways down the beach. she tucked her bookmark securely into place before dropping it by her side, giving him a smile in return as he approached. a quick shake of her head. “no, not busy at all,” she replied with a light shrug of her shoulders. “wanna join me?” she asked, eyebrow raising ever so slightly as she patted the empty space on her left.
with a little happy smile, he nodded and sat next to hana. sometimes mike wondered if he was being a little too obvious with how he acted around hana, and he hoped that wasn’t showing. he finds it embarrassing how nervous and smiley he gets. “how have you been?” he asked, looking away from the sea and at hana. “not overworking, are you?”
