Hook thought on this a moment; did this warlock want him to go find Queenie and swim? Restorative waters being code for how she made him feel when he was with her? Seemed a bit odd, but he knew the man had eyes everywhere, so maybe this was his way of telling him that he was on the right path with her. “I will consider it,” he commented, wondering just what it would do.
“Time to go....” he offered. “ I have other things to tend to then to upset her. “ he replied as he made his way towards the forests edge. There was a story to be discovered, and it was time to walk in the dreams of others for a hint as to how the story would end.

Hook considered this final statement. He couldn’t be more right in that regard; it seemed every time he got caught up in some tangle of a woman, he ended up forgetting his path, or giving up a chance to do something at their behest, or making him forget just how miserable he was for a little bit. “True you are,” he stated soberly, shaking his head.
“Do mind what I said though old friend..... it’s a good night for a swim.” He had already said more than he intended, given a glimpse as the crows owner and why it was far too much involvement for his taste.

Hook nodded in agreement of Mikael’s statements, and smothered a grin as a dick joke came to the forefront of his mind at the second one. “Yes, well, that is quite true.” He replied, cocking his head to the side. “Infuriating creatures, and yet,” he commented, sighing. “So beautiful.”
“Indeed....... fresh as a flower with the bite of a snake.” he admits. Mikael had long forgone the pleasures of women. Their warmth was not for him to enjoy though he yearned for that connection once again.
“But..... they are a distraction.”

Hook laughed once, shifting on his feet as he nodded in agreement. “Right you are, Mikael, right you are,” he shook his head. He’d never understand the bloody species.
“They have something that men inherently lack.” he offered with a knowing smile. Things he’d wished he’s known once upon a time. There was always something to be said for their capacity to love, to hold a grudge, something he truly did not understand for centuries. “As men have something they inherently lack.”

Hook glowered at the revelation, but decided not to allow it to consume him just yet. “I don’t understand why she insists on getting in the way at every fucking turn,” he muttered, shaking his head.
Mikal raised a brow before deciding to sit on that little nugget of an answer. It seemed obvious to him why she interfered but he was going to keep quiet. “Oh my old friend, women will always be a mystery.”

He should’ve known that she’d choose that stupid little brat over him. A mood like a dark cloud hovered over him, and he barely registered what Mikael was saying until a moment after. “I’m sorry, after whatever who did?” He asked. While he was irritated with Darling, he didn’t like the sound of his son having done something to harm her. Not without his permission, anyway.
Mikael could see the mood darkening over James, while not his intention he knew one thing well: information was power.
“Oh yes..... you see I watched from my perch Wendy save the former lost from bleeding to death with the aid of your boy.” he shrugged. “The woman was intent on getting to you by the stars I know not why, but I do so wish to learn.”

Hook frowned at Mikael’s response. It was clear to him who it was; there was only one careless enough to do such a thing, one person who had no respect for the traditions and protocols for battle, one person that Hook could believe Pan would drop everything for. “Wendy,” he muttered, scratching at the scruff on his jaw.
“Strange though isn’t it..... that she would crow.” he offered his brows furrowing in faux confusion. “I know her to be sympathetic to your plight..... whatever Blake did must have held more weight.”

James arched a brow. These magic folk sure had a flare for the dramatic. “Okay…so why did they crow?” He asked, unsure how that would mean anything to him if he didn’t also know who it was that Peter left in the middle of a fight for.
He looked towards James with an amused air .
“To make it stop.” he answered with a smirk. He enjoyed this new presence, that strove to stop the wars and bloodshed, as futile as it was. “To make it stop........ but someone wouldn’t let them get to you or your rival...... so they improvised apparently.”

He hummed in agreement. “And how it stopped on the wing of a crow.” Mikael knew Pan was of a singular sort. That he had abandoned his quest was no surprise a child’s attention so short, but what drove the girl to crow peaked the mans curiosity more than he’d admit.
James gave a slight nod; he too had been curious as to who had been so important to stop Peter in the middle of a heated battle with him. “Mm, I wonder about that crow,” he commented thoughtfully. “Do you have any clues on who it was?”
“Tsk tsk old friend..........you know better.” He almost grinned. “You are asking the wrong question.” Mikael pointed out softly. “Doesn’t matter who, when the why is do deliciously interesting.”

“Oh yes……” he agreed softly to both the ripples, and the magical mischief. “That is the right word…. mischief. But it’s not just the witches getting into mischief now is it?”
“I assume that you are implying the wreckage laid out upon the port by the lost boys?” James commented, cocking a brow. He had no doubt that Mikael knew the goings on of the island like his less kind mistress, Helena.

There was a sparkle in James’ eye when Mikael asked what tip. They always had an understanding, and that was what kept them neutral. “Ah yes, of course,” he commented, giving a slight nod of respect. “What have you been up to lately, old friend?”
“Watching as always.” he replied as if it was the same answer he always gave and it usually was, though something on this day compelled Mikael to include James on his thoughts. “I don’t like change. I like balance, the status quo, the consistency. Witches messing with humans, pirates fighting the lost boys. And on and on the wheel goes.......”

Free and helpful advice was a rare thing indeed, but it seemed that Mikael was being quite generous with this. “Well,” he mused, considering it for a moment. “I mean, who isn’t troubled on this island?” James asked, cocking his head to the man. “A dip in restorative waters might do me good. Thanks for the tip, mate.”
“What tip?” he questioned, it was a code of honor. James would never speak of this moment, and Mikael would deny it ever occured. He wouldn’t outright stop Helena from her fun, but he knew her power without the full moon and that would be damage enough to his psyche. No doubt she would chalk up James’ swim to some pirate superstition or pilgrimage and hopefully lrea.
“We all have our codes...mate.” he mimicked James’ last word softly.

James frowned in confusion at Mikael’s words, but not taking them lightly. From the years that Hook had known him, Miki had never been one to say things flippantly. “Oh yes?” Hook wasn’t sure if he was telling him of his plans for the evening, or if he was instructing him to go for a dip himself. “Now is that a prescription, or just your general thoughts on the matter?” Hook asked, tilting his head slightly.
“A prescription for those who are troubled.” he offered with a glance towards James. “Since you are not troubled.... perhaps you could pass the message to someone who is?”
He offered with a tilt of his head. Mikael knew James had a pride about him. He would never admit to a weakness, but he often looked out for Mikael’s interests. Never had his shop been raided, and he wondered how much of it was his reputation and how much of it was James warning them to stay away.

James arched a brow; he didn’t have much patience with warlocks and the like, but he knew he should be careful; they were an unpredictable bunch. “Ah, and what am I to be troubled with, hm?” He asked, a bit facetiously, but to keep things light.
“That I know not.” he offered with sincerity moving towards the docks humming softly. “Merely an observation.” Mikael continued with a hint of something else in his voice. Looking to the sky he sighed with a smile.
“Might be a good night to swim in the waters of skull rock....full moon.” he hummed. “A powerful night for witches..... ..” Water was one thing Mikael loved, it was cleansing, healing, memory, and the source of life. He could not out right warn Hook, or tell Hook of his suspicions but he could nudge him to protect himself in little ways. Up to James to get over his prejudice and listen. “Yes, a midnight swim in sacred waters would do anyone good me thinks.”

James turned around slowly at the man’s voice, knowing full well who it belonged to. It had only taken a few instances for him to realize that the visions he had been receiving had been born from witchcraft. “Ah Mikael,” Hook sighed, taking the man in. “It’s been too long.”
“Has it?” he retorted rhetorically. “I can never tell....time, so funny here one forgets.... one remembers.”

“You look troubled old friend..... and for troubled man to look troubled is saying something.” His accent almost Scottish like Smee’s but older..... a hint of accents from everywhere boiling in his speech it was singular to him and him alone.

“Isn’t it so funny how one little ripple changes everything.” Mikael commented behind the great Captain Hook with a devilish grin, and subtle chuckle. “The tide comes in and changes the landscape of the shore.”
