The soft shoulder
Tumblr media
Diving deep in to the different tailoring styles. Did you know that there exist big traditional differences between Naples, Milano, Florence and Rome?
On this journey we visited different tailors and even more stylistas that had their own opinion on the Italian menswear culture. Posing in front of the camera is Lino Leluzzi, Simone Righi, Luca Rubinacci and Andrea Luparelli. The story ended up as a 11 pages long cover story for the Norwegian financial weekend supplement D2. Text by me, and photography by Simon Skreddernes.

Meeting Dries Van Noten
Tumblr media
Looking at Dries Van Noten a/w 2012 today reminded me of how complicated his creations are. The word "subtle" is not worthy. Nor "flowerprints" or "drapes". And i`ts almost impossible the explain his genius to a reader, not in the "know how". I wish I could walk more around in his warehouse. This is a interview I did with him for the norwegian weekend magazine D2 in the summer 2010. Photo by Lars Botten.

The outsiders
Tumblr media
Every month I write a “Petit” for the norwegian paper Natt & Dag. A petit is something between an essay and chronicle I guess?
Noticed how fashion weeks have become a pure sircus for amature bloggers eating off their own prey? This is a text on how the bloggers have lost their innocence, having created a whole new game outside the fashion show - whom used to belong to Bill Cunningham. Send an email to [email protected] if you want an english version.

Jean Touitou...talking extensialism @ Cafe de Flore
Tumblr media
A year ago I had the opportunity to sit down with Jean Touitou and eat breakfast with his little family. We ended up talking about the pollution, hipster culture, Andy Warhol chineese people, Samuel Beckett and contract killers. Unfortunatly the first picture (by Steffen Oftedal) did not publish in the story. This is for the norwegian weekend supplement D2. www.d2.no

What you see, is what you get.
Tumblr media
In my monhtly "petit" in Natt & Dag magazine, I wrote about fashion and politics, and how fashion never seem to be important to some people as it is not political or telling an important story. I totally disagree! Reminiscing back to the nineties when sportswear and workwear told stories about the misunderstood youth, social differences and played an important signifier on who you were and where you came from.
The story was inconveniently to be published right after the tragic events of 22/07, and therefore the picture above did not publish at all. Styling and text by me, photos by Kjell Ruben Strøm.

"Dom kallar oss Mods"
Tumblr media
This is the first ever, and probably last photo that I will have published in a magazine. As we needed to use the tattooed hands by the photographer (Steffen oftedal, I needed to step in as a photographer. My guess is that it probably will be Steffens first and last carreer move as a model as well.
This was a shoot for N&D a year ago, the title was "Dom Kallar oss Mods" refering to the swedish  documentary directed by Stefan Jarl. He lived with the two outcast rebelles Kenta and Stoffe for 1.5 years. It´s a really nice documentary on the scandinavian drug policy. But I never quite understood why it´s called "Dom kallar oss Mods"? The mod culture had a total different aproach to drugs, and fashion as well. So I used the reference to write an article on todays hipster culture and it´s similarities with mod culture - always evolving in style. I also did the styling, and Steffen Oftedal shot the photos. "Skal vi røka eller krøka? Eller hva faen ska vi hitta på?"
