i just wanna spend two very quick very garbled words for he cheng because this last special chapter gave me feelings for him which are mostly of the sad kind

i have to admit both he brothers make me very sad on a daily basis, even if for different reasons, but at least for he tian i know that despite everything he always had and always will have his brother looking out for him, and now he also has friends who genuinely care about him, which doesn't diminish what he tian went through or the loneliness he felt growing up, of course, but it also gives a way more hopeful light to his future, which is not exactly what i can say for he cheng

don't get me wrong, im not trying to compare them or their traumas, or saying whose got it worse, i just really feel bad for he cheng because i feel like we all tend to see he tian's pain, but it's hardly ever mentioned how hard things must have been and still be for he cheng

we don't really know much about the he family as of now, so a lot of things are just my personal speculations, but he tian wasn't the only one who (presumibly) lost his mom, and it's true that he cheng was older when that happened, so in a way he got to have her in his formative years, while he tian had to grow up without her, but on the other side he also had a lot more memories of her and he kinda had to fill in her shoes as well after she was gone

he basically raised he tian by himself, with their father probably being very absent and very strict in the few moment he bothered to acknowledge them (see: their father telling he cheng to get rid of the dog he tian saved), and since then he always had to be a sort of middleman between them, torn between the respect he has for their father and the love he has for he tian

i also think that he cheng being there, as the older brother, made things easier for he tian in a lot of ways, because of course their father still had expectations for he tian, but being the first child comes with even more pressure for those to be met, and i don't think that he tian would have been able to walk away as easily if he cheng hadn't been there to shoulder a lot of them

im not saying he cheng didn't have a choice, because he had, there is always a choice, and unlike he tian who decided he didn't want anything to do with the kind of life their father wanted for him, he cheng chose to go through with it, when imho he should have just taken he tian and tell their father to go fuck himself, but i know it's not that simple, and even if he knows their father is wrong in many aspects (the fact that he probably kept the dog is proof of this) i can understand why he cheng can't just turn his back on him

it's just sad to me because to this day he cheng is still trying to mend things between he tian and their father, to put back together the remains of his family, which is the only thing he has left, but that sadly i don't think he will ever be able to 'fix' (because their father is an asshole but i digress)

there are just so many things he cheng had to go through all by himself and still has to carry the weight of, and it just makes me wonder if he has someone to help him with that (you know.. like qiu) and if he will ever be able to get away from that life as well

but yeah i don’t think this is going to come as a surprise for anyone, i feel like the state of my blog is enough of an indication of which is my favorite pairing in 19 days, and you know, i didn’t want to be predictable in answering these, but what else am i supposed to do, just sit here and pretend i don’t wail dramatically while wandering my apartment at 3 a.m. wrapped in my bed sheet and holding my phone like the equivalent of 18th century fully lit candelabra as soon as i think about them???? i mean i could, but mama raised no liar

i feel like i already talked many times about why i like and ship them so much, and i don’t wanna turn this into one of my usual essays, so instead of analysing them and trying to explain why i think they are an amazing ship, im just going to be sentimental for a moment and admit that while there are tons of reasons for them to be my favorite pairing, they also just simply make me incredibly happy. there are very few ships i ever liked in my fandom life that made me so excited and look forward to new content so religiously as tianshan does, they make me want to write and be creative and share thoughts and feelings with people to the point of probably being embarrassing and annoying, which is also the reason why i came back after two years of being MIA, it’s really so hard for me to contain myself about them because there are just so few things that make feel so alive, and maybe it’s actually sad that one of those things is a 2D pairing, but hey, life is too short to pretend we don’t like things that brings us joy

so yeah, catch me at age 70 still bawling my eyes out about them

7. Least favorite pairing: this is kinda hard for me to answer because while there are ships i don’t really like (see any pairing with she li as of now), i also don’t particularly mind them?? maybe it’s because i actually don’t see that much content about ships that aren’t tianshan and zhanyi (would personally do with more qiucheng tho, just saying *coughs* i mean what), and we also know they are the two canon pairings, so it doesn’t really bother me to see people enjoying different ships as long as everyone is being repectful of each others

i don’t want to leave this unanswered, tho, so if i had to pick one… [ponders the two choices she has] …i guess im going with he tian/jian yi, if only because i enjoy their friendhsip as it is. i also have to admit i can’t really see the appeal of it, maybe because i don’t think he tian was ever in love with jian yi to begin with, i just feel like he saw in jian yi someone who could understand him in some way and help him navigate through the darkness, like he tian calls it, but jian yi never was and never could have been what guan shan is to he tian, and i think this was made abundantly clear by now imho. also for he tian and jian yi to happen you would have to break up both main couples, which would break some of the characters’ heart, no matter how you imagine it going, and that’s something  i never want to see happening

it was also kind of weird to me to see some people bringing back this ship after chapter 292 just because he tian seemed to be resting his head on jian yi’s shoulder, when it’s obvious to me that he was talking to guan shan anyway, so yeah, i guess at this point it just doesn’t make much sense to me, and like he tian himself said:
