Healing can be a hard process. We may feel frustrated that we’re not “better” yet. Please show yourself kindness and patience. There is no time line for healing.

Whoever makes you feel like you’re stupid for being excited or happy, or threatens that things that make you happy can be taken away at any point, deserves to be hauled away never to be seen again. Who the hell are they to rob you of your fundamental human joy and happiness. You all deserve your happiness to be celebrated and supported.

Your trauma is still valid even if the person who caused it didn’t mean to cause it. 

I don't even know what specifically the repzilla stuff is about if it's recent because I've unsubbed a while ago but I was looking on tumblr bc he talks about jacklyn Glenn and Blair white as if they're all friends and those two are NOT lgbt friendly. They've both said horrible things about nonbinary people. I bet he wouldn't have so many stans if everyone connected those dots.

Oh and also him using extremely triggering pictures of EC in the thumbnail like I'm just minding my own business, NOT thinking about my ed and he keeps posting crap like that. I asked him before to not do that because what's the point in a trigger warning if you're shoving my trigger in my face already? (Only nicer) But he still did it, shortly after that too. He's fake. Arrogant. Pretentious. Idk if he's changed or just stopped hiding his real self.

Oh dang, the repzilla stuff you're mentioning is from the whole mess with the rewired soul. Rep loves getting his stans to attack other people on twitter. I was pretty nice in my tweet to him and the gang-up that ensued and that he fueled was ridiculous. It seems like so many people have forgotten the shit he's done and are back to calling him a reliable source? Laughable.

When I was a Christian, I had a hard time making decisions. I was taught to distrust my feelings, to take my thoughts captive, and to wait for signs from God for every decision. I was robbed of all of the tools I needed to make decisions. After deconverting, I am able to exercise my own agency without feeling fear, guilt, or shame.

One of the strongest indicators of trauma is overwhelming guilt for something that happened to you. You didn’t harm anyone, you weren’t cruel to anyone, yet you feel ashamed of everything that happened, you feel mortified and believe you somehow caused it, or participated in it, you feel overwhelming shame and guilt for your feelings about it now, you feel ashamed for being hurt by it, because someone indicated you should not be. 

If you feel this way, what happened to you isn’t normal or okay. It means you were put in circumstances completely out of your control and then forced to take responsibility for whatever took place, as if you made it happen. You were not only forced to take responsibility for someone else’s cruelty to you, but even conditioned to not be able to acknowledge just how much it hurt you, how much damage you’re still bearing. It means someone hurt you very, very severely and then, for their own convenience, decided that it was you who caused that, and dictated just how you’re allowed to feel about it, to make it more convenient on the perpetrator. You do not owe them a life free of responsibility for what they’ve done to you.

You are not obliged to feel only in ways they tell you to. You already know your feelings about it, and they’re not wrong. You are not in the wrong to be upset, to feel that it was wrong, that you’ve been hurt and someone is guilty of hurting you. The fact they tried to make you responsible for it, and to make themselves look blameless, only makes it worse, it means they didn’t only hurt you once, they hurt you thousand times after, they hurt you every single time you tried and couldn’t acknowledge what happened, they hurt you every single time you had to pretend that what happened to you wasn’t traumatic abuse.

Most Ex-JWs Are Kind of Like JWs

The trauma and conditioning of being a JW leaves many in a frame of mind that simply emulates the previous mode of being, when they were still a witness.

Having nothing to replace the false spirituality of the Witnesses with, they turn to another set of beliefs, usually eclectically.

It'll be something to do with Satan usually, as it's hard to dump that forbidden theme that played all through the Witness life. Wicca is another popular go-to.

The temptation to entertain these notions is merely self-destructive and demonstrates how much in bondage to the Witnesses you still are.

It's sad that most people absolutely need a narrative handed to them from someone else to know their place in the universe.

Religion. Is. Not. The. Answer.

There is no answer. There is no question until you ask one.

And that's just setting yourself up for the fail.

You exist. Get over it. It's a mystery for the most part, one you will never solve. Stop inventing stories. Stop regurgitating others' invented stories.

There is no Jesus. There is no Buddha. There is no Lucifer. There is no Jehovah. These are names of story book characters.
