Contouring really became popular around 2012, when famous celebrities like Kim Kardashian and her makeup artists began to incorporate this technique into their beauty routines. When contouring became a trend EVERYONE wanted to try it and learn how to master the product application and look.
Kim K is known for her sculpted cheekbones and face structure. In reality she has a lot of help from makeup and contour! This trend is still well, trending because it helps a lot of women look “slimmer” as contouring minimizes big features of your face such as a large forehead, nose, or chin.
The key to mastering this technique is to have patience and really learn how to blend out all of the products you are using especially if they are cream.

Hight Lighting.. ✨
I want to just start this post by admitting something... I have an obsession with highlighting my complexion!!! I will layer multiple products until I feel like the highlight looks blinding...
Liquid highlight can be used to bring out and show off the high points of your face, these are of course the points that you want to be seen. There are two types of highlighting products and techniques:
A matte or satin highlight can come in the form of a cream or liquid such as in concealer. You will often see a MUA using a technique to highlight their face and they will apply the product in certain areas to draw attention to their features.
A liquid or powder highlight can also be used as a finishing touch and the product is often shiny or may have shimmer in its formula. This other product known as an “illuminator” or “highlighter” is placed on the tops of your cheekbones, nose, cupids bow, and brow bones for a dewy and illuminated finish.

The Famous “Cat Eye”! 🐱👁
Winged Liner or known more famously for its nick name the cat eye can turn any look into a sultry and sexy one. You might need to practice a couple of times or watch some tutorials in order to get this look down packed.
However to some it might come naturally. Winged liner can be bold, and it is perfectly paired with a red lip! You can also dress the liner down with some subtle gloss and a nice completion look.
It personally took me about 2 weeks to learn how to “perfect” my cat eye and I would practice every night before removing my makeup until I got it right. If it is more difficult for you, don't feel discouraged.. remember that practice makes perfect.

False Lashes... YAY or NAY?
I feel like false lashes are a great touch to any makeup look. Whether you are rocking a soft, natural glam, or if you have a “full beat” lashes are always a go to for me if I find the time to apply them.
Yes the application of falsies can be difficult but, with some practice you can be a pro. Suggested tips would be to use the appropriate tools for the application such as lash glue and tweezers.

HOW TO GET YOUR MAKEUP TO STAY ON THROUGH MIAMI’S HUMID CLIMATE....
Every time someone asks me where I live and my response is Miami, most of the time if the person isn’t from Florida or, has never been there their faces light up...
I say to them I know what you’re thinking huh? Miami, FL... The sun, the beach, and endless waves...
WRONG!!!
More like, the heat, the humidity, and for a place that’s known as the sunshine state.. it rains A LOT in Florida! (well the majority of the time)
A question I always get while i’m working is: How can I get my makeup to stay on my face for the whole day?
I always have that one client who doesn’t want to retouch their makeup and wants their complexion (foundation) to stay on 24 hours on their skin. Really? 24 hour wear for makeup? You might be asking your self is that even a thing Well the answer is yes!
Well honey the year is 2019 and i’m here to let you know that the technology exists. You can wear makeup that promises to stay on the skin for 24 hours, most of the foundations also promise to be transfer proof, sweat proof, oil free, and best of all a matte finish. The key is also a great primer, setting powder, and, setting spray. (we will get to over those products soon).
Here are my top 3 recommendations for the foundations:
1: For a medium-full buildable coverage the Lancôme Teint Idole Ultra Wear 24 HR Foundation is a great option for a natural look with a satin matte finish and an oil free formula. This product is also transfer-free and has an of SPF 15. (My personal favorite) 😉
2. The Becca Cosmetics Ultimate Coverage Foundation will stay on for 24 hours and it is oil free. It gives you a natural finish and a little goes a long way with the formula, since it is on the full coverage side.
3. Another Full coverage option is the Estée Lauder Double Wear Foundation, this oil free formula also promises a 24 hour stay on the skin.
You can go to your local Sephora store and ask for a sample of any of these brands and products, in order to try the foundations out for your self. 💋

I know that sometimes it’s hard to get the creative juices flowing, and this might be similar to a writers block. Well, we can call it an artistry block 🤒
It can happen to the best of us, but do not worry! If you ever feel that you need some guidance I suggest to watch YouTube videos. Following beauty guru’s or influencers is a positive thing in my opinion because their tutorials helped me learn a lot of what I know about makeup today.

Jeffree Star is an insanely popular Makeup artist, creator, and CEO of his own company: Jeffree Star Cosmetics. He is an innovator, and he is popular not only because he has his own makeup brand, but because of the great content he posts on his YouTube channel, when it comes to his videos.
He is always up to date with the trends and will give a 100% honest opinion in his very popular reviews, where he lets the audience know if his products are Jeffree Star approved or not. I often trust his opinion because most of the time, (if not all of the time) he purchases the products he reviews with his own money, and he is not affiliated with brands. Which means that they do not pay him to review their work/ products.

The BOLDER the BETTER Baby! 💋💄
Sometimes something so simple as a pop of color can change your mood, or even brighten your day.
Lipstick for example, DOES THAT!
A pop of color can lift you up, enchance your features, and even be the final touch to any look.
Lipstick like men, come in many shape and sizes... 👀 (see what I did there..)
However, working in the cosmetics industry has taught me many things, and one of the important lessons is that it can be difficult to find the perfect lip color for your personal style.
The second lesson was that people can be afraid of bold color... Little do they know that the stronger or deeper the shade of lipstick, the more sultry and sexy, you look 😉
Anyways, I strongly feel that a look isn’t complete with out a perfect lip color. Whether it’s a matte nude lip or a bold red shimmer, even a soft pink gloss, LIPS ARE IN!
