AR VR in Manufacturing
Why does the manufacturing industry need AR/VR?
Before answering this question, let’s talk about why it is necessary to be subjected to technological advancements in general.
The inevitable change
In a drastically evolving techno world where dependence on gadgets has maximised, there is no way for us to stay updated without adapting to the advancements. So, without technology, we might survive, but it is not possible to live upto the competition set in this fast growing era. After all, we have to be Romans when in Rome. Therefore, our growth depends on how readily we accept the change.
But, Don’t worry if you aren’t ready, Meynikara will get you there and make your techno-transition smooth!
Stay ahead with Meynikara!
Nokia, Blackberry are few of the majorly acknowledged companies that failed to innovate in time by not keeping up with the advancements. It is quite saddening and unacceptable to see such companies out of business. However, it isn’t easy to stay in the business as well, unless a company is ready to face the challenges that has been brought by this constantly changing techno century. Speaking of which, a business that looks forward to growing and prospering every year, must be ready to break stereotypes by utilising the technology coming up every year. Favourably, a business that welcomes unconventionalism is said to have conventional buyers.
Meynikara has developed the following in an intention to deliver solution oriented and sales attracting services  using AR/VR technology, for various companies across the globe!
AR/VR training for industry professionals - To reduce the occurrence of machine  damage and physical injury; to minimise the training hours and maximize productivity; to have anytime access to clarify doubts on operation, to save huge cost spent on training every year, to reduce the stress of not being able to accommodate huge numbers at once, to ensure 100% engagement and increase retention rates and above all, to significantly increase ROI. Evolution of Safety Training
The Safety training for the workforce that exists today is a gradual outcome of the lessons learnt from unprecedented  mishaps at different times. Earlier, the workers in high-risk environments were hired based on how daringly decisive they were which means, come what may, the workers had to solely face it. The labor movement during the industrial revolution, has drastically changed this system with government intervention in the later years. The worker safety which the employers were once indifferent to, later turned out to be the employers’ first responsibility following labor demand.  The increasing turnouts  due to life-threatening incidents and accidents paved the way for the establishment of safety departments  as per government instructions across all industries.
Tumblr media
From working unguarded to now being proper safety instructions with safety kit- worker safety has indeed evolved for the better. Even after the betterment of safety training, when the fatalities in the workplace continued to happen for various reasons, the occupational Health and safety administration facilitated safety training with the possible advancements that could help in precision of training. The goal of this administration is to extend support in leveraging technologies to prevent workplace fatalities.
Virtual Reality is a milestone in advancements that has great usage in safety training. The greatest advantage of this advancement is its immersive visualization feature. Yes! This feature helps in authentic experience of workplace operations and importantly, occupational hazards through simulation.  The consequences of hazards can be virtually recreated for workers to have enough knowledge to stay cautious. When workers get to practice the risk of occupational hazards in an absolutely zero risk environment with just a VR headset on, they can easily dodge or handle the risks in real time. VR safety training is expected to reduce the worker incident and accident rates and bring it to zero in future.
Some of the leading companies in the APAC region that have deployed VR safety training in their companies, have benefited big time from it. Meynikara is happy to have delivered VR training modules for those companies and proud to play a small part in the expected big revolution.

How is VR Being Received in the APAC Region.
Virtual Reality has been around for a longtime. However, it is just gaining popularity. A few years ago, people were actually under the impression that VR is used only in gaming and some still do. But the fact is VR can be used in many industries like manufacturing, automotive, armed forces, healthcare & education, mainly to increase retention rate and improve productivity.
Though VR is quite known today, not all countries have come forward to explore it. Australia, New Zealand, China, South Korea, Singapore and Japan are few of the countries in the APAC region that highly make use of VR. Of all these countries, China tops the list in the VR market. Reports say 95% of consumers in China use VR.
Tumblr media
The technology allows scope for the users to achieve things that seem far-fetched. The greater good that this technology can bring in many industries is the reason for countries to adapt to it faster.
In these many years of developing and delivering VR projects for leading companies in the APAC region, nowhere did we find the VR market slowing down. The demand for VR has only been increasing for the wonders it could do with its amazing immersive visualization feature and simulation. Let’s adapt to VR to push boundaries and to explore the unexplored.

Trend That Safety Department Will Soon Adapt To!
“Safety is not an intellectual exercise to keep us in work. It’s a matter of life and death. It is the sum of our contributions to safety management that determines whether the people we work with live or die” — Sir Brian Appleton,
After the Piper Alpha disaster that costed the lives of 165 men at work and 2 rescue officers. Having witnessed such life threatening worker incidents and irreversible worker accidents, the safety departments of all industries have certainly evolved since and are always on the run to provide better safety. Though at present, the worker incident and accident rates have decreased, it is still being reported. So, safety departments are always on the lookout for better and effective safety solutions to zero down worker incident and accident rates.
Tumblr media
Undeniably, technology is the source of all trends. One of such technologies is the revolutionary Virtual Reality, that is trending worldwide. Safety department has now got a holy grail- VR safety training, that serves as an effective safety solution. Many industries, especially those that can’t disregard worker safety in high risk environments, have become early adopters of VR safety training. Adapting to this beneficial safety training trend, has helped them majorly in
Tumblr media

How Do Trainees Learn Better with VR Safety Training?
Before knowing how VR training helps trainees learn better, let’s know what are the factors that cause disruption in physical training or in e training. In physical training/classroom, trainees are required to go to the assigned places and be prepared for the forthcoming risks. This involves travel pressure and the risk of worker incident and accident. When digitalization took over, physical training was replaced with e-training, where demonstration is screened. This led to low retention due to disengagement of trainees and poor hazard communication, which in turn caused worker incident and accident rates. In both these training methods, trainees are prone to make mistakes and face the consequences of it.
Tumblr media
Virtual Reality Training eliminates all these risk factors and minimizes or nullifies mistakes as it retains the trainees’ focus 4 times more than the theoretical / e learning and 2 times more than physical training. The greatest advantage of VR training is its visualization and simulation of hazard in an absolutely zero risk environment. The pretense of danger beforehand through simulation let’s trainees face the consequence and gives room for them to handle the circumstances consciously. There is no physical exhaustion in VR training so, the trainees could have their VR headsets on and practice as many times as they please. The authentic physical clone of the industrial floor incorporated in VR training, gives trainees a customized training experience enhancing their orientation in the factory floor in Realtime.
Tumblr media
With all the above stated advantages, VR training can definitely help trainees learn better and perform better. The learning outcome in VR training is better than what is expected as reported by the safety training authorities. A 80% increase in retention rate has been observed in VR training, leading to fewer minor mistakes and significant reduction in worker incident and accident rates and an appreciable increase in productivity.
Being an XR development company that has delivered and is delivering VR training services to leading companies across the globe, Meynikara strongly believes trainees can not only learn better but can also strengthen their skills with VR training.

Tackling Complications in Confined Spaces with VR Safety Training
Tumblr media
“No person at work shall enter a confined space to carry out work for any purpose unless it is not reasonably practicable to achieve that purpose without such entry” states “The confined space regulation 1997”. The act came into practice to ensure that workers enter confined spaces only if it is unavoidable and the reason being the numerous fatalities caused by lack of oxygen, noxious fumes, fire or drowning due to flooding. In case an unavoidable situation arises that demands entry into confined space, the workers are supposed to assess the risks and be well informed of the control measures ahead of the entry.
Even if the necessary precautions are taken, the nature of work in the confined spaces may bring mayday unexpectedly. It is because of the limited exposure and lack of practice in traditional training sessions. Though the workers are trained, they cannot be trained effectively enough to tackle all the anticipated hazards in a confined space unless they are thoroughly exposed to it. But such a nuanced exposure cannot be expected in a traditional training method as it comes with its own limitations.
Tumblr media
When Virtual Reality was invented, it opened doors to endless possibilities. All the physical constraints or limitations in a usual training method were broken through. The authentic immersive visualization provided in a VR environment is the key for effective safety training. The workers learn to tackle the complications of working in confined space by virtually travelling through the physical clone of that risk space in a zero risk environment. Each hazard and its impact can be simulated in VR giving the employees such a nuanced exposure, letting them safely suffer the hazard and fearlessly fail which is not possible in traditional training methods.
Here is Meynikara’s recent VR safety training module delivered to ONGC for confined space, to give an idea of how VR safety training for confined spaces is done.

Save Training Cost and Time with Virtual Reality
On an average a company spends 5-7% of its revenue on employee training and for a new hire to handle complex tasks, it takes about 12-18 months. If employee turnover is the major reason for the company to hire new employees, then the company is sure to face a production downtime. In addition to the actual cost spent on training, there are certain hidden costs that include transportation, expert fee, compensations for injuries if any etc., These costs are inevitable in a traditional training method. Importantly, the time spent on training that leads to production downtime also adds to the training cost.
Tumblr media
Virtual Reality training which is purely based on visualization and simulation doesn’t require much training sessions when training a mass, because all that the employees would need is a VR headset and they are good to go. They don't have to wait like they do in a classroom session. People can get trained anywhere anytime without having to travel. The employees needn’t depend on the experts as VR training is totally based on gaze interaction. The immersive technology that makes training effective, safe and sound, will reduce the risk of injuries in the field. So, VR safety training can significantly cut down the training cost and effectively train the employees at a minimal cost in a shorter time. When the training is effective, apparently there would be an increase in productivity.
Tumblr media
Companies that have adapted to VR safety training have reported that their ROI has increased by 50% on an average adding their employees actively participate in the VR safety training sessions unlike in the traditional training method. This has increased the retention rate which has in turn increased the productivity rate and ROI. Thus, VR safety training is greatly time saving and cost effective training that helps companies get better in terms of safety and revenue.
Meynikara, in its journey of successfully helping many leading companies deploy VR safety training, found out that it is the best training solution for industries that are spending a lot of money and time on traditional training, yet struggling to achieve the desired results.

Mishaps in ONGC — Causes and Solution
Tumblr media
OIL and GAS industry inarguably has the highest risk of worker incident and accident rates. A small indifference can lead to a big disaster in no time. The BHN platform fire in 2005 is the one of the scariest incidents so far that was caused by leakage in the pipeline which went unnoticed. The rescue operation during this mishap was a great deal due to bad weather. Though ONGC personnel pulled it off with the help of the navy, that  was still a herculean task for them. Out of the 380 crew members, 11 died and 13 went missing in the 2 hours of continuous fire, making it the biggest ongc disaster in history. But these mishaps can be prevented with revolutionary technology.
Here is how Virtual Reality can prevent those mishaps. Virtually exposing the maintenance crew to the consequences  due to leakages in prior would certainly prevent such disasters. In a traditional training method, there are chances for employees to be disengaged, either due to poor hazard communication or due to other distractions that surround. With VR safety training, it is reported that employees focus 4 times more than they do in e-training and 2 times more than they do in physical training. The increase in employee retention rate during the training sessions, resulted in fewer mistakes and higher productivity.
Tumblr media
Meynikara recently delivered a VR training application as requested by a leading Oil and Gas company in India for training employees who are required to work at heights, in confined spaces and in loto . The HSE officer of the company stated that VR  training is of great help to the employees in terms of safety adding that they will soon attain zero worker incident and accident rates in the oil and gas industry with VR training.
VR training can potentially zero down worker incident and accident rates with its visualization and simulation features that gives an authentic immersive experience for the workers. Join Meynikara mission to take VR training across all industries to zero down worker incident and accident rates. Together let’s priorities worker safety!

Optimizing First Responder’s Safety with VR Safety Training!
First Responders have signed up to save others’ lives whilst risking theirs. Safety for first responders is not assured because hazards don’t come informed. Among the first responders, firefighters are at higher risk for the obvious reason. Though they are well equipped and are trained before-hand to face the danger, they are still vulnerable. Their safety training could be made even more efficient with Virtual Reality where the incident can be simulated numerous times giving them an opportunity to figure out an escape in their mind well-ahead. The greatest advantage of immersive VR training is its power to recreate different incidents. With that said, the first responders can virtually expose themselves to the incidents as many times as they want to learn how to safeguard themselves and others in real time.
Tumblr media
Meynikara emphasizes the importance of VR safety Training for zero worker incident rate. In a survey conducted to identify the causes of worker incidents and accidents, it has been reported that the ineffective training sessions due to poor hazard communication and disengagement of trainees, is the one of the major causes of incident and accident rates. This could be eliminated only with a revolutionary visualization technology like VR that is created to provide authentic immersive experiences of high-risk scenarios simulated in a zero risk environment.
In a mission to spread this effective VR training solution to industries across the globe where occupational safety has to be prioritized, Meynikara is reaching out to 50 companies across the globe to deliver customized no cost VR training modules. Join Meynikara’s vision, spread the word and Let the future witness no worker incidents and accidents.

What Does The Traditional Therapy Lack That a VRET Covers?
Therapies have become the most sought-after treatment for mental illness in recent times. People choose Exposure therapies drugs to restore their mental health, because unlike drugs, these therapies gradually expose them to the cause of the trauma, helping them face it and make peace with it instead of just tranquilizing them temporarily.. But what does this Traditional Exposure Therapy lack and how does Virtual Reality Exposure Therapy (VRET) get it covered?
Tumblr media
In a traditional exposure therapy that demands a physical recreation of the trauma scene for the treatment session, a lot of money and time will be involved. Also, it might be tough for psychologists to create individualized trauma scenes for the patients in every session in order to gradually expose them to the cause of trauma. So, the following are the challenges faced by the psychologists in conventional exposure therapy.
Physical constraints to recreate the trauma scenario
Costs a lot of money, time and effort
The confined monotonous environment
Lack of effective gradual exposure to the cause due to increase in frequency of the therapy sessions.
Inadequacy in levels of challenges required
In a VRET that gives 360* individualized, authentic immersive exposure, psychologists can treat and monitor patients remotely. Unlike the other methods, it is possible to increase the challenges in each level based on patients’ response without mandatory clinical visits. Comparatively, VRET has more advantages to make therapies evidently effective.
Controlled gradual exposure to the cause of the trauma at different levels
No physical constraints in recreating the trauma scene
Therapies can be individualized and can be altered based on the response
No monotony
Legit replication of scenarios in the immersive environment
Tumblr media
VRET helps both psychologists and patients bypass the challenges faced in traditional exposure therapy. VR development companies like Meynikara that functions with an expert team, charts levels in VRET after consulting the psychologist about the allowed difficulty in each level before they begin to develop the VRET application. Meynikara is one of the trusted sources that has developed VRET for anxiety disorder, phobia and post-traumatic stress disorder which when tested with patients gave genuine and expected results at the end of the sessions. The company strongly believes VRET would be a breakthrough in Mental Health treatment.
Psychologists for sure can adapt to this limitless revolutionary therapy to help their patients effectively restore mental health bigtime.

How to achieve Zero Worker Incident Rate?
Why do such incidents occur?
Tumblr media
Businesses revolve around technology today. Manual works are long gone. Ever since things turned mechanical, the efforts have become minimal. However, there are still risks in operating the giant machines, electrical circuits, working at heights, in confined spaces. Though technology has made things easier, it has also made it riskier unfortunately.. Every year, the worker incident and accident rates seem to either stay unchanged or peak. The Times of India has stated that 48,000 occupational injuries happen annually on an average as reported by The British Safety council. Construction and manufacturing report the highest incidents so far as stated by the following sources- US bureau of Labour Statistics, Research gate, National Library of medicine.
There are various factors that result in worker incident rate and the major ones are
Ineffective hazard communication
Poor employee Retention rate in the traditional training method.
When there is ineffective hazard communication, the employees would stay unclear in the field and the distractions in the traditional training method leading to poor retention will also keep the employees perplexed.
Tumblr media
These risks of injuries and fatalities which are obviously the shortcomings of advancements can be curtailed by yet another revolutionary technological advancement i.e., Virtual Reality. Given the fact that the traditional training method has its own restrictions, It’s high time that industries adapt to VR Training where the authentic immersive experience  gives unrestricted, wholesome, 360*, zero-risk training environment. The distraction-free training in VR leading to a 75% increase in retention rate, results in better safety and productivity. This hassle-free training has significantly reduced the worker incident and accident rate to 0.4% which is exactly why it is recommended for better safety and productivity.
Over the years, VR training is expected to achieve zero worker incident and accident rates. Above all, the huge sum of money and the number of hours spent on traditional training methods every year can be reduced.
Join Meynikara in their mission of achieving zero worker incident and accident rates. Let’s ensure safety while doubling productivity. Sign up and talk to experts at Meynikara to bring the change!

Global Companies that Adapted to VR Training
Tumblr media
While some companies are enjoying accelerated growth with Virtual Reality, there is still a group that is quite skeptical about investing in it. The lack of clarity on the possible outcomes of VR could be one of the reasons for them to wait till they are given that credibility by those companies that tried VR. The benefits that the following fortune 500 companies stated after adapting to VR training, would give that expected clarity and credibility for other companies  to switch to the technology for the better.
The well-doing, globally known Walmart, Porsche, Boeing and UPS are some of the early adopters of VR technology.
Laura Collings, training manager at UPS stated,
“You can train people faster, and people learn faster in a VR environment” adding that the retention rate has increased by 75%.
“ Life happens in 360, not 2D video. We test our associates on the content they see. Those associates who [used] VR as part of their training scored higher than those who didn’t” said Brock McKeel, Senior director of digital operations at Walmart.
Also, like UPS, Walmart also discovered that the employees are highly engaged in VR training program like never before when they happen to see their test scores increase. Similarly, the other two companies also vouch for such revolutionary technologies which can make a huge difference in cost and in productivity.
In addition to this, using VR as a training tool drastically reduces worker incident and accident rates. Certain VR development companies like Meynikara have made it a point to help industries achieve zero worker incident and accident rates in the near future. As a part of it, they are bent upon reaching out to companies that involve high-risk jobs and give them a no cost tailor made VR  training samples. Given the fact that the company has already worked for OIL and Gas corporation and other leading companies in India, this vision of theirs is highly appreciable. The company seems to have gained trust with their prompt replies. Also, their effective reception of the problem statement and the possible VR solutions they arrive at for every company, in order to give the best immersive training possible, has made them more reliable.
Besides, the VR technology itself has been made reliable with interactive training. So, the industries can explore the boundaries for sure with VR and become limitless.

Why Is VR Training Necessary In Industries?
Why Is VR Training Necessary In Industries?
Why is VR training necessary in industries?
VR training is being popularly adapted today and if you have wondered why, there are many reasons why industries shifted to VR training from traditional training. One of those is safety. Having witnessed worker incidents globally especially in high-risk work environments, the industry 4.0 concept that roots for industrial automation welcomes Virtual Reality considering it as one of the most edifying innovations that can contribute to worker safety and productivity in the workplace.
How does VR training curtail worker incidents?
The workers would have a prior understanding of the consequences of both the existing and unprecedented jeopardies with a physical clone of the industry floor that simulates real-time experience. So, they will be conscious before they enter the actual work environment, thus leading to fewer mistakes and eventually zero mistakes. This will gradually bring down the worker incident rate to zero.
The other reasons to switch to VR Training
Traditional Training Vs VR Training
Traditional Training
VR Training
More distraction, less interaction= Lesser productivity
In a traditional method where there is obviously more distraction and less interaction, the trainers cannot expect higher retention rates from the trainees. This leads to lesser productivity.
Less Distraction, More interaction= More Productivity
With VR training, the chances of getting distracted is negligible or nil as their vision would be restricted only to the factory environment with VR Headsets. The immersive experience they have with the VR headset will pull their attention in, making it too hard to not focus.
The familiarity that the trainees get with the physical clone in VR will make them well-oriented ahead of their visit to the industry floor.
The benefits that companies reaped after incorporating VR
The companies that adapted to VR training stated that their ROI has significantly increased in a year as they could halve the training cost spent annually on traditional training. Also, the increase in productivity led to the increase in the company's ROI. The worker incident rate has been reported to reduce gradually saving them the compensations spent on injuries and fatalities. The companies could effectively guide their employees about working in high-risk environments just by putting them in a low-risk environment with an oculus. After all, increase in productivity and decrease in worker incident rate is what every company wants, to grow in this competitive world.
When is your company going to switch to VR training for the good? Get your digital transformation done by MEYNIKARA today and stay assured to grow
