i didn't like jessica but i respect her for breaking up with melendez because she knew he really wanted kids

their hands brushed
that’s all it was. just a simple exchange, she passed him a file before heading out for the night and her soft skin touched his for a fraction of a second. he felt a spark, the briefest flicker of a candle coming to life inside of him and then it was gone. she pulled away, eyes wide but quickly looking away as if she felt something too
but did she? neil looked at her for a moment, searching for something, anything to betray what she was thinking. he could usually read her so well. he knew when she was upset, when reznick said something blunt that rubbed her the wrong way. she wore her heart on her sleeve, but now she was turning away from him, pushing her hair behind her ear
“dr. browne,” he found himself saying, resisting the urge to reach out to her. she looked over her shoulder, eyes bright. neil opened his mouth but he forgot what he was going to say. she started to frown but he said “thank you. I hope you have a good night.”
she smiled at him and the world started to spin. he felt dazed, like he was stumbling off of a roller coaster and the dizziness was too much.
“I hope you do too, dr. melendez,” she said, her voice quiet but sincere
she walked away and he swore every step she took sounded like a beat of his heart, a ticking that would inevitably be the end of him. for now, though, it was alright

It's funny because I'm a surgical resident too and I initially hated Dr. Melendez, but now he's my favorite character other than Shaun! He's a great surgeon and he KNOWS he's good so of course his words and actions won't sit well with everyone. I'm excited that him and Claire could end up being a thing because it seems like they have a little mutual respect/admiration going on 😍 Anyways ya I'm really happy I found your blog haha
aw! I felt the same, he really got on my nerves but I’ve grown to love him so much as a character. I can’t wait to see how he and Claire grow throughout the show!

I've been rewatching TGD all week and MANNNN the Claire/Neil chemistry is present! The scenes with them just FEEL different. They're more charged than the times he and Jessica are supposed to be "romantic", it just doesn't strike the same chords with me as a viewer
right??
I see the same cues. It might not happen anytime soon but she and Jared breaking things off just a few episodes after Neil and Jessica broke off their engagement is interesting :D
