I’m baaaaaack

I’ve been here for about a week but haven’t been posting because nothing remarkable has happened. Germany isn’t new to me anymore so not much is new or exciting.

But earlier I was leaving my apartment on my way to take a walk when I realized I forgot to brush my teeth, but I didn’t bother going back inside because it was just a walk, I wasn’t going to be needing to speak to anybody. (Famous last words.) I was a block or two away from my apartment after being out for nearly an hour when someone stopped me to ask for directions. (So close!!!) I told her I didn’t know how to get there, but as I was about to walk away, I realized I could use Google Maps. I showed her the map but she was still confused so I had to give verbal directions, and I felt really good and useful about my German skills being enough to help someone.

UPDATE on my life and this blog

For those who didn’t see my last post, I’ll be back in Germany in a little over a month to teach English for the 2018/19 school year, teaching the little ones in Lübeck. I have an apartment already and I am suuuuuper super stoked to start this next chapter of my German life. I’ve been gone for eleven months. That’s waaay too long.

Since I’ll be there for about a year, with like a legit job with a paycheck and everything, I won’t be posting stuff daily. I’ll post whenever there’s something worth posting (I’m thinking maybe weekly?), but this is the first step to Germany being a part of my normal life rather than a sort of working vacation. Once I’m officially permanently settled in Germany with a long term job and everything, I’ll eventually stop posting all together, but for now, feel free to join me on my journey to living the best possible version of my life.

I don’t know specifics yet, but yesterday I found out that I won a scholarship to teach English in Germany for the 2018-2019 school year, and honestly I have never felt happier. This is amazing.

I‘ll post specifics once I know them, but it’ll likely be a while. I just know that I’ll be an English teacher‘s assistant somewhere in Germany for the 2018-2019 school year, and I’ll likely start in September.

Well, I actually did it this year! Last year I stopped in the 70s i think? But I actually made posts every day, im proud. Im at the airport right now. In about one hour, i will no longer be in Germany. Not until next year or so, at least. I have no definite plans for my next visit. I'm applying to work as an English teacher's assistant for the following school year so if that happens (my odds of getting it are something like 30%) I won't be back until next August or September. If I don't get that position, I have noooo idea what I'm gonna do. But, yeah. Nothing to say about today. I had breakfast at the hostel, checked out, came to the airport. Dull. Sad.

Stayed at Ben's until about 6, rode to Frankfurt, checked into my hostel and was getting settled in my room when a roommate came in and we talked for a bit and then she invited me out with some other people from the hostel. I said yes because I've never done anything like this before and I like experiencing new things just once even though I know I won't enjoy them. We were supposed to meet up at 9:30 to go out, and we did meet up, but didn't... go out until 11. I'm like guys I'm a grandpa I check out EARLY. I met this girl Claire though and she was def the coolest of all of them. I got her number when I told her I wasn't gonna go to the club with them. There was also this journalist guy from London who seemed okay. Honestly meeting these people felt like meeting the "NPCs" from the Sims. Oh and I also went shopping and bought red acrylic nails from Rossmann so that I can look slightly like Katya Zamolodchikova lmfao

Another chill day!! We stayed in all day doing whatever the fuck (finishing RuPaul, starting Project Runway, playing video games), walked the dogs, got Italian food delivered, watched vine comps, snuggled the dogs. Good day~

Another chill day! We slept till like 3:30 and then had "breakfast," walked the dogs, and literally just chilled at home all day doing whatever; video games, watching YouTube videos, whatever. Right now we're watching Trixie Mattel and Katya from Rupaul on YouTube 😏 i love them so much

Super chill day. Game of Thrones, walking the dogs, bleaching his hair, and drunkenly watching RuPaul ((which is the best way to watch it tbh. My Gay(tm) came out lol))

Ben and I spent the day in Erlangen because he had a doctor's appointment there so I got to experience a German doctor's visit for the first time!!!! That was really neat, especially because I was able to see how much medical-lingo I knew 😏 Besides that we just shopped, got food, and then watched RuPaul when we got home.

The rest of these entries will probably be pretty boring since I'm at my friend Ben's house and I feel weird about telling the world every detail about what my friends and I do lol. Like I can talk about my own life all day long but I don't wanna "exploit" (I don't think that's the word but I can't think of a better one rn) my friends' lives for my blog. But he and his mom got me from the train station and we went to the festival in town, chilled, walked the dogs, had dinner, and watched RuPaul's Drag Race. I'm in love with Pearl 😍
