You will get through today. You will survive the onslaught of diet culture and fatphobia from your friends and family. You are strong.
Someone who believes you should abuse your body to aesthetically please them could never take away your worth.
Enjoy the holidays. Enjoy the desserts. Enjoy the food and traditions. Wear what you love and feel good in.
You deserve to exist and participate in society. You deserve to participate in your culture. And if you can't manage to do that for yourself yet, do it for the fat people in your life who needed to see other fat people living freely to feel able to start doing the same.
You make the world a better place when you allow yourself to take up space.

Food is not the enemy and carbs are not the enemy and fucking ENJOYING THE THINGS YOU EAT is not the enemy and eating things that you hate because they maybe might make you “skinny” is not the fucking answer

Actively working to make yourself more conventionally desirable is the enemy of self-care. Not only in the sense of body image and diet culture, but in terms of your entire recovery process. If someone is talking about something that's triggering for you, tell them you want to talk about something else. You're not rude if you asked them not to talk about their latest fad diet or to quit commenting on the portions on your plate. Healing isn't just about stopping the disordered eating itself but everything packaged around it. Be rude and blunt and unlikeable if that's what you need to do to get yourself an environment free of triggers. If they don't care about triggering you, they're not people whose approval matters.

the most helpful thing i have ever seen from neurodivergent internet spaces is “THERE ARE OTHER TIMES OF DAY TO BRUSH YOUR TEETH”. this has genuinely saved me from executive dysfunction spirals so many times.

people refuse to see the violence it takes to maintain the status quo as such and instead fear the hypothetical violence it will take to destroy it. they see the current order of things as a state of stasis and inaction, instead of as a violent order upheld by constant action, which can be undone by action
