Last question about Elec man's programming made me wonder what he actually would do if he had free will. It's very easy to say if it happened during season 1, but season 2 gets much more ambiguous. By season 3, it's hard to say what he'd do.

Probably wouldn't be good for Wily, heh!

It's an interesting situation because Elec Man's pretty happy at the start of season 3: he's doing something completely different than what he was originally programmed to do (which is both thrilling and intellectually fulfilling), gets to hang out with Proto (Dr. Light's prototype and a peer in many ways), and able to keep an eye on Top Man (who is happy at Skull Fortress). On some level he'd probably never admit even to himself, he might feel kinda glad he's not programmed with free will, because he'd feel obligated to choose Syndicate loyalties (which would end all of that)--but also, in a sense, means he doesn't really have free will? For in a very real sense Elec Man's reality is not so different than most Robot Masters in that he never really had free will, he just prefers his original employers over Wily because they were less idiotic, LOL. But what Elec Man actually wants isn't really something he takes as a priority--he chooses his responsibilities first, and has been enjoying the guilt-free excuse to plunge into escapism in season 3. So, if he had true free will, what we he do becomes a good question! :) Probably NOT good for Wily either way, but you never know :D Then again, it IS Elec Man....so probably not good, but still Elec Man might feel conflicted about what he should do...

Very stupid joke theory based on Elec man's sleep upgrade. In the become the night timeline, he mentioned that the upgrade was part of an upgrade that protected him from reprogramming (in some ways making him closer to being an advanced android)

Would be funny if the sleep thing in canon gave him some degree (or even total) free will, but he didn't really notice because he's mostly enjoying his life right now. I definitely don't think this is canon, but it made me laugh because I'm imagining Elec man realizing he's had slowly gained free will over a few months and being like 'Wait, so in all this time I could have gotten rid of Wily when nobody would have suspected me? Really? Ugh -_-"
