Lucifer (TV) 1.13 AU
When Lucifer was just about to follow Chloe to her confrontation with Malcolm, Maze caught up with Lucifer and wanted to come along to watch his back. He refused, insisted on going alone, and ordered her not to follow. She obeyed, but warned him not to underestimate the human.
Of course, like the idiot devil he is, he ignored her warnings and got himself shot. Needless to say, Maze is not happy about it.
In the aftermath of this mess, they have a confrontation. Maze coldly informs Lucifer that he has forced her to break her vow to protect him, and she will not allow him to do this to her again, and for that reason she is moving out, quitting work at LUX, and the only contact Lucifer will have with her from now on is an e-mail address for emergency use only. She will continue to watch his back and protect him, but from now on it will be on her terms, and her terms only.
Unfortunately for Lucifer, "on Maze's terms" means with brutal efficiency and absolutely no regard for the police cases he and the detective are trying to solve. The first time Maze intervenes, Lucifer and Chloe are about to be killed by their murder suspect and half a dozen of his henchmen. Within a few moments, all of the bad guys are taken out with extreme precision by a sniper who escapes unseen, leaving behind only his rifle. On their next case, they go to confront their suspect only to find that he has apparently committed suicide by hanging himself, after writing a suicide note where he confesses the crime. Lucifer immediately recognizes the somewhat unusual knot the man used to make a noose as Maze's handiwork.
As more and more of their cases conclude with their suspects being murdered, suffering mysterious accidents, or committing suicide, Chloe gets suspicious and Lucifer is forced to contact Maze and try to get her to stop plastering their path with corpses. Her idea of complying with his wishes is to make sure they don't find the corpses, which means that their police cases officially remain unsolved.
Lucifer once again contacts Maze, this time ordering her explicitly to leave their suspects alive and present for the law enforcement to deal with. He is deeply apprehensive of just how Maze will react to that order.
His apprehensions are more than justified. The next time he and Chloe find themselves confronted by their suspected murderer and his two accomplices, the lights go out, the sounds of three necks being broken can be heard, and when the lights go back on, the men are lying on the ground. They are still alive, but paralyzed from the neck down due to the vertebra which were broken with absolute precision.
Of course, Chloe now realizes exactly what - or rather: who - has happened. And she is also certain now that those other mysterious deaths and disappearances had the same cause. Now Lucifer has to deal with his pet human being extremely pissed off, and determined to hold Maze accountable for her actions, and his demon almost certainly just waiting for a chance to make the detective's life hell.

Maze takes out the whole biker gang, including the woman. (And almost punches out Chloe, too.) Lucifer congratulates her, praising her fighting skills. She brushes him off brusquely and stalks away.
He follows her, hurt about her behavior, and she points out angrily that if his recklessness gets him killed, he will end up back in Hell (like his daddy wants), only without her there to watch his back, because she will be stranded up here on earth. She leaves him standing there, staring after her, shocked and worried as he realizes that he hadn't thought of that.
Later, after he and the detective have solved their case, he finds Maze at Lux and they have a long overdue talk. It ends with Lucifer giving Maze his coin so she will always have a way to return to Hell.

Cracky Fluff Prompt
Pink plastic flamingos have started appearing mysteriously all over the city. At first they only show up outdoors, in parks, on sideways, in people's gardens. The LAPD first gets involved when some of them show up in the private, heavily secured gardens of various celebrities. Next they start appearing on roofs and balconies, and then indoors. People show up to work to find lawn flamingos in the potted plants in their office, or on their chairs or desks. The damn things are practically everywhere, including at the precinct. The cops are not happy.
Lucifer doesn't get the fuss at first, but when some of them show up in his penthouse, he becomes determined to find the cause/perpetrator and put a stop to it. He tries to get Maze to help him, but she doesn't care. Mainly because she and her roommates are unaffected. Trixie has expressed her disappointment that they haven't got a flamingo yet. Several of her classmates have had plastic birds appear in their gardens.
But then one of the things shows up in Trixie's bedroom over night, scaring the girl. Now Maze is out for blood, determined to make the responsible entity pay. Nobody is allowed to scare her best friend.
The responsible entities turn out to be a few demon kids who have found a way of sneaking out of Hell and onto the mortal plane, now that Lucifer is no longer keeping a lid on things and his angelic replacements are no match for mischievous demonic creativity. They aren't really evil, and were just having some fun, playing a harmless prank on the humans. The one who placed the flamingo in Trixie's bedroom had overheard the girl wishing for one and thought he was doing something to please Maze's small human friend.
They knew very well that Maze lived there and that the two humans in the apartment are under her protection, which was the reason why there were no flamingos anywhere near it. They also knew about the penthouse being Lucifer's. Putting flamingos into the Devil's own lair was done on a dare.
Maze wants to hurt them regardless, but Trixie finds out and forgives the demons when they abjectly apologize to her, begging her to protect them from Mazikeen's wrath. Lucifer is mostly pouting that Maze was willing to go after them for Trixie, but not for him. He doesn鈥檛 care about their mischief, as long as they do not cause harm to humans.

2.12 Mazifer AU Prompt
Maze does have a way of following Lucifer to Hell to rescue him, but it is strictly a one-way deal. There is no way to return to Earth on her own afterwards, and she can't go with Lucifer. How far would he go to get his demon back, especially if he knew that being in Hell without him may be dangerous for Maze? (She was his right-hand-demon for millennia. Lots of ways to make enemies in a job like that.)

currently obsessed w/ the idea of maze & lucifer being the only ones that can calm each other down when it comes to a mental spiral. like maze has a ptsd attack and lucifer is the only one who can ground her and coach her thru it and sits beside her while she calms down i'm simply obsessed w/ it
I love this idea. Lucifer is the only one who can truly "get" Maze, who understands enough about demons, but also about how she is no ordinary demon, to know how she thinks and feels.
And on the other side, Maze gets the darkness and rage in Lucifer, and understands that his childhood - whatever passes for that with angels - and family life was just as fucked up, dysfunctional and even abusive as her own, even if it was for different reasons.
Plus, they have known and shared their lives for eons in Hell, and years in LA. They know each other in ways nobody else does.

3.06 Mazifer AU Prompt
Lucifer comes home from Vegas to find not Chloe, but Maze asleep in his bed. Drunk Linda and Chloe called her asking if she knew the combination for the wall safe when they couldn't figure it out on their own. Maze refused to give it to them, then got a neighbour to look after Trixie for a little while so she could come here and deal with "the two idiots".
By the time she got to the penthouse, the other two had called Dan and he was trying to drill open the safe, damaging the wall. Maze read them all the riot act (particularly Chloe, because Trixie was back at their apartment wondering when mommy would come home so they could celebrate her birthday like they'd planned) and threw them out. Dan drove Chloe home (or at least promised to do that), and Maze got Patrick to drive Linda. She herself stayed here because she was worried Decker might convince her ex to let her come back here, or decide to come back her on her own.
Lucifer remarks on the fact that she decided to sleep in his bed. Maze gets defensive, her last bounty hunt was complicated, and she had planned to catch up on her sleep instead of having to look after Trixie and deal with Decker's bullshit here. Lucifer hastily reassures her that he does not mind. Quite the contrary, actually. She's welcome to use his bed whenever she wants, preferably with him.

3.15 AU Prompt
After seeing Maze run out of the restaurant in tears, Lucifer becomes worried. He has never seen his demon like that, and he has no idea what could have gotten her into such a state. Whatever it is, it must be serious.
He barely pays attention to the case, and finally leaves Chloe to handle it on her own while he goes after Maze. It takes him a while to track her down, and he finally finds her at their beach, crying. He sits down in the sand beside her and eventually gets her to tell him what happened.
Lucifer is outraged at what his therapist and his brother have done, but for the moment he forces himself to concentrate on his demon. He does his best to comfort her, reminding her that she does still have friends who care about her: the small human, and him. Maze brings up the fact that he hasn't exactly been a good friend to her lately (or ever, really), and Lucifer apologizes and promises to do better. He decides to start by organizing the traditional human way of comforting a friend who is going through a rough breakup (a friendship breakup counts, as far as he is concerned): curling up with your remaining friends with ice cream and movies.

Mazifer Origin AU
Lucifer comes crashing down into Hell at his Fall, landing in a charred, severely injured heap. The only thing keeping the demons down there from attacking him on sight are his wings, because they have survived the fall relatively unscathed and they are burning with divine light. That light hurts the demons. 聽
But there is one particular demon who is not hurt by the divine light. Mazikeen neither fears nor hates the fallen angel. Instead, she sees him as a chance: a chance to protect herself from other demons, to hide in his light, safe from attacks, and finally be able to get some rest. If that means keeping the celestial alive for a little while, it's a price she is willing to pay. And so she approaches him and takes him to her hideout, doing her best to patch the unconscious/barely conscious figure up.
As Lucifer slowly regains consciousness, he is forced to accept her ministrations, and even finds himself grateful for them. And as he gradually heals and becomes stronger, Maze is reluctant to leave his protection, and he doesn't want her to go.

Mazifer Fluff Prompt
To escape the Christmas season with its incessant reminders of family drama Lucifer would prefer to forget, he and Maze go on a little vacation every year. This particular year, Lucifer has chosen a private cabin in a ski resort. Not perhaps the wisest choice, but the two of them manage to stay away from too overtly christmassy events and still have some fun.
One afternoon, they are going for a little walk, and Lucifer decides to start a snowball fight. At first, it is playful, but it quickly escalates until Maze and he are throwing snowballs with full supernatural strength, and Lucifer tries to use his wings to his advantage. 聽

Post 1.07 AU
Whenever her homesicknes for Hell and/or her longing for the way things used to be between her and Lucifer gets too strong, Maze retreats to her room and takes the one feather she saved after Lucifer burned his wings out of its hiding place to look at it and touch it. Unbeknownst to her, touching the feather causes Lucifer to "hear" her thoughts/emotions, similarly to how angels can hear prayers. He only gets snippets and vague impressions since the contact is usually short. Lucifer doesn't really notice them at first, and even when he notices the feelings/thoughts, doesn't realize where they are coming from and mistakes them for something else. Until one evening shortly after 聽he found out about the whole Amenadiel-manipulating-Linda thing. Maze is devastated by the fallout of that revelation and Lucifer's reaction towards her, and she falls asleep with the feather in her hand. And Lucifer, in his bedroom, gets a front row seat to her dreams.

Post Season 4 AU Prompt
Chloe, Linda, and Amenadiel are all willing to accept that Lucifer had no choice but to return to Hell and be its King once more, and believe that there is nothing - short of his Father appointing another sibling to the job - that can change this. But Maze, surprisingly, is not willing to leave Lucifer in Hell. Particularly not without her there to watch his back. And she isn't willing to just return there, either. She has a responsibility as Auntie Maze and as Trixie's friend. So she sets out to find a way to free Lucifer, even if it means forcing one of his siblings to take his place.
