Bobby Moore was just 51 years old when he died. Shortly after his death in 1993, Bobby’s widow Stephanie Moore OBE set up the Bobby Moore Fund to raise money for pioneering bowel cancer research. Since the fund was set up, bowel cancer mortality rates have fallen by over 30%. We have been studying the rivers that feed into Windermere with our partners at WildFish to determine how impactful sewage is to the freshwater ecology of the Lake District National Park and UNESCO World Heritage Site. As of today, we are now live with our first annual report, studying the abundance and diversity of invertebrates (insects) at 6 key river sites, with data collected and analysed by independent expert entomologists Dr Nick Everall and Dr Sam Green. Some of the results are truly shocking. Filmed at MelloMello Jazz Cafe Liverpool UK in November 2012 at an open mic night. I loved MelloMello & am still gutted & annoyed with the local council for not caring about this beautiful venue which sadly played a massive part in its closure. I vaguely remember some of the other poets saying they had been using this same venue for decades. Upon returning to live in the City in 2012 it was an obvious place for me to go to meet friends & drink pots of delicious lemon & ginger tea, I knew about the poetry nights & decided it was the perfect venue to read & test some of my new work from a year long experimental poetry project I was still working on.

Shot on a little pocket Samsung S1065 & a GoPro (I invested in the add on screen & a bunch of kits when I got my GoPro). I had planned on shooting footage from my trusty Canon 500D too but, as I was living on a 22ft yacht with about 4 1/2ft of headroom at the time, the camera was in a safe place on land. I had shot some test footage on the little Samsung at an earlier Poetry night at Mello & was happy enough with the footage; knowing I'd play with it in post.

The Audio was another story; as you can see if you watch the clip from the original Samsung footage on the Vimeo Weekend Challenge Group 5x5 film I made. I was aware of the low quality audio recorded at the venue & knew that the GoPro would give me some extra audio for the mix. To be safe, I plugged my apple headphones into my phone (non Apple, didn't have an iPhone then) & hung the headphones out of my jumper & recorded that. I used the audio from both cameras (mixed down) & used 2x copies of the phone audio recording in the mix.
