Strange octopus-human hybrid twin sisters who want to collect the Heart Comms. Maroon Z is who stole the red Heart Comm from them, so they specifically antagonize her whenever they get the chance. When not antagonizing Maroon Z, they steal clothes and other odds and ends that they want or need. The red/pink one is Octo Coral, and the green one is Octo Algae.
Octo Coral:
Loud, talkative and brave, so she’s kind of the leader of the two. Leaps before she looks, and will do anything to keep her and Algae in the good graces of their boss.
Octo Algae:
Quieter and more reserved than Coral, but is the one who comes up with the best schemes. She’s even good with machinery! Although her and Coral are the same age, she considers herself older, and tries to keep Coral out of danger.

A young woman who recently moved to the big city to attend college. One thing led to another, and she's wound up in possession of a mysterious flip phone-shaped item that lets her transform into a hero... So, she now spends her time fighting the Octo Twins, and making new friends, and unraveling the mystery of what her Heart Comm even is.
Having to be a hero isn't her favorite thing to do, so she can be a little snarky about it. The kind of person to look at something weird and be like, "well, THAT just happened." But, she's also a bit of a romantic, and likes cute things. Basically, she's sweet, but can also be sarcastic. She’s a determined fighter as well!

A mysterious magical girl who works in parallel to Maroon Z, but doesn’t know her yet. An accident in a warehouse led to dozens of bioengineered monsters to escape into city. Pritan escaped at the same time, and bestowed upon Stella the green Heart Comm, allowing her to transform into Celadon S. Now, as mutated monsters continue to attack the city, she spends her free time fighting them.
She's stylish, courageous, likes to help people, and overall is a pretty ideal 'hero'. Can be a bit stand-offish to people she doesn't know very well, but that's mostly because she tends to have a lot on her mind. When with those she does know well, she enjoys being able to just hang out and relax around them.

A mysterious magical fighter with unknown motives. She works as a reporter by day, reporting on the monsters and such that show up in the city and the two heroes that defeat them. But after meeting a fairy named Bravvy, she gains her own transformation device and starts investigating the truth by night.
More than anything, she's somebody who seeks the 'truth'. She's really great at putting on the mysterious persona of Shiny Phantom, but in reality she's kind of silly. Her work as a reporter is incredibly important to her.

A "fairy," they're actually a genetically modified succulent built to assist whoever has the red and green Heart Comms. Due to a lab accident, they were released from the lab before their 'programming' was finished, and they don't remember anything besides their basic purpose.
Has a somewhat innocent personality due to their lack of memories, but quickly grows into a mischievous little thing. Likes Stella a lot better than Zoe, and is considerably nicer to her.

A fairy who came from a different world after seeing that weird stuff was going on in Ocean City. They've given Shirley the powers of Shiny Phantom so that she can find the 'truth', but Bravvy seems to know more about everything than they're letting on...
Personality-wise, they are basically a moody and rebellious teenager.

she has been the oc apple of my eye lately because of the comic so i will talk about zoe :)
what to say about her…. well, something that’s kind of interesting (and is pointed out in the comic super clearly) that the initial thesis of her character is that she wants to live an independent, “normal” life. but the thing with that is that even she doesn’t really know what that looks like.. (and ofc any concept of it gets uprooted by becoming a magical girl). so she has to change her ideal self from a societal ideal of normal to one that incorporates the weirder world of magical girls and bioengineering and complex corporate schemes she’s found herself in.. which is ultimately one that nets her close friends and stuff. so it’s kind of about embracing what’s unusual and more gay/transgender, yknow? it’s that kind of thing.
it’s also not something that’s super apparent yet but zoe starts off kind of selfish… she doesn’t really want to go out of her way to help people or anything because she’s “busy”. this changes pretty fast though… she grows into the archetype of a hero fairly fast, since she recognizes that she’s the only one who can fight the octo twins on a weekly basis, although she’ll still complain about it. becoming friends with stella (who already goes out of her way to help people) helps with that too.
and then this is kind of an aside, but, one of my art goals this year is to learn how to/improve at drawing furries so i’ve been picking out fursonas for various human ocs so i can practice that… i haven’t designed it yet, but zoe’s is a horned owl because her hair tufts kind of look like it (see below)
