FROZEN
Tumblr media
As you can see in the picture I know that you all know this picture well. I analyzed this image in detail. I found some hints in it. Firstly: Look at the two trees on the sides They remind me of the forest, and the shape of the two trees resembles the trees on the cover of the book Forest of Shadows and also the poster for Frozen 2
Tumblr media
secondly: Northern lights in the photo You remember Anna's words: The sky woke up and woke up Is there a hint or similarity between the incident between Elsa and Anna when she hit Anna on the head with ice and that night the northern lights appeared in the sky? I'll analyze that later.
Tumblr media
Third: Troll It appears as a villain or the shape has been darkened to appear mysterious and of unknown shape and identity We know the only one who can do that is troll Pabbie I will come back with a detailed analysis.
Tumblr media
Fourthly: The white smoke coming out of that old man's head It's similar to what happened with Anna when her head was frozen That white smoke, I think it's ice, means that old man's head was frozen The troll is extracting ice from his head. I will also come back to analyze this.
Tumblr media
Fifth: the king That old man lying on the stone bed He looks like a king, not a soldier or an ordinary man I will also come back to analyze this
Random image
Tumblr media
Sixthly: Emblem of the Kingdom of Arendelle The emblem on that king's clothing is the emblem of the Kingdom of Arendelle Even the king's clothes bear the colors of Arendelle I will come back to analyze that

Continuation of my expectations for Frozen 3/4:
Tumblr media
I always come back to Pabbie troll: *In Frozen 1: The troll warned Elsa that her strength would grow with her and fear would be her enemy. The troll warned Elsa in the vision that everyone would attack her. This happened during the coronation ceremony. *In Frozen 2: The troll warned Elsa that her power was too great for this world. He said to her: You do not know what you brought to this world after awakening the spirits of the forest. He warned Anna that she must be careful with Elsa so that she does not dive into the depths of the sound and lose her life. Anna promised him that she would not let anything bad happen to Elsa. These were the predictions we saw and said by the troll and they happened. But the common warning that has not happened yet is that he has always warned Elsa that her power is too great for this world. *In Frozen 3: A continuation of my previous prediction that Elsa will be seduced by her power, lose her good spirit, turn into greedy, and have her power taken away from her: okay: I expect that the next troll's warning and predictions in Frozen 3 are: The troll will tell Elsa that her power will enter a new, major and decisive turning point. That's why Elsa must be careful of her power. Your strength has its beauty and its other frightening side. He will warn Elsa not to seek power. He will warn Elsa not to get carried away with her power. He will warn Elsa not to get carried away by power. He will warn Elsa not to let her heart become tainted by greed. He will advise Elsa to listen to the spirits of nature and warn her not to be carried away by greater forces. He will warn Elsa that spirits will turn against her if she goes against her direction. He will warn Elsa about herself and her desires. But Elsa, unfortunately, will make her biggest and most dangerous mistake. She will be judged by the spirits and by the Athalan. Elsa will lose herself. These are my current expectations. Wait for another sequel.

My new theories for the movie Frozen 3/4
Tumblr media
Well, I got a new idea about what will happen with Elsa in Frozen 3/4. Power. Power is a double-edged sword. Elsa was always afraid of her powers, but she learned how to control them. The troll had always belittled Elsa's power and that she was too big for this world. The troll always warned of Elsa's power and that she would grow more and more with her. We all know that her strength will grow with her as she gets older. Jennifer Lee gave us a hint that the events of the two films will be about Elsa's growing strength. What came to my mind is that magic power can seduce its owner. Maybe Elsa's magic will capture her heart and desires. Elsa's kindness will turn into greed. Perhaps power will lead her to greed to obtain greater power. Perhaps Elsa will lose control of herself, that is, directing her power for good. It means she will get greedy. The more money a person has, the more he becomes greedy to get more and may take devious paths. The more the magician acquires magical powers, the more greed takes over his heart to obtain greater power. Perhaps the new struggle will be against greed and avarice, which may infect Elsa's heart and turn her into evil, perhaps. Perhaps here the four spirits will stand against her. Perhaps Atahalan will rob Elsa of her power as punishment for her heart being tainted by greed and covetousness. Perhaps the motive of greed and greed that tainted Elsa's heart was noble in the beginning. Because in the beginnings the intention is always noble and sincere, but it takes a wrong turn. Perhaps Elsa wanted to do something by gaining additional power to protect the forest and the kingdom, but she fell into the forbidden, her heart was tainted, and she became a real threat to the entire world. Here the souls come together with one word, which is to reject what Elsa is doing, and thus her power may be taken away. The same thing happened to the previous owner of the Fifth Soul, greed and avarice tainted his heart, and Atahalan sentenced him to deprivation of power and ostracism. Perhaps many years passed before the new host of the fifth spirit appeared, which was Elsa. Perhaps the power of the Fifth Spirit is a double-edged sword like snow that has its own beauty and danger. This is what will happen to Elsa. She will fall victim to the negatives of the fifth spirit. Perhaps here Hans played a role in the events, as he was also greedy to obtain influence and power. Perhaps he learned a lesson from what happened to him previously, and perhaps he played a role in restoring Elsa’s confidence with her sister Anna. This is one of my predictions for what will happen in Frozen 3/4

Jennifer Lee on Frozen 3 and 4 in a podcast with Heart ♡︎
Tumblr media
Exactly a week ago Heart dropped a podcast with Jennifer Lee discussing Wish, Disney and Frozen 3 and 4.
From 4:04 onwards they start talking about the upcoming Frozen movies. Here's the link or if you can't have a listen, have a read of what she says in response to the questions:
youtube
Heart: “And talking about characters, I have to talk about Frozen because I absolutely love Frozen... But are they coming back and will Elsa find love?”
Jen: “Well they are coming back. Big Iger himself leaked it, that we got so much story that we're working on now, it looks like it's gonna be two films. Cause it's so big where they're going next. And Elsa's got a lot to do, so, and I can't give anything away to say what's gonna happen but Anna as well. And Anna's you know, I feel very connected to her, the ordinary hero, I don't have any magic. But I'm really excited. The amazing thing to me is always how these two sisters as we start looking at their journey, they keep surprising us and telling us, showing us what they're capable of. So I'm definitely excited about where we're going.”
Heart: “So does Elsa find love?”
Jen: “I can't give anything away, I can't tell you anything. All I want to say is that anyone who thinks they've heard anything they are not true, there's no leak, nothing has left our vaulted story room and the only leak is what Bob Iger leaked himself.”
So it's clear that Frozen 3 and 4 will be one story split into two movies like previous franchises have done. That's because the story is so big and they don't want to rush it or cram it into one. This logically speaking is a very clever and wise thing to do. Everyone knows no one can enjoy a good story when it's rushed and not long enough. Disney would be the first to make its own projects, have a part 1 and 2. Marvel has done it before with Avengers Infinity War and Endgame and Sony has done it with its Spider-verse films, and there's Dune and more. I mean we all thought Frozen 2's events were big imagine what else is in store for us!
Jennifer Lee has not confirmed or denied the possibility of Elsa getting a love interest. Really we could say it's because she doesn't want to break the Hearst of those who ship Elsa with someone and those who don't, meaning the answer on whether or not she does or not will be in the movie.
Lee also tells us that Elsa and Anna will have a lot to do this time round which means we're in for a ride as the sisters themselves! Like it's exciting because this next big story is literally unpredictable. Frozen could go anywhere. So much ground is left to be explored. We can guess but I'm almost certain our guesses will be nothing like what they've got planned!
As far as leaks go there have been no leaks on either Frozen 3 or 4. So anything anyone says here or on twitter is not true! With this next story being so big to be split into two they're keeping their story room strictly sealed.
Slowly, Jennifer is keeping us fed with little details as well as subtle ones. Teasing us well but not revealing much, not even who this new director is, yet.

Hinata Vs Sakura: How much their husbands care for them.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Look at the sheer anger on his face over Hinata’s well being. When’s Sasuke even shown 1/5th this much emotion to Sakura?
Tumblr media
Naruto notes that Hinata getting attacked, NOT even killed, triggered his anger and rage, prompting him to willingly give in to Kurama. That’s powerful stuff.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Naruto’s heart skipping a beat simply over realizing Hinata, of all the people, was caught in IT, didn’t even hesitate for second to ditch Sakura and Sasuke, you know, the two people SS stans love to pretend are the only people he cares for, to go save her.
Tumblr media
Now Sasuke
Tumblr media
At this point in time, Sasuke isn’t even evil. Mentally, he plans on killing NO ONE but the 5 Kages, and Naruto, yet still gave zero damns about Sakura melting in a pool of lava.
And of course we have the constant rejection of kissing and 10+ years of absence,
So much love. So much care.

I am convinced Wish straight up stole the story from the Stardust episode in Kizazi Moto: Generation Fire. How so?
-A gathering ceremony of a man called the Oracle granting “destinies” to people that become of age
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
-Setting is set in a North African region (Egypt most likely) and the MC(Nawara) is most likely Amazigh. This is based on her design, and what I’ve seen Amazigh people tend to wear-take my words with a grain of salt. But even if that is not the case, Nawara’s design shares similarities with Asha’s concept art
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
-Similar tower observatory structure because the Oracle, like Magnifico, look into astrology for their source of power
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
-An MC that approaches the Oracle for the intention for her own ambitions being granted
Tumblr media Tumblr media
-The MC feels wronged when denied their wishes/destinies, and plans to steal them
Tumblr media Tumblr media
-There is great emphasis on a fallen Star. Stars in general, but mainly this particular “wishing Star”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
-She becomes the apprentice of the Oracle(he’s not actually a villain, but alluded to be). Hey Remember when Asha applied to be an assistant, and that was never explored on what they do?
Tumblr media
-The story is essentially telling you that you can make your own wishes/destinies come true
-Literally has Nawara end the short saying “nothing but this!” (Look at lyrics of This Wish)
Taking into account that Kizazi Moto is region locked with Disney+ (I don’t think most African countries can even watch it), and that Disney barely advertised the show, I would not be surprised they scrapped everything they originally had, just to poorly mimic this story. There are just way too many similarities between these two for it all to be a coincidence
Kizazi Moto has been in development for years btw, so yes it is possible for Disney to steal aspects of the premise for Wish
It would explain why Wish’s characters and plot barely get any development and just feel empty. This one short was able to immerse us in a finished world building perspective. The city in Stardust actually feels magical, and the MC changes by the end of the story. Feel like the reason Wish failed in these aspects is partly because they tried to mimic Stardust, but divorced it from its own lore and context. And so you just have a movie of nothing
Disney has always had a habit of stealing works from others to make profit. Remember when they tried to copyright Hakuna Matata?
I’m already mad they hardly advertised Kizazi Moto to begin with, but now I am more mad at the fact that an 8 min short did Wish better in every aspect, and it’s probably because Wish stole these concepts from African animators like Ahmed Teliab(directed and written Stardust)
And there are other cool episodes in Generation Fire, I would appreciate y’all checking out. African animators and writers hardly get any recognition for their talents.
Even if Wish really didn’t steal this episode’s concepts, again, Stardust does everything better than Wish in every way
Conclusion: Go watch Kizazi Moto, but yknow pirate it. They don’t even show the series in African countries anyways. You might as well look into their works, and support them. The company supporting a genocide with some of those African countries, ain’t going to care about them

Frozen 3 - What We Know So Far - 2023
Tumblr media
(NOTE: Image above is not concept art for F3. It is from F2.)
I wanted to do an overview post of everything we've learned this year about F3. I want to keep track of all news related to this project so that we can avoid misunderstandings and fan theories overrunning the films' development, like with what happened with F1 and F2.
To note, from now on I'm pretty much combining F3 and F4 (or F3 part 2) as a single project until we learn more about them. They are pretty much confirmed to be the same story anyway, so it makes sense to just put them together. Thus, if you want to know about F4 on my blog, it will be under the #frozen 3 news tag that I feature on my page.
I want to give shout outs to @ericmicael, @frozen-snowflakesandsunflowers, @frozensnetwork, and @bigfrozenfan for actually being the ones to provide some the sources below. I don't want to take all the credit for finding this info.
If any more info drops in December, or I discover more news released in 2023 in general, I will update this post.
Overview of What We Know
The idea of Frozen 3 came from Marc Smith, the Story Director of Frozen 2, and the story is so large that it will be separated into two films. There is no official release date, or info regarding how the two films will be released.
Jennifer Lee is overseeing the project and keeping up with it, but is not writing or directing as of 2023. This may change later on, however as of now, Lee is not behind the creative process.
It is currently unknown if Chris Buck will return as director, and there is no news on who is directing or writing the films, other than Marc Smith coming up with the initial idea.
Idina Menzel and Josh Gad have officially announced their involvement. However, Kristen Bell and Jonathan Groff have not officially announced their returns. It is sort of obvious that they will return, especially with Bell saying that they are all ready to return, but just wanted to establish that they have not publicly stated this yet since the announcement. As for other cast members, no one has stated yet that they will return as of 2023.
Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Bobby Lopez are returning to write the songs, and have also confirmed that the story will be two films.
Jennifer Lee continued to push that no other entry other than the main films are canon to the newest project. Thus, the Frozen Podcast that was announced alongside F3 and misrepresented as a lead up to F3, is not considered canon.
There is very little known about the story, however, it may be about Elsa and Anna being very busy in their new roles. There is also some hints about Elsa's powers possibly growing.
More detailed news with sources below the read more.
---
As a quick shout out, in the year 2022, Kristen Bell had actually hinted at Frozen 3. At the time, this was considered a joke since Kristen Bell loves to push for more Frozen sequels (and honestly, it probably still is a very coincidental joke haha), however now that we know that F3 was possibly in development at this time, this may of been the first official hint at F3 that we ever received.
youtube
"I would like to officially announce, with zero authority, Frozen 3. I know Idina recently said she would do it. And I feel like if we're all in, what are we waiting for?" -- Kristen Bell, Voice of Anna
---
The first bit of information we received about F3 in 2023 was the announcement itself. In early February, Frozen 3 was announced to be in development along side Toy Story 5 and Zootopia 2.
“Today I’m so pleased to announce that we have sequels in the works from our animation studios to some of our most popular franchises, Toy Story, Frozen and Zootopia. We’ll have more to share about these productions soon, but this is a great example of how we’re leaning into our unrivaled brands and franchises.” -- Bob Iger, Disney CEO
---
At the same time, Kristen Anderson-Lopez further confirmed this, indirectly announcing that the Lopezes would return to write the songs for the new film.
Tumblr media
---
On the same day, Josh Gad confirmed (inserting link in case video doesn't load) that he was ready to return to the film.
Tumblr media
---
In June, we received new information about the film in regards to Jennifer Lee's involvement. As of 2023, Jennifer Lee is only overseeing the project, but not writing or directing it. In this announcement, (which is actually bit misleading since, as said, Jennifer Lee is still returning to the project, just not fully as writer/director) Lee hinted that someone else came up with the idea of Frozen 3, and it had become their project. This led to many fans assuming that this new person was the new director/writer.
“I can’t say where we are. All our stories are driven by the artists in the studio. Where we’re going with Frozen did not come from me, it came from an incredible person. That’s a new piece, I’ve told no one. And I’ve been blown away by it and I’m just having a blast with that team.” -- Jennifer Lee, Disney Animation Studios Chief Creative Officer
---
In the same month, Idina Menzel confirmed her return as Elsa. However, she stated that she didn't know too much about the project itself and said that they only teased her about it.
“I don’t know a lot. To be completely honest, they teased it to us, and I have no idea. They don’t show you a script. They don’t show you anything. All I know is, yeah we are gonna make one, and that’s it. So, I’m like, ‘Cool! I will be able to pay my bills." --Idina Menzel, Voice of Elsa
---
A Month later, Idina continued to drop small tidbits of what she knows (barely anything apparently haha) about F3 in another interview with This Morning.
youtube
"Yes...it's happening I was told, I mean you know nothing's been signed but I'm very excited if it is happening- I swear to you I'm not being elusive...I haven't seen a script." --Idina Menzel, Voice of Elsa
---
Later in October, we got more info about the film's creative team and how involved Jennifer Lee actually is on the project. Lee announced that the incredible person who came up with the idea of F3 was Marc Smith, Director of story for F2. She also stated that she was blown away by the progress on the project.
“Every morning last week they carved out space for me to work with the creative team on it, and I am blown away and I am so excited. I don’t know what I’m doing on it yet — I’m not doing nothing — except doing what I do now, which is we work on every project as as team and I’m in there with creative. But with ‘Frozen,’ just a little bit more. Our philosophy is this, and it won’t change: If there is more story to tell, the filmmakers have to drive it. And I’ll say with ‘Frozen,’ Marc Smith, who was our director of story on ‘Frozen 2,’ came with an incredible idea for more ‘Frozen,’ and it’s worth it." -- Jennifer Lee, Disney Animation Studios Chief Creative Officer
---
Jennifer Lee later confirmed this information again in another interview within the same month, and also pushed that the Frozen Podcast: Forces of Nature, is not canon the the newest project.
The idea for Frozen 3, she continues, came from Marc Smith, head of story on Frozen II. “Growing it out from there feels right because it’s coming with vision, it’s coming with purpose." Lee can't say much about what the sequel entails, but when asked if fans should be paying close attention to the current Frozen story being told on the Forces of Nature podcast series, she's hesitant to consider the audio offering canon. In my head, the films will always stay canon. Anything done outside of that, we give them permission to have their own identity. They may not be canon. I still encourage it because I think it’s fun to explore. But don’t hold us to anything except what we put in those features. That’s just me. I don’t want to disappoint anyone. But I also want to say I love that other artists get inspired, and I love the idea of the Frozen story.” -- Jennifer Lee, Disney Animation Studios Chief Creative Officer
---
The biggest shock that shook the entire fandom and internet culture, was when Bob Iger dropped the reveal that a Frozen 4 was also in the works at the studio in November.
youtube
‘Frozen 3’ is in the works, and there might be a ‘Frozen 4’ in the works too. But I don’t have much to say about those films right now. Jenn Lee, who created the original ‘Frozen’ and ‘Frozen 2,’ is hard at work with her team at Disney animation on not one but actually two stories.” -- Bob Iger, Disney CEO
---
Along side the above announcement, Kristen Anderson-Lopez also confirmed the fourth film.
Tumblr media
---
Later on in the same month, Jennifer Lee gave more back ground on the idea of two films, and indirectly confirmed that the films would be one story told across two installments.
"We're really excited about where they're going, and we just have a lot of story to tell with that direction we're going in. So, I think, in my head, there may be enough for two in that story. But I'm really, really loving working with the team and where they're going." --Jennifer Lee, Disney Animation Studios Chief Creative Officer
---
In November as well, This tweet (linking here just in case the video below doesn't work) started to pick up steam and was posted by a verified account - however, it is still iffy on whether or not this info was for F3 or was just taken from an interview about F2 and repurposed to be about F3. If it is genuine, then Jennifer Lee hints here that the story will possibly involve Elsa's powers growing.
Tumblr media
"I will tell you what I think philosophically, that isn't telling you what is in [Frozen 3]. I think Anna and Elsa's journey is only continuing. It was warned by the Trolls that that Elsa's powers would only grow. So, that's all I will say." --Jennifer Lee, Disney Animation Studios Chief Creative Officer
---
In December, Jennifer Lee did another interview with Heart where she actually revealed a tiny bit more about Frozen 3's story. She goes on to say that Elsa and Anna will be very busy in the next project.
youtube
“Well they are coming back. Big Iger himself leaked it, that we got so much story that we’re working on now, it looks like it’s gonna be two films. Cause it’s so big where they’re going next. And Elsa’s got a lot to do, so, and I can’t give anything away to say what’s gonna happen but Anna as well. The amazing thing to me is always how these two sisters as we start looking at their journey, they keep surprising us and telling us, showing us what they’re capable of. So I’m definitely excited about where we’re going.” So does Elsa find love? “I can’t give anything away, I can’t tell you anything. All I want to say is that anyone who thinks they’ve heard anything they are not true, there’s no leak, nothing has left our vaulted story room and the only leak is what Bob Iger leaked himself.” --Jennifer Lee, Disney Animation Studios Chief Creative Officer

Royals’ Battle
Before I read the new post-Frozen II novel, Polar Nights, I was hoping that it would especially feature some new information about Runeard and Rita, and much to my delight, it did, and they played HUGE roles in the flow of the story, even as posthumous characters! 😁😁😁
In the book, Anna and Elsa learn from Kristoff the story of Princesses Sissel and her younger sister, Inger, who were from the neighboring kingdom of Vesterland. He says that the sisters hated each other and Inger wanted the crown for herself. About fifty years ago, the two sisters were visiting Arendelle regarding their kingdom being asked to contribute in funding the building of the dam in the Enchanted Forest. At one point, when Sissel and Inger were alone together near a rushing river, Inger pushed her sister into the river and Sissel eventually drowned when she went over a waterfall. A witness reported the murder to King Runeard, who banished Inger from Arendelle (and Vesterland) and put her on a prison ship, which went down in the sea, causing Inger to die by drowning, too. And despite her death, Sissel came back from the dead as a creature called a draugr, seeking revenge on those who wronged her.
Naturally, Anna and Elsa are shocked by the story, particularly by how their grandfather had done something good and just…
…but as the novel unfolds, the sisters discovers that the entire story surrounding Sissel’s death and Inger being accused of murder was a lie.
Halfway into the book, after the sisters have had several encounters with the draugr and deduced it is actually Sissel, Elsa conjures up the memory of what really happened on the day of Sissel’s death using traces of water that have remained in a locket that Sissel was wearing the day she died (brought to Elsa by the draugr itself). Elsa and Anna discover that, not only were Sissel and Inger very close and that Inger was more interested in science and the environment (and thus did not want to be queen nor aimed to steal the throne from her sister), but Inger had figured out that the dam would cut off the water flow and cause other environmental devastations to the forest. It would also affect Vesterland by depleting animals that the citizens hunt for food. She was arguing with Sissel over this matter by the river, and while Sissel understood what Inger was saying, she felt they would be powerless to stop Runeard since he would not listen to them and did not care about the negative consequences of his desired project affecting the Northuldra or Vesterland. Sissel was also terrified of Runeard to the point that she feared standing up to him, as she believed arguing with him over the matter would only lead to him punishing Vesterland by cutting off their trading partnership with Arendelle, since Arendelle controls the port that allows food, medicine, and other goods to come in from other kingdoms and travel to Vesterland. But due to Inger’s persistence about how harmful the dam would also be to their kingdom, Sissel finally relented and decided to request another audience in Arendelle to tell Runeard that Vesterland would not help with building the dam.
However, no sooner than the sisters were feeling better about the matter that a flash flood occurred. Inger got in the way of the rushing water as it headed down the river, and when SIssel pushed her out of the way to escape harm, she tripped on a tree root and fell into the rushing water. As she was pulled downstream, Sissel struggled against the strong current and tried to grab something to help her get back to shore. She yelled for her sister to help her, and Inger chased after Sissel on the river bank. When Sissel managed to grab on to a branch near the shore, the witness from Kristoff’s story, a shepherd boy named Stig Petter, raced to help Sissel. Sadly, with the branch breaking as she held on, Sissel accepted her fate to die. Before she let go and went over the falls, she told Inger that she loved her and was proud of her. As a distraught Inger mourned the loss of her sister, Stig vowed to help Inger.
Following the end of the memory, Anna and Elsa realize that the draugr of Sissel was never trying to harm them or anyone else, but rather has been trying to clear her sister’s name and has removed some memories of the Arendellians so that they don’t remember the false story regarding her death. Elsa and Anna search through Arendelle’s court records to find more information, discovering that Stig lied and said that Inger had murdered Sissel by pushing her into the river, and the court believed Stig instead of Inger. Upon finding and meeting the elderly Stig to get the truth, Anna and Elsa further learn that Stig was actually blackmailed by Runeard to lie and say that Inger murdered her sister. The former king of Arendelle told Stig that he had to lie or he (Runeard) would tell everyone that Stig helped Inger murder Sissel and he’d have him imprisoned, too (or possibly executed). This was because Runeard (presumably) learned that the sisters were planning to voice their opposition of the dam and would not let their kingdom help fund its construction. In doing so, they would have also told other kingdoms that the dam would actually harm, not help, the forest and convince these kingdoms not to help with building it, either.
Without the funds needed to build the dam, the project would never get off the ground, and Runeard could have been exposed as a liar and traitor. Even with Sissel dead, Inger would have never stopped fighting to make sure Runeard could not build the dam. But being the stubborn, xenophobic tyrant who was ruthlessly obsessed with protecting his power and set on destroying the threat he believed the Northuldra posed to him, Runeard refused to let his plan be ruined at any cost, even if that meant lying and harming innocent people. So even with a witness present to the real account of Sissel’s death, the king took advantage of the situation by framing Inger for murder and put her on a ship to get rid of her for good, eliminating the sole opposition to his goal.
Yet while Inger couldn’t save her sister or stop Runeard from building the dam, she did manage to escape the terrible fate that almost befell her. Having gotten to know both sisters during their visit, and knowing what a cruel man her husband was, Queen Rita was the only one (besides Stig) who believed in Inger’s innocence. Though she tried to defend Inger in the court, Runeard adamantly refused to let her speak and banished her to her chambers. Not wanting an innocent woman to be condemned for a crime she never committed, Rita secretly helped Inger escape the prison ship (and Arendelle) before it set sail (which was seen by Stig). She paid several men to take Inger off the ship and gave her safe passage to another. Inger was also warned by Rita to never return to Arendelle since she would surely be recaptured and put to death if she did.
All that being said, what this book revealed about Runeard and Rita’s relationship further reinforces what I have believed about them from Dangerous Secrets, but most especially the former in what kind of man he really was: a cold-hearted, selfish, bigoted, power-hungry scoundrel who never cared about anyone or anything other than his kingship and the power it granted him. Runeard’s position as king made him believe that he could do whatever he wanted, that he was always in the right to do so, that he was never wrong, and he didn’t care how his actions could affect others unless they could still provide benefit for himself. But most of all, Runeard believed being a king meant that he was better than everyone else since he was in the highest place in society.
As I’ve said before, and I’ll say it once again, Runeard viewed all other people beneath him, especially peasants (like the Northuldra and shepherds like Stig), and refused to treat them fairly or equally.
Such views are shown perfectly by the fact that he laughed in scorn when Stig said he would tell others about Runeard’s threats. Runeard also said that no one would ever believe him because he is a poor shepherd, meaning that (to him, at least) no one would ever believe the word of a lowly shepherd over the mighty king of Arendelle.
But most importantly of all, Runeard’s behavior towards Rita completely support what I have said in “There Goes the Bride”. Being the king, it’s crystal clear that Runeard felt that HE had more power and authority than everyone, even more than Rita, the queen and his own wife. Therefore, only HE had first and final say in EVERY decision made, and that not even the opinions of others, including his wife and the people he ruled, were important. The fact that Rita tried to voice her belief that Inger was innocent, but Runeard harshly silenced her and sent her out of the royal court (he possibly even locked her in her chambers so she couldn’t interfere) reinforces what I believed in him trying to control her and having seen her as his inferior, not his equal partner.
Ultimately, Polar Nights helped prove that Runeard was so hellbent on creating the dam just to bring down the Northuldra that he sought to keep even Rita out of his way when she became a liability to his scheme. 😠😡
But since Inger managed to escape with Rita’s help, she managed to live a long life (though she never became the ruler of Vesterland) and had a family (including a granddaughter named after her deceased great-aunt). And in the end of the book, Inger returns to Arendelle and manages to reunite with the spirit of Sissel after the draugr sheds her form following the truth being revealed about her death. 🥲😭
