To be fair to the Han Solo movie: "solving the problem nobody had by answering every oblique reference in the movies" is literally the entire expanded universe of books. The difference between "Han Solo got his last name that way because he's an orphan" and "the Solo family are displaced royalty who got Revolutioned out a millenia ago" is that one is a book from 1994 and the other is a Disney movie from 2018.
Hm. I dunno if we have to be fair to it just because the mistake it made was a mistake the entire timeline it disavowed was making first

as someone who got 2 concussions this year and inhaled toxic substances at the workplace i can confidently inform you all that all characters in the star wars prequels are absolved of stupidity. they're all dumb as a box of rocks but its not their fault that no one made them wear helmets in wartime. the introduction of SPOSHA (space OSHA) would reduce incidences of darth vader creation by at least one i just know it
