aita for trying to summon a god to resurrect my wife?

i (142m) recently lost my wife (139f) to terminal illness. we were married for nearly 127 years, and were survivors of a disaster that destroyed our home city and killed nearly everyone in it. she was my best friend, the love of my life, and the light of my world. i’ve spent months trying to move on, but the pain of losing her has only grown stronger since her death, with my grief eventually leading me to quit my job and travel in the hopes of finding something else to live for. i will be upfront in admitting that, in the process of quitting, i blew up the school i worked at (no one was hurt), almost killed my assistant (he’s fine), and released a bunch of monsters from the abandoned gated community i had contained them in a few decades prior (long story).

anyway, during my travels i came across a relic that contained immense necromantic power, but i quickly realized that i would be unable to utilize it for my purposes on my own, as my wife had been dead for several months by that time and was well past the point of resurrection by conventional means. long story short, i decided to harness the power of the same god that caused the disaster that destroyed my and my wife’s former home.

as it turns out, my former boss (????m) picked up a kid (13x) off the street around the same time this was happening, and tasked my brother (also 142m, we’re twins) with teaching them magic. i won’t bore you with the details, but this thirteen year old now keeps following me around and fucking up my plans to reunite with my true love, which i’m frankly tired of.

(side note: this kid also won a fighting competition that hasn’t been won by someone from our school since i attended. i need to remind you, they are thirteen. i’m not certain they’d ever used magic before my boss picked them up, so i have no idea how this possibly could have happened, or when they had the time to even attend the fights since they’ve seemingly dedicated the majority of their time to fucking me over for no good reason.)

my ex-boss seems to think that summoning this being is a “bad idea” and could “destroy the world,” but 1. i’m doing it in my already ruined hometown and 2. i think that the world is a small price to pay to have my wife back. it’s not like it’s worth much without her in it, anyway.

edit: shut up about the fucking giant tree it’s an unrelated current event. you can’t prove that i actually did anything to him, and it’s rude to accuse people baselessly

Alright now I'm thinking about Malistaire and Sylvia specifically like the information we get about Sylvia in the BOXES event

Because if anything I feel like that event just made it very clear they were such a perfect match like you are telling me if Sylvia and Malistaire hadn't made up she would of been such a successful general she would of basically conquered the spiral despite being pushed into this position way too fast?? AND despite that not happening she ends up with the guy that would go to the ends of the spiral to any measure necessary to bring her back ???

There is something about their extreme drive and passion and being able to conqueror the spiral that makes me feel like they are a perfect match on top of already being like canonly together

Ravenwood is closed for a couple of days, some myth wizard summoned a beast we don't even have a name for yet and it's running rampant. The one graduate wizard who usually deals with this shit isn't returning my calls so I have to deal with it myself

I think I've already said this once before but I really wish there was a feature in Wizard101 where important events, lore, and dialogue in the game were documented somewhere so we can view them whenever we want. like unless we video record the events while it happens, take pictures, or just go through the whole entire fucking plot with another wizard character there's no way to ever revisit those moments and that SUCKS??????? like wizard101 has some of the best lore ive ever seen and I don't wanna have to level up my wizard all the way to level 100 just to see that iconic grandfather spider scene or grind through azteca just to find that one epic fourth wall breaking moment 💀 i want to revisit all the incredible and funny and weird shit we've all gone through Immediately. Like damn remodel the library so that it actually keeps records and dated films of the things we've gone through so it can actually be useful instead of it being Just A Building (rants about this for so long that even Jesus smacks His lips)

It really friggin is. Like, he's positioned to be this horrible teacher and, there's this shade thrown at him early on about how, oooooooh is he evil too? NO, the guy's whole world just got WRECKED because of a nasty cold and again, suddenly you are there being celebrated as the chosen one to take down his brother. I talk about gourmet therapy for the Wizard, WHERE IS THE THERAPY FOR CYRUS FRIGGIN DRAKE, HUH? WHERE IS HIS GRIEF COUNCELLING???

It is always feeling bad for Cyrus Drake hours in this house and I need to find that fanfiction again where Cyrus is the only one to show The Wizard sympathy after Azteca because he is the only one at Ravenwood who had experience dealing with any sort of all consuming GRIEF.

Im not saying the Wizard should totally become a full on villain or anything but it they ended up popping the fuck out of Ambrose or someone else after a passive aggressive/jealous/fearful comment or rumor about them, that would be Acceptable actually :)

If you've played the BOXES event you know that Cyrus was an artist. He loved painting. He was a NICE GUY. Sure it's implied he's always been strict but he wasn't a raging bag of dicks or anything. And then, like, TEN MINUTES BEFORE YOU SHOW UP, his sister in law dies and his brother goes insane and suddenly he's there expected to just go on being a damn teacher because, breaking news, the new savior of the spiral has arrived and IMMEDIATELY has a duel with his fallen brother and... and...

One of the things that brings me sm joy is how even though Cyrus is a jerk a solid 75% of the time, whenever he’s talking about something myth related (Aquila, or the entry quests of Azteca) you can literally HEAR in the voice acting how legit passionate he is about it.

Like yea, the man clearly doesn’t have the temperament for the education field (and needs some serious post Malistaire therapy) but you can’t say he isn’t legitimately passionate about Myth, and it’s so heartwarming to see him happy about something when so much of his storylines are depressing as all hell.
