Vale recently bought a small house in the hopes that he could be alone in his personal time. But one night he met a current occupant of the house.
Tumblr media
What looked like an old rabbit plush turned out to be a ghost named Hazy, who wasn't aware the house was for sale...so the new guest needed to be looked into when the opportunity was right.
Tumblr media
It doesn't look particularly good for Vale, but he could've gone through a lot worse than just waking up trapped by a ghost.
It's perhaps more unfortunate that he won't be alone when at home...but maybe things will work out once they get to know each other.
---
I fixed up Vale's look a bit. No more blatant buck teeth, and his hair is a little different. He's also wearing something different when at home; the same V-neck shirt, but dark grey shorts to keep cool.

A comic relating to commissions. I go through this somewhat frequently.
(Still trying to pin down how to draw Vale.)

A very nice image of Van! Some bad memories are hard for him to forget. But as long as he has Pan nearby, he'll have the strength to keep going.

So I got involved in an art trade with @sp-art-gallery ... not something I'm used to doing, but I seemed ready to give it a try. He wanted to see my rendition of his character Remi, a college student with some artistic talent. Apparently she has an affinity for pastel aesthetics and chickens, so...
Tumblr media
Here she is trying out a drawing tablet, making a chicken with pastel colors! She seems rather impressed with the results.
But it apparently attracted someone else's attention...
Tumblr media
(A little bonus I wanted to draw when I plotted out the initial picture. I also tried to replicate the character quotes how @sp-art-gallery does it, though it's a different font here.)
...It was a fun set of pictures to do. :)

Vale
Tumblr media
Wasn't in the best of moods when making this fellow. However, this was the third attempt at making this design, and my mood kept changing with each try.
I had named him Vale. He's some kind of rodent, though I don't know how big he actually is. Probably not very tall, though.

Graphite's Infernal State
Tumblr media
The excess energy of Teijru, and all fervals in general, is known as "fervor." Often displaying properties of fire and electricity, it typically clings close to most fervals and can be manipulated via extrasensory abilities. If all the fervor is forced within the ferval's body, it can lead to the inner workings of the body going much faster. This allows the ferval to become stronger and faster, and can help the body heal significant wounds in seconds. But this can stress the body when used for prolonged periods of time, potentially leading to hyperventilation, seizures, and heart and/or brain damage, among other things. This is officially referred to as self-induced hyperfervor; to some, it's called an Infernal State.
This illustration shows Graphite in the Infernal State. He utilizes it the most out of anyone on Kheji, and is the driving force behind his Sforzando technique -- striking "suddenly with great force." He can perform complex, powerful moves almost instantly, one after another, by inducing the Infernal State in very brief instances. With the amount of fervor he possesses, he can perform several powerful attacks and still stand steady. That doesn't mean he's fully avoiding the dangerous risks of hyperfervor, but considering he's accepted death as a constant possibility in his line of work, he's not so worried about his well-being so long as he can defeat threats effectively.

Bugging Rudd
Taking a Leap of faith posting these.
This is a series of images I made that I eventually entitled "Bugging Rudd." What was once an odd alternate version of the Beeby illustration ended up becoming a small story. I don't typically share these sorts of images, but in the one place I did they seemed to be received fairly well, and I was unsure if the same reception would be found elsewhere. So that's what led to this post.
The story goes something like this:
One day a Leppicorn named Rudd got on the bad side of another Esper Beast (one I've yet to introduce). The Beast retaliated by using its Psychic Force to summon Beebies and trap Rudd in a hive made of solid "BeebyWax." When the Beebies regained control of their minds, they found Rudd stuck in an awkward situation and were both confused and curious as to what happened.
Tumblr media
As they investigated Rudd, they noticed he was reacting to an odd weakness as they were scratching around. Becoming even more curious, the Beebies started to look into this even more as Rudd desperately cried out for help between helpless laughter...
Eventually his cries would be heard by two Leppicorn friends, who managed to shoo the Beebies away. But they found Rudd's predicament to be so ridiculous that they eventually tormented him a bit further before finally breaking him free.
Tumblr media
After that, they would continue to laugh at and tease him, even giving him the nickname of "Honey Bunny." Humiliated, Rudd was already deliberating on some form of retribution.
When he was finally able to be alone, Rudd happened upon a small Tortula named Maeve, attempting to set a web trap in the woods. Surprised that Rudd found her, she begged not to be smashed flat. But finding her gave him an idea, and he offered a proposition that would benefit both of them...
A few days later, the two other Leppicorn found Rudd looking around by a large tree. As they approached him to find out what was up, he signaled Maeve to spring her trap. In the blink of an eye, the two Leppicorn were suddenly snapped up in soul web, pinned against the tree and unable to escape. After Maeve further secured the two, she and Rudd would begin to torment the pair.
Tumblr media
It was a good deal for the both of them. Rudd would get his revenge on the other two Leppicorn, and Maeve would have plenty of food thanks to the life force her soul web absorbed from their struggling.
It's unknown if they're all still friends, but it's a reminder not to kindle a Leppicorn's vengeful side.

EvilDigimon
Tumblr media
"H-a-a-a-a-a-a-a! I will kill you Digimon!"
Decided to finally make EvilDigimon, Digimon's "twin borthr." The details differences are slightly different outside of colors; he digs with a pickaxe instead of a shovel, and his hardhat has horns on them, because evil.

Been a bit of a while since the last entry of The Blocks. I've been caught up in other things, I suppose. I've still been thinking about that pocket universe...
But not nearly as much as I did before.
It was a fun string of ideas that I was trying to put together, taking certain aspects of some of my characters and twisting some of them into something different. And there's a good number of ideas and moments that I hadn't even gotten to share. So far Blitz the Drabbit -- or at least that iteration of him -- has been one of the more appealing concepts I formulated for the story.
But it's been hard to stay motivated about the story recently. It could be a mix of losing interest in the concept, exploring newer ideas in the Esper Woods, or just getting distracted/involved in other things in general. That said, I suspect it wouldn't be much of a loss if it stopped or just disappeared. Outside of a lot of introductions and insights regarding the characters, there wasn't really a whole lot happening so far anyway.
I do want to at least get the first portion of the upcoming Day written, as it'll at least be something of substance to write about. But after that, I'll probably be putting the Blocks away for the foreseeable future. I might resume the story at some point, or I may never keep writing it; considering how a lot of the content was being conjured up on the fly, I could only imagine things would get messy if I were to try and continue.
One thought I had was to make some pictures tied to some of the ideas, explaining what they are and how they would've (or could have) possibly unfolded. Not sure if anyone would be interested to see any of that, especially if the context would be lumped in a large description. Then again, I suppose some ideas wouldn't have as much to really talk about, so that might not always be a problem.
I suppose I'll see how I feel once the next part of the Day is written.

Malcolm and Mag Abrams
Tumblr media
Been quite a while since I drew these two. It was meant to be a Valentine's Day picture, but time was not on my side. Regardless, I present the two now, grown up into young adults! They got married after graduating from Warshaw Academy, and they've been going on adventures together since.
Malcolm is sporting a new, non-enchanted coat, ditching a hat altogether. He no longer needs enchanted clothing now that he's awakened the powerful magic that had been imbued in his body. It was that awakening that caused his eyes to turn a striking blue color. He also possesses Lucifer, a black magic orb that is one of the two Forbidden Artifacts. Hearing that a gang of thieves took Lucifer from its resting place, he and Mag stealthily entered their domain and took Lucifer from them. He had since designated the artifact under his command so that no one else could easily take it, only using its destructive power when absolutely necessary.
Mag had begun to suffer some vision problems, so she's begun to wear corrective glasses in order to keep supporting Malcolm with her sharp archery skills. She not only has her magic bow Polaris, but two small crystal orbs named Regulus and Denebola. They assist Mag in many ways -- from being homing projectiles to remote "cameras" to warp points, among other things. These were a gift to her from Malcolm when they celebrated their first anniversary as a married couple.

FebROOary! Here's a special celebratory picture.
The Louie from Bomberman has been around for 30 years! And Sketch Tucker has been around for 25 years! Combine the two and...
Tumblr media
TOKAROOI!
The first Bomberman game I ever played was a rental of Mega Bomberman. It happened to be the Genesis port of Bomberman '94, which introduced the Louie to the series. They were always cute, even when their designs changed up. And that seemed to happen quite a bit. This is based more off of the Super Bomberman 5/Fantasy Race design.

Did you know February 6 is Mewtwo's Birthday? And it's also Raichu Day? There was some discussion with a few friends regarding how to celebrate both occasions in one picture. I brewed up this idea for them, and eventually said if they weren't gonna do it, I probably would. So we've both been working on the same concept, going two slightly different directions.
It turned out alright, I think.

Tortula Extra - Puppet Master
Tumblr media
One of the Tortula’s most interesting skills is its ability to control its prey like puppets. Using a captive with barely any life force left, the Tortula strings nearly invisible soul web around portions of the body and channels consumed Spectral Force through them. It then controls the captive with Psychic Force, emulating their personalities and mannerisms almost perfectly. The puppet is typically tasked with finding other creatures and coaxing them into the Tortula’s lair, where a well-laid trap awaits.
The method is not entirely seamless. The soul web does grow subtly in the dark, and it's more obvious if the strings are too thick. What's more, if the Tortula is not careful with its acting and control, the puppet could reciprocate the Tortula's thoughts or get tangled in the strings it's being controlled with. And of course, since the Tortula is putting full focus on controlling its puppet, it becomes unaware of its own surroundings, leaving itself vulnerable to whatever may try to attack it.
In this image, a female is being persuaded to enter the Tortula's cave by a male puppet. She doesn't see the green eyes of the male, nor does she notice the strings...which may prove unfortunate when she's led into the Tortula's trap.
