An Interesting and different 08
Found this when perusing a reddit forum, and I have been fascinated about the possibilities of it all day. Reposting below for easy readability:
What if The Toa Nuva and Hagah switched places and we got the Hagah vs Makuta instead? I often think that if they made this switch fit the story, with the Nuva somehow being able to wake up Mata Nui anyways and fulfill their destiny so that we can focus on the Hagah on Karda Nui it would have been a lot more cathartic and somehow benefit the sets’ design.
The Hagah were reduced to Rahaga which were established in BIONICLE 3 as a team of flyers (apparently it was later retconned, but let’s pretend it wasn’t), so it makes more sense that once they’re restored to their Toa status they can easily become a fully airborne team.
Also, the Rahaga from 2005 being released as Toa Hagah 3 years later in 2008 is a nice parallel with the Turaga appearing in 2001 and then being reintroduced as Toa in 2004.
Too much metal in the Mistika? Masks that don’t look like they belong to the Nuva? No problem. The Hagah have mostly unknown mask shapes (only Iruini and Norik were released in 2005 and Norik’s mask was a different shape than his actual Kanohi, so 5 out of 6) and they were an elite Toa team with lots of metallic armor plates to indicate their elite rank, so we can just turn the Phantoka’s dark grey parts metallic silver, or even better other metallic recolors such as gold, dark gold, copper, gunmetal grey and whatnot, and it makes sense lore-wise while adding more prestige to the sets. Also, with a few more parts you can solve the problem of some Toa only having a blaster by giving giant spears, which always look cool and don’t require necessarily new molds.
Now, I said at the beginning it would have felt a lot more cathartic, but why? Well turns out the Hagah aren’t just an elite Toa team but they used to have the roles of bodyguards of the Makuta, with Norik’s team being assigned to Teridax himself. So having a formerly disgraced team of elite Toa, each one with far more experience than any previous group of Toa we ever collected since they predate the Metru and might as well have predated the Mangai, being restored to their former glory to have a final battle with the very species they once swore to protect… I dunno but when I think about it, it feels like the Hagahs battling the Makuta would have been a lot more personal. Also, they are the reason why Takanuva exists too since they secured the Avokii or something if I’m not mistaken, so having a titan Takanuva fighting beside them would have been pretty cool too.
Most people, including myself, like the idea of the original Toa team being brought back in 2008 for what was considered the final battle at the time. However, I often think that a different team should have deserved the spotlight. A team that doesn’t require much introduction, since we already knew them in 2005, and that feels a lot more skilled and battle-hardened than even the Nuva. What better team to fight a threat such as the Makuta themselves?
The thought of the Toa Hagah being the ones to go to Karda Nui and battle the former ones they were supposed to be bodyguards for… the story potential is fascinating. I think while it may have robbed us from the reveals we got of the Toa Nuva and the closure to their story, which could have still happened in 09 if we stayed another year in the MU, it would have been a great closure to the Brotherhood of Makuta and the Toa Hagah.
Really interested to hear your thoughts, Tumblr

Bionicle Canon Lore That Appears Nowhere in Canon:
-Matoran Universe days are 36 hours long.
-Velika is a Great Being.
- Agori, Skrall and other Magnan sapients are mammals and have hair. Weirdly, the Skopio is also a mammal.
-Matoran and Toa eat by absorbing sustenance with their hands.
-Takua is the oldest Matoran in the universe.
-Matoran and other beings were not sapient when the Great Beings first created them.

i'm actually so fucking sick of zionists using phrases such as "Was it worth it, Hamas?" cause literally what the fuck are y'all yapping about??? Israel has been indiscriminately bombing gaza in front of our eyes since last October, Israel has murdered more than 30 thousands Palestinians within 5 months, Israel is forcefully starving gaza, Israel is the one committing war crimes everyday, Israel is continuing genocide and ethnic cleansing. Israel. is. illegally. occupying. Palestine.
we all know who are the perpetrators here. and zionists can't gaslight people into "hamas started it" bullshit anymore. everyone is actually sick of Israel's dumb colonialism propaganda where they just repeat same old tactics “how dare you palestinians resist us, after we have your stolen land, freedom, human rights and subjugated your people under fascist colonial regime.”
Israel carry out atrocities in broad daylight and then go ahead blame Palestinian resistance for the said act of savagery they've performed, "O their audacity!" indeed!

so a thought re the Owl House & daemon AUs:
i understand why ppl often don't do this bcos a big part of the appeal of daemon AUs is u know giving all the characters a daemon but the fact is palismen just fulfil such a similar role both narratively & aesthetically that it doesn't really make much sense to me for witches to have both
this would also make a daemon AU extremely low effort as Luz would be the only main character with one & her daemon would defo be unsettled for a good chunk of the show
(not sure when they would settle? once again a problem w this is that palismen serve such a similar role she already has a '''settling''' moment in For the Future so what do you do, combine the 2? give her another one? just leave her daemon still unsettled?)
anyway tho some fun to be had w daemons & palismen being superficially similar and yet so so different

disabled people who are lifelong, permanent dependents, i love you. you are my friends and my lovers and my siblings and you are me and i am you and i love you.
i'm really despondent sometimes over the ways society sees us. how conservatives see us as burdens and drains on society, yes, and also how liberals mock our lives, how the idea of being an adult dependent is seen solely as the result of poor life choices, how everyone all across the political spectrum sees things like "getting an allowance from your spouse" and "relying on one person for housing" as cause for mockery, jokes to make, nothing but a conceptual stick with which to beat people into performing well in work and school. still others see us as childish, as pitiable, perhaps not as worthy of mockery but definitely not as worthy of being treated as a social equal, never someone you could invite into your social spheres and make an effort to include--they're just not independent, no offense to them, it just makes them so childish, i can't have an adult friendship with them.
but we persist anyway. we're here. i'm lucky to love the people i'm dependent on, i'm lucky that they respect me as a person and would never leverage their power over me, i'm lucky that they're willing to constantly self-check to make sure they're not accidentally using that power. i hope to g-d you're lucky in the same ways, because i love you. and if you're not, i love you. i'm holding your hand and i'm standing with you and i'm going to try to make a better world for both of us.

When I made this post just ten days ago, it was about mass graves discovered at Al Shifa hospital and now we have learned that the same had happened at Nasser hospital in Gaza. The same genocidal pattern: a hospital is put under siege, patients and medical staff are abducted, tortured and buried in mass graves.
But to build on the last point I wanted to bring attention to in the previous post, it is very crucial to also keep in mind is that the Palestinian Civil Defence have reported that Israel had deliberately concealed the identities of those it killed and buried in these mass graves. Close to 400 bodies have been buried in these mass graves, 58% of the recovered bodies have not been identified.
In a press conference, a spokesperson of the civil defence in Gaza said that Israel had intentionally disfigured the bodies postmortem in order to remove any identifying markers such as birthmarks. He also mentioned that they suspect that the bodies have been placed in body bags that expedited the decomposition process, destroying any possibility of them being identified.
One of the main and only ways families have been able to identify the bodies of their loved ones is through the clothes they remember them wearing the last time they saw them. I saw a video of a mother identifying her son by his striped jacket. You can see the grief mixed with relief that she will be able to give her son proper burial.
Remember when months ago I said that to be identified and buried in Gaza has become a luxury? This is very much still the case.

“When the tales become long, sometimes it’s better to just summarize the basics…” - Future Idax Ta-Metru Toa Fotahki I Lesohka, speaking to Toa Lehari Lesohka while drawing up battle plans in advance of the Battle of the Avalanche.
Somewhat new from RSG: the cost of entry for the Doronai Nui is getting ever cheaper, and since all it used to cost you was time, I’d call that a win-win.
The Doronai Kofo, “The short word on it all,” is a condensed ruleset that is still entirely interoperable with the Doronai Nui, but walks you by the hand through the system basics and keeps everything as, “plug and play,” as possible. We’ve been cognizant of the fact that the DN has been dense and only getting denser as development continues, and the DN-K is the fruit of a long aspired to wish that there would be an easier on-ramp for people to experience the world of Bionicle tabletop roleplaying.
Play fast and loose, but above all, play well. Download the Doronai Kofo version 0.9.1.1 here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Dzii549ZhojT_VU1ZUllrBBaQ_5yq7ZC/view?usp=sharing

my favourite bit from Mask of Light that I remember periodically is the part after Lewa saves Jaller and Takua from the bear and Jaller goes "well, better finish what I started" with grim finality and then just. pulls out a knife??? why was he going to kill the bear. what would that have accomplished. why was that his immediate thought and why was he so despondent about it. it's such a weird little moment and I love it to pieces
