And some people STILL think Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe have a secret romance and hide their “true” relationship and children…
Y’all… this show is on its last leg. I’m watching till the bitter end because I’m a book fan and I’m minutely interested in how they wrap up the show…. And people still think the actors are in a romantic relationship in real life and argue and fight about it.
There are wars going on, famine, social crises… my gosh, a worldwide pandemic happened, but this crap theory is still floated?
If one of those people happen to read this— go educate yourself, go and volunteer your help to people who need it, do something that might be remotely productive with your life. Help society for the better.
<end of rant, I’m going to bed and I regret ever peeking back into this Tumblr Outlander world>
I’m holding final judgment until I actually watch season 5, however I admit this interview has given me a modicum of hope that it will be a shit ton better than season 4 😬
It’s a little bit long but worth to read article. I love Diana’s no-nonsense personality. It seems everybody is aware of S4 problem. I really hope a better quality in S5. She said her favorite episode in S5 so far is E509. Sam said that the most difficult episods for him were 507, 509 and 512 in his Q&A. To be honest, I had to lower my expectation for S5 after seeing the poor quality of some scripts in S4. But it seems Karen Campbell (the worst writer in S3 & 4, IMO) is gone and Diana wrote one episode. Now I have a reason to look for it.
I’ve always been very sensitive about questions and try to live by the motto, “There is never a stupid question.”
However... my limits have been tested (the last 24 hours especially), by the questions (not all, but some) of the Outlander cast and Diana Gabaldon at NYCC. The people responding to Ginger Zee’s request for questions... people will just ask anything 🤯.
Diana is not going to reveal anything about the end of the series. Quit guessing and then telling her your guess. Even IF your guess is somehow correct, do you think she’d say so?
Also- ladies, you are not Claire and she is not you. Don’t think you know the characters better than Herself. And for Heaven’s sake don’t tell Herself what you think HER characters should have done or should do. It doesn’t reflect well on you.

Honestly - not just their relationship in FC, but their relationship arc over books 5-8+ is probably one of the things that makes me cry the most! To have started off so poorly, it’s honestly one of the most beautiful relationships in the books.
One of my favorite passages regarding this is in Echo when he and Bree are talking:
😭
I can’t wait for Book 9 to see how their relationship grows given they’ve been apart.
I am calling it now the journey to Roger x Jamie x respect will be my favourite arc of s5
The Jamie and Roger relationship is hands down one of my favorite things about Fiery Cross and beyond. It’s a wonderful mix of a fatherly-brotherly bond in my opinion.
I am very excited to see how the show plays out their relationship on screen. Yes, in the book it’s a bit hairy between them in the beginning when Roger arrives on the Ridge in June, but by the time the gathering happens in October, Jamie has completely accepted Roger as the “son of his house”. Hopefully the show runners won’t feel the need to add drama and play on the father-in-law conflict trope, because Jamie and Roger’s relationship is not at all that.
I’ll never get sick of reading this little passage from Fiery Cross:
I’ll go to my grave arguing talking about how this relationship is one of trust, love, and respect.
My name is Madam Mim and I’m a fan of the Gathering in The Fiery Cross 😂
Honestly - it is long, but so many fun/good/interesting things happen! I say the good outweighs the bad.
Book readers, am I the only one who doesn’t mind “the gathering that never ends”? I think everything that happens is important and/or fun to read. Also it is very true-to-life, especially for those times, that a lot gets done at events like a gathering. There is opportunity for catching up, business, etc. that may not come again for years.
I’m very much looking forward to seeing it onscreen!
Not sure WHY this is being brought up again unless Lynette needs clicks or something, but the “interview” here appears to consist of one question.
Uh, no coming out with Jemmy at the end doesn’t make up for Claire & Jamie not being at the birth. Don’t say that it does.
Maybe next time YOU SHOULD DEBATE NOT INCLUDING A MAJOR SCENE FROM THE BOOK. When does debating something hurt? Especially when this was a BIG exclusion in my opinion.
I just pulled these screenshots- they’re from Sam’s posting on Instagram of him, Cait and 50 Cent. Apparently these comments have been going on for two days now- I’d be fed up too. These were just the comments I found in a quick scroll- they’re almost 500 comments now 🙄
You did not just ask this woman if she was pregnant!? 🙄🤦🏼♀️🤬
You massive fucking assholes!!! OMG Do you know how inappropriate it is to ask a woman that ever!? What if she can’t physically have children, is insecure about her body, has recently miscarriaged? Just proves what horrible people are in this fandom. Absolutely disgusting and that she saw it is even worse! Shame on you utter wankstains!
Did anyone else receive an email from Starz with this? I found it interesting as I’ve never received one before and it was oddly specific to the latest season of Outlander.
