It's been almost 500 days since congress last approved aid to Ukraine. 🇺🇦 forces are severely lacking in ammunition there, which means they cannot protect their cities and energy infrastructure and have to leave soldiers at the frontline without cover because they need to ration their firepower. Civilians are dying, soldiers defending freedom and democracy are dying. Ukraine will lose and cease to exist if they run out of weapons.

Russia is 100% responsible for the war, but inaction makes the USA complicit and will lead to a bigger war in Europe that is very likely going to include NATO directly, meaning your fellow countrypeople will actually have to come here and fight. Don't want that? Then fucking support Ukraine NOW! It's the morally right and logical thing to do and serves your own interests!!

As if it's some fucking virtue! As if there's inherent value in simply being radical. Being extreme in your response to conditions is not inherently valuable. What is your response to the conditions? That's where the value lives. It's not in how far you are away from the status quo its literally just how good, how feasible, how pragmatic, how compassionate your ideas are.

I think what we're seeing now with the anti-Israel + new antisemitic movement among the left is (among many other things) the culmination of this very exaltation of radicalism. None of these folks had good, feasible, pragmatic, or compassionate ideas. They really were just motivated by wanting something to be VERY DIFFERENT from how things are now. And that's honestly fucking meaningless. It's never something we should've put stock in.

Don't let anything radicalize you as its primary value. Don't ever let your distance from the status quo be your whole ideology. You need to actually have values and principles and morals and things that are close to your heart. You need to HAVE a heart. You can't just be a political husk filled with anger who gets off on stirring controversy.

We remember. Ukrainians live in such a way that every day we have to commemorate the anniversaries of tragedies. And in the case of Mariupol. People specifically wrote the word "Children" in Russian so that Russians would understand. But of course, it didn't matter to them. Russia hit Odesa's downtown area with ballistic missiles. The hit targeted a residential building. Once rescue services and medics arrived on site, Russia targeted the same place again. As a result, one rescue worker and one medic of an ambulance are dead.
