Hi! Idk if someone asked it before but I wanted to know why Dante hate humans? Is it because of some kind of traumatic experience or something?
Decided to do this instead haha, enjoy my poor writing
Dante hates humans because as a kid he had a human bully, who would convince people he'd change very often. one person of these people was his human best friend at the time.
she was the grand-daughter of a neighbor, and she would make friends with everyone she could on her path, even if Dante told her to not listen to that guy she couldn't understand why they couldn't become friends if they got along pretty well when she was around.
this bully would pick on Dante anytime he was exploring his backyard or even the park of the neighborhood.
he told his family about his problem, they tried to get along with the bully's family but failed miserably, cause that family was against monsters being alongside humans.
the girl would visit Dante or let him go to her granddad's house to play, eventually she convinced scifell to go to the park with an adult. another fail because they found the bully there too.
at this point they complained to the neighborhood and it ceased for a bit, only for little Dante to be yelled at from afar.
a few days later Dante starts school, and since he's smart, later in the year he's moved to a more advanced class in which this bully and best friend are. except his best friend now gets along too well with that guy, and even study together.
she would still invite Dante to hangout with her group of friends, and of course when she was around nothing happened, but anytime he was alone, the guy with his buddies would go harass him and go along like nothing ever happened.
still Dante couldn't do that much (there's more to the story)
after some time scifell realized (against Red's will) this was too far and were planning on moving out by Christmas.
So everything was OK for a while, people knew they were leaving, bla bla, no one cared apparently.
comes Dante's birthday, he's getting called to go outside and hangout for the last time.
some words were exchanged, he goes back home with his family but suddenly he hears an explosion from inside the house, and the fire starts spreading super fast, mind you the boxes were almost ready and spread around the house.
Dante tried to stop the fire as much as he could, when he ran to the backyard he saw his best friend with the others throwing rocks and fireworks right in the kitchen where they were boiling water for tea time.
at this sight Dante froze in place watching them, until she spotted him, ran towards him saying "Dante dont worry you can come with us! nobody has to imprison you again! let's go!"
still frozen he just looked at her in the eyes not blinking "you useless scum get out of my sight, i swear if i see you nearby no one will miss you"
after the firemen put out the fire, the family went to a hotel to stay. Dante didn't sleep, couldn't sleep at all. he simply go out of bed, took the little he could salvage (wich had tools inside).
went directly to the school.
he burned the school down with some gasoline and electrical malfunctions. the places burned to the brim were exactly the classroom and the others lockers.
Dante went back to the hotel, entered the front door not saying a single word, scifell of course knew something happened, they quickly took him to the bedroom changed him to something more comfortable, sci then decided to stay beside him.
a knock on the door, Red opens, it's the police.
"so you tellin me my kid snuck up from my partners arms... my kid who is grippin his lil hands for sleep on my partner who's still reading some trashy magazine after his books got ashed and after we all had to come here far from that shitty neighborhood... to go to the school and burn it... excuse my ignorance but who could possibly believe my kid, whom again is grippin on my partner for dear life, is responsible for that?"
"we got information you had some problems around th-"
"ah yea... still, pardon my manners but who. is. incriminating. my. son?"
"i cannot grant you that information sir"
"okay, cool... just so you know, the only real info is that *points to the room* situation right behind me, wanna see?"
"please, we nee-"
"oh hunieeee~~~ we got visitors~~"
policemen get annoyed but follow Red, only to find Sci sitting on the bed against the wall with a magazine in one hand and Dante wrapped in a blanket on the other arm, grabbing his shirt like his life depended on it.
Sci just looks at them visibly annoyed.
"whatever you're looking for it's not here"
policemen don't say anything, leave the room, and before leaving completely Red says "ya'kno... for being the law and justice you sure act fast when monsters are bein mentioned huh?"
one policeman wanted to argue but Red just says "my kid been here having nightmares the whole night thanks and goodbye"
