Everyone has the potential to fall victim to being indoctrinated into a cult. Anyone can be sexually assaulted. Anyone can become a victim of an abusive relationship. Yes, even if you're intelligent and strong willed. Yes, even if you think you're tough and "don't take shit from anyone".

If you've never found yourself as the victim of a cult, or sexual assault, or abuse, the only thing separating you from people who have been victimized by cults / sexual assault / abuse is circumstance. That's it. Sheer luck. Luck over what family you were born into. Luck over who you were surrounded by when you were emotionally compromised or in any way vulnerable. Ect.

You are not better than people who have been victimized. They didn't do anything wrong to ask to be victimized. Anyone can be victimized by these situations given the perfect storm of circumstances. You are not better than people who have been victimized by cults / sexual assault / abuse.

You need to understand that if you are lucky enough to have never been victimized by cults / sexual assault / abuse, it's very little to do with how smart or strong you are or you doing all the "right" things. Someone can be smart and strong and do all the right things and still find themselves a victim given the perfect storm of bad circumstances.

The sooner this can be understood, the sooner we can do away with victim blaming culture. And the sooner we can do away with victim blaming culture the sooner atrocities like cults, sexual assault, and abuse can stop being so prolific. Victim blaming culture allows these atrocities to thrive. And they will continue to thrive until we shift the blame to where it rightfully belongs.

Bill Ackman, too, is deeply involved, who had a hand in Claudine Gay's resignation from Harvard, who's also an unhinged proponent of the systematic suppression of free-speech against Israel; so is Ehud Barak, to the surprise of no one who's been reading news on this for years. Now that a case against Israel will be taken to ICJ, I want to see severe punishments being doled out to all involved. A campaign to dismantle this zionist, settler-colonial, white-supremacist state once and for all. The number of lives it's utterly ruined is unprecedented in history; Israel's brutal oppression of Palestinians is being termed as 'worse than apartheid' by many academics from South Africa. If you still believe otherwise, man, then you're just beyond the pale.

the images out of Gaza today are the most horrific I've seen yet. Pools of blood in the street, shredded children, old women with their limbs blown off. This is complete and utter madness the occupation is not even hiding it anymore they are just killing and maiming everyone indiscriminately since everyone has moved on from them bombing a hospital and killing hundreds. I am at my wit's end I really am.

it goes against so much of what i stand for to share "palestinians are humans, they have hobbies, they have pets, they laugh and cry" kind of posts because i've spent so much of my life and career completely rejecting the notion that we should humanize ourselves, that we should ever be defensive, that we should entertain this racism at all

but it breaks my heart when i have to share them from people in gaza, who are using their five minutes of internet connection, their 25% of battery charge collected from a macguyvered car battery, emotionally exhausted, thirsty and hungry, sleeping in schools that have turned into refugee shelters and still making the time to say "please, i am human too, i am still alive, please fight for me" in english to appeal to the only people who have the power to help

i shared a tweet from a jjk artist in gaza i follow about a bts photocard being found in the middle of the rubble. even the love of anime and kpop and sports is no longer just a hobby, but an appeal to humanity. what was once a source of joy is now proof of life.

the worst part is that you won't find this content in arabic. palestinians don't post like this in arabic. but when they translate themselves, they recognize that they must humanize themselves first. it's an unspoken understanding of dehumanization, one that has dictated a whole region's understanding of the value of human life. in arabic they speak with dignity, with anger, with sorrow. in english, they appeal for their existence.

i share these posts not just because we have to reach everyone we can, because im being asked to and i will not refuse. but i also share them because they're evidence of how deep the racism has run. at what dehumanization leads to. of war crime after war crime. this too i will not forget.

when i posted about israel bombing al ahli hospital, i got a wave of zionist shitstains saying that it was "verified" that it was "actually a misfired hamas rocket" and that Israel had nothing to do with it despite plenty of evidence pointing to israel being the perpetrator. since apparently israel would Never Do That or whatever. now that israel has admitted to bombing a FUCKING REFUGEE CAMP, i wonder how these people feel knowing they're the stupidest and most vile pieces of shit on this earth. you people and everyone else who sympathizes with israel helped this happen by aiding the israeli government in manufacturing consent for and normalizing its consistent brutalization of palestinians. you're actually the lowest of the low and i have no idea how you're gonna go the rest of your lives and be able to look at yourselves in a mirror without feeling abject disgust
