i saw this tweet where a girl said she went to the aquarium with her gf and the guide pulled them aside to tell them about the gay penguins and i immediately thought supercorp. i don’t know if i prefer this happening pre relationship when kara is delighted about the gay penguins but also kind of confused cause why would the guide specifically take her and lena aside to talk about them??? or when they’re already together and she gets to geek out over the penguins tease lena saying the one being clingy is obviously her. idk gay penguins supercorp
“we have gay penguins too,” the tour guide tells kara and lena in a low hushed voice as he looks around the area, a secret smile on his face.
kara squeals silently, body practically vibrating and feet bouncing up and down because it feels like the tour guide is letting them in on some private information, only telling her and lena and not anyone else here.
“this so cool. i love this place. i love gay penguins,” kara declares confidently with a grin.
“gay penguins,” lena approves with a small smile, the tips of her ears pinking as she does. not. loosen her hold on kara's arm one bit, her cheek pressing against kara's shoulders. she knows damn well why the well-meaning tour guide pulled them aside.
“and gay people,” the tour guide includes with a hard nod, looking at the two, terribly wholesome and oblivious. it really feels like he’s two seconds away from mentioning that he has a sister who’s also gay, or something.
“and gay people,” kara repeats slowly, blinks, confused at the addition, but she’s got the spirit.
lena chuckles, soft, while kara still doesn't get it. kara's just happy to be here with her best friend.

Kara doesn’t notice how deeply her thoughts have consumed her until she feels a soft hand on her cheek. Lena is a warm presence under Kara, her breathing and touch a grounding pressure. Kara is being held close, closer than close, as if nowhere will ever be close enough.
Many people respect and admire Supergirl. At the same time, there are those that fear her. If they saw how she quivers from Lena Luthor’s touch perhaps they would be less afraid.

“I’m… what?” Silence. It continues on. Then, “Lena, you seem to feel like there’s something always stopping you from saying or doing—I don’t know,” Kara says, and it sticks in Lena’s throat. “What’s stopping you?”
Lena’s heart beats so fast she’s worried it might stop. It may break, or burst out of her chest. She had a moment of weakness, and now they’re heading into a risky conversation. They’ve had a lot of tough conversations over the years but this—this is something new entirely.
Kara waits. Lena keeps quiet.
Kara sighs. “Sometimes I think you want me to touch you.” She studies Lena closely with a conflicted expression. She’s not the only one having a hard time.
here’s the thing: lena has been in love with kara for a long time. if kara knows, then kara doesn’t seem to mind.
