Coming out of the dead to respond to this.
Full disclosure to the CSvent-2 mod, Lythbound no longer is a CS as of august 16th 2023, the date their site shut down.
Even in a small CS, it is a refusal to take criticism or QoL suggestions that often lead to drama blogs or, at best, unsatisfied members. In Lythbound's case, it was a mix of forced positivity, the inability to take criticism, lack of transparency, and dissatisfaction on how members were treated that lead to the creation of this blog.
How well you treat and listen to your members often determines how well your species will thrive. If you don't care about the community your foster, it festers. Lyth's story is one of those.
~ Mod Zebra
The main common denominator between species with dedicated vent blogs are staff and owners who shut down any and all feedback and criticism. Another commonality is being ban-happy against members for minor slights.
Wyngro isn’t as relevant now but in my opinion is a perfectly clear example of this. They made major decisions that upset the majority of their community, and instead of listening or compromising, they banned everyone who spoke out. This happened multiple times until the species inevitably lost its community entirely.
I see this echoed with Succubuns and Terraliens most, which are also the CS with the most active dedicated vent blogs.
If you run a species, and you’re afraid of having it come up on vent blogs? The biggest thing you can do is learn to take criticism well. Someone saying they think your species could use more FTO-friendly mechanics isn’t personally attacking you. Someone saying that MYO approvals are too nitpicky and inconsistent isn’t trying to insult you.
Obviously, sometimes, even species that do their best will end up on vent blogs if they piss off the wrong person, but in the end, pissing off one person who posts one vent or leaves your species individually is better than pissing off an entire community to the point where they make a whole dedicated blog to let out the criticism you refuse to accept face-to-face.

By any chance, does anyone know who the owner of the Symphony species is? It literally doesn’t say anywhere and I really want to make sure I can properly void the one Lythian I’m keeping (who is a Symphony, by chance).
For a retrospective, I don’t really have much to say. What started as a positive group experience ended up draining me when I realized just how much I had to grind to get anywhere in the actual game. I hadn’t been active for awhile when Lyth finally closed. Yeah. Mod edit: Symphonies are owned by Sol. And according to the screenshots we were sent, they are an open species. Link1 Link2

Looking back on things and how the staff interacted with me and my friends, I can now say a lot of the stuff they'd say seemed to be fake nice?
As in; some of the things they said seemed to be somehow mocking while masking as nice, and I got a similar feeling anytime I watched a staff members livestream.
Looking back at an older submission we've received, you may not be the only one that's experienced that, sadly. It is unfortunately common with closed species staff.

So, blog mod, what do you plan on doing with the blog once Lyth is fully gone? I know you said you wanted to keep it up for people to send in memories of their time on it, but it doesn't look like people are interested in doing so.
I will stick to my plan. At the least, it'll be an archive of Lyth's last year. If people want to send retrospectives, they can. If they don't, they don't. This goes doubly for the sugar blog. Just because Lyth had things it could have and should have improved on doesn't mean there wasn't any good to come out of it. I'm sad to see Lyth go at all, even with its faults.

I don't mean this in a mean way or anything, but with how jack handled lyth and the species involved, they seem very scattered? i don't know if that's the right word for it, it's like they can't really pull everything together properly.
It could be very much just be ADHD. Which can make organisation difficult. Which is by no means an excuse, but could explain why things were scattered the way they were. There's a few methods Jack could use to help keep track of things, but they all take work on Jack's part. The disorganisation and lack of transparency were the biggest things holding Lyth back. Even if I don't like some of the changes Jack had made, I'd be lying if I said Lyth didn't have potential.

Right, so I've spent a bit of time thinking after reading that, and from what I can understand, Jack has been operating under the belief that they were the Licence Holder (Owner) of the species in question, but was actually the Distributor.
And since Jack acted under the assumption they were the Licence Holder they treated the four species as their property, despite the fact that Jack and Lythbound were simply the Distributors.
The way that Jack worded the messages sent to the true Licence Holders made it seem as though Jack was transferring the Licences that they did not have in the first place back to the true Licence Holders, something which as the Distributor, Jack did not have the right to do.
All in all, from what I understand on this, Jack's actions with the handling of the Nudinym, Pompip, Lillipeep, and Symphony species was technically illegal, as they acted as the Licence Holder and not the Distributor as intended.
That's a yikes from me. ~Mod Zebra

it feels strange seeing this blog become active again at the last days of lyth's existance with yet more drama.
It's certainly surreal. All I did was post a reminder that it's closing.
