I think name discourse is pretty stupid all around, but numbername especially its like, saying its only for RAMCOA feels so weird, as someone who had family in the holocaust it feels like softcore denial, our late great grandmother would talk about her friends with the first number of theyres, as for them it was Language barriers that made it hard to pronounce names. To me i see them as simply a way of expression, as even across languages numbers are universal in a sense yk?
I feel like number names shouldn’t be a way to basically display ur trauma. I understand they’re only for RAMCOA victims but it’s honestly just dangerous imo
honestly we don't think they're only for RAMCOA victims, singlets use number names all the time, why is it different if an alter uses it? As long as they're not mocking the name I think it's fine. And I agree, having number names be RAMCOA only is very dangerous, it reveals their trauma to people, which can expose them to those who wish to take advantage of them

Hey, you know that persecutor alter you got there? The one you keep from fronting usually because you're afraid they're gonna do something awful and hurt you or hurt someone you love or anything else you just don't want to happen?
Can you do me a favor and get them some ice cream for me please? Or if you're allergic or lactose intolerant or just hate ice cream, any other treat you think they may like? Or if they don't like anything maybe share a favorite food with them? Or a favorite toy? Just. Show them there's some nice things out there in the world, too. That it's not all hurt and trauma out there. And that you care about them or even just respect their right to exist.

Happy International Roma Day
By “happy” meaning that Roma people’s fundamental human rights are ensured.
Today Greece’s PM Alexis Tsipras said that for successful Roma integration, school attendance of Roma children is required.
What about the conditions and support a child needs in order to attend school?
Children have rights and it is also the State’s obligation to ensure them, yet all we see is victim blaming and antigypsyism rising.
I am proud to have Roma friends and I wish they didn’t have to struggle so hard for everything.

Especially today, know that you have no obligation to educate gadje if you don’t want to, nor to be polite to them if they’re racist. I know our tags are so much of hardship, and that is very much a part of our experience, but I wouldn’t trade being romani for the world. I love being who I am, and that is romani.

Happy International Romani Day!!!
I'm a day late, but I celebrate being Romani everyday :)
We are the largest ethnic minority in Europe, but we live all over the world. A diverse group of vistas make up the Romani community and our culture has heavily influenced several parts of other cultures, such as flamenco dance, European jazz music, and Bulgarian wedding music.
As someone living in the US, I recommend reading "Romani Realities in the United States: Breaking the Silence, Challenging the Stereotypes" for more general info about Roma in the US.
I also recommend reading about the plays Kali Tras and Samudaripen.

a little late but Wanda in traditional Romani clothes in honor of International Romani Day(April 8th)
If you didn’t know, Wanda Maximoff is jewish and Romani. In the comics she was very proud of who she is and her culture and heritage was very important to her. In the MCU she is portrayed by Elizabeth Olsen, who is neither jewish or Romani. Elizabeth Olsen plays Wanda Maximoff beautifully, delivering some truly amazing performances, and seems to be truly dedicated to the character, yet it would have been better if a Romani or Jewish(or of course the better option, both) woman had been cast as Wanda. It also would have helped if the MCU hadn’t written jewish characters to join a Yahtzee organization, when said jewish characters, parents were literally in the holocaust.
I am not Romani. If there is something wrong with the art or something that needs to change I am all ears on how to fix it.
anyway these are the beautiful ladies that inspired this art piece.

Happy International Romani Day!
To celebrate the real #InternationalRomaniDay, this post will cover the fictional Rom Dr. Victor von Doom. In Fantastic Four Special #1 “My Dinner with Doom”, Doom uses the Rapprochement Festival to invite Reed Richards over to dinner.
Dr. Doom sets the mood for Reed with Haydn’s Quartet in F Minor.
Opus 20 No. 4 is said by Haydn to be “in the [Romani] style”. (the z-word, an exonym which comes from Greek for untouchables should not be used)
Opus 20 No. 5 is what’s performed on page.
Doom has prepared Romani cuisine that were his mother’s favorites for his dinner with Reed. The first named dish is sarma: cabbage leaves stuffed with rice, minced meat, and spices. As for the rest, I’m unsure if some are simply for the fictional Latveria or based on a real dish.
The care and intimacy with which Doom planned his date with Reed is significant. To invite Reed over and share his mom and culture’s cuisine is no small thing for Doom. If I made any error in this post please let me know. Any insight and further comments welcome!
