“Your cheeks went a shade of pink” WHY is it so hard for you writers to realise that girls with darker skin tones also read your fics and we don’t blush 😭😭

i try be really mindful when writing about a lot of things! writing reader inserts is tricky because no reader is the same! skin colour, body, hair ━ i try my best to not specify physical features, but unfortunately i like to focus my writing on characters and their movements, reactions and dialogue and blushing is something i tend to draw on as a different way to express being flustered, to avoid repetitiveness.

i like to think i’m pretty good at ensuring my fics are inclusive and don’t paint the picture of one type of reader! will definitely take this into account in future; however i will clarify ━ blushing is something that i find is easy to write and use an example of demonstrating a certain feeling of embarrassment, not to exclude anyone or paint a picture of a specific reader!
