I want to run
Like, truly run. Dig my claws into the dirt and sprint. I want to weave and dive and kick up mud. I want to feel my muscles work to keep my light body up as I stride through the brush. I want to tear at the ground and leave paths for others to follow.

I'm just a beast.
I bite with sharp fangs and tear flesh from bone.
my body and mind have evolved for very specific reasons. im not used to conversation. my brain struggles to understand that these interactions are not dangerous. that I am not fighting for my life here.
I try my best. but others can tell, I'm failing to mask my true nature. they make sarcastic comments. point out my ragged fur. give confused glances at my rough garbled words.
I'm not normal. they can tell.
i can't help it.
my tongue was not made to speak these complex phrases. my eyes not meant to casually browse shelves.
i was made to bark, yelp, yowl, howl, scream, and many other manner of noises. my eyes meant to sharply watch prey and predator alike, constantly watching for danger.
forgive me. for I am not a creature meant for this life. so i have had to quickly adapt to my surroundings. my mask may appear uncanny and strange but I promise, I am doing my best.

so glad it’s not illegal to use lycanthropy as a metaphor for obsessive compulsive disorder cause i’d be in jail big time…. but i’d still be right give me one werewolf character you can’t apply an ocd lens to. exactly you cant. it’s about the guilt and the lack of control and the feeling like you’re irreparably bad or a monster and the fear of hurting others and the anger and. it’s perfect.

"Curiosity killed the cat" is a familiar theme in folk tales. But will curiosity kill the wolf?
