finding comfort in the idea that Papyrus is socially inept, fully aware of it and trying his best anyhow. that he might be annoying to new groups or certain people, and that he’s tolerated out of politeness but no connection can really be made. that he doesn’t like to think about this because that’s a spiral into self-deprecation and he doesn’t want to impose that on others and trigger their deprecating thoughts. that he sees groups of friends who live near each other and have gotten along for such a long time and always have plans to hang out and have fun, and he stays at home all day, only leaving when it’s on his to-do list of necessities.
he is terrific and funny and his loud expressions do not make him less likable and his endlessly unique dialogue is part of what makes him so much fun. he monologues and repeats himself and is kind because he wants to be. and maybe, by wording it like this, I can feel better about me.

I have a lot of feelings about the rise of he would not fucking say that attitudes in fandom spaces and the paralysing effect it can have on creators. As a writer i think it’s important to just write what feels true to you and not what you think others will “approve” of. Like even as a reader i have enjoyed a variety of different characterisations that all work because the writer makes them work for a particular story. And a fic that’s written out of character to some will be in character to others. Writing fic is not your job you’re not being paid it’s your hobby please. Make them as close to canon as possible. Make them completely different. Who cares! Have fun! Have so much fun! There is an audience for every kind of fic and every kind of character interpretation i promise

maintaining friendships
keeping up with my hygiene
managing bills
making money
remembering my basic needs
sleeping regularly
outputting creatively
All requires some aspect of work for me.
And when everything in your life requires work, your balance goes out the window.
If you're neurodivergent and overwhelmed — I see you.
If you're chronically ill and overwhelmed — I see you.
You're not dysfunctional.
You're not incapable.
You're doing your best.

welcome to "jewel had a very stupid idea for an au" part uhh..i dont even know! anyway, so this is UVtale or basically the au where everyone is neon colored because the underground is literally covered in eternal darkness and everyone gets lost...most of the time at least. which is why sans runs a search team! to search missing people! and chara's there too and they are like siblings how neat..if only papyrus was there as well..
anyway so frisk falls down and they are just a little guy who wants to (literally) bring back the light into this (very doomed) world oneshot style! through the power of determination..i wanna make some more designs for this and maybe write a lil story out of it who knows omg,, anyway
