Instructions for a walk in the woods
Never turn around to check behind you. You’ll see nothing, but once you start doing it you won’t be able to stop, and an ominous feeling will follow you until you don’t lock your house’s door behind you.
If you stand very still and listen you will hear the woods calling for you. Don’t answer. Never answer.
You’ll hear things quietly following you, hidden in the trees by your sides. It’s okay, they’re just checking on you.
Don’t be scared, but be really, really wary.
If you have a bad feeling about taking a certain path, don’t. You’ll avoid whatever is waiting for you at the end of it.
You never know what may be buried under the soil you’re walking on. Remember that every time you take a step. Pray that whatever it is, it won’t wake up.
Be careful not to step on any beetle, or you’ll never get rid of them.
If you bring a knife with you, name it. Otherwise the blade will turn against you as soon as you try to use it.
Make sure you remember the way back home. As soon as you get lost, you’re just another piece of fresh meat.

this idea was sitting in my drafts for a while and i dont wanna do schoolwork so here lmfao

“mm…you smell good…”
a tiny smile inched across your face at the feeling of your boyfriend mumbling into your neck. his sturdy arms were locked around your ribcage from behind, the blanket you gifted him for his birthday last year holding you two in place like a burrito.
“well, i would hope so, considering i showered this morning,” you whispered, giggling when eijirou squeezed your sides.
“that’s not what i meant!” he grinned against your skin. “i mean you just…you just smell nice. like, all the time. it’s comforting.”
you elbowed him softly, face flushing with warmth. even after however many years you had been calling him yours, he never failed to make you squirm with giddy embarrassment.
“hush.”
he nipped your earlobe. “fine. do you wanna pick the next movie, lovebug?” you looked back up to the tv, where the credits of some random holiday movie were scrolling.
initially, your day had begun with kirishima asking you over your breakfast of mediocre pancakes if you wanted to watch bad seasonal rom-coms all day.
“but it’s the middle of august,” you had countered. his response?
“so what?”
cut to right now, six movies over, and the two of you had accurately predicted the plot of every movie. as if it was hard. workaholic woman meets homely single dad. woman is resistant, but some christmas-related event brings them together. they kiss. the end.
you groaned. “as fun as this has been, i don’t know if i can handle waiting another hour and a half to see a heteronormative couple share a milk-toast kiss and calling it a christmas miracle again, ei.”
your boyfriend laughed out loud, flipping on his back and pulling you along with him. you easily settled you lower half in between his legs, leaning your head back against his collarbone and pressing a kiss to his jawline.
“i’m taking this as you agreeing?”
“yeah,” he smiled, rubbing a hand over your stomach and playing with your fingers with the other. “nap instead?”
“i thought you’d never ask.”

Red Crackle Week Day 4: AU
where gray didn't lose his memory and stayed the VILE agent after Carmen for a bit longer.
She steals and hacks the comms to talk to him sometimes. very careful to destroy the connection before she can be traced but its nice to check on him
Crackle doesn't have better luck than any other agent at catching her but he's getting used to hanging out with her like this instead. Even if that pinprick of regret is getting bigger.
He hasn't told her that his crackle rod doesn't go past stun anymore yet and, despite her ribbing, he keeps reminding her that he's competent enough to not get caught by any flatfoots in the first place.
She's pretty sure she can convince him to be a double agent before the week is out. He's pretty sure that VILE believes in the no loose end policy and would still apply to all loose ends.
He's not sure he can keep pretending he believes in that policy as wholeheartedly much longer though.

This series aims to depict Alina’s relationship with the Darkling in a way that highlights the horrors that unfold as the story progresses, as well as his detrimental impact on others as his legend lives on in the shadows of his victims’ minds.
