Here is my first piece of digital artwork I’ve ever posted, This is a photo of The Brain enjoying watching a Pinwheel/Catherine Wheel go off.
I took inspiration from what Maurice Lamarche (The voice of The Brain) said during him and Rob Paulsen’s (The voice of Pinky) Q&A panel at Dublin Comic Con, Maurice said he likes seeing fireworks at the Hollywood Bowl and his favourite are Pinwheels AKA Catherine Wheels And I decided to draw this on the Sketchbook App (I’ve traced The Brain from one of the Pinky And The Brain cartoons because I can’t draw cartoon characters without a guide to help) I hope you enjoy this artwork

If Pinky And The Brain tried to take over the world with fireworks
(This story is based on the answer that Rob Paulsen and Maurice Lamarche gave me to a question I had about “if Pinky & The Brain took over the world of fireworks. what would they do?” during a live signing event on Instagram on February 12th, 2022 and various other things they said to me while I was meeting them over 2 days at Dublin Comic Con from the 12-13th March 2022)
“Now Pinky, I have decided what would be tonight’s plan for world domination.” Said The Brain.
“Ooh, are you going to become a worker at McDonalds and serve Big Macs (Trademark) with your hypnotic powder?”
Brain bops him with a pencil.
“No Pinky, come to the blackboard and see.”
The Brain takes Pinky to the blackboard and points to some pictures he drew with a stick.
“Now, Pinky, as you probably already know, people all over the world love an amazing fireworks display. every year on special occasions like for example, The 4th Of July, People love to look up to the night sky and watch as millions of colorful sparks explode and dance across the sky, causing the whole audience to “Ooh and Aah in wonder and awe” at the spectacle that they make. and I am going to use this obsession to try and take over the world!"
"Gasp, so does that mean we will be trying to take over the world with explosions, bright lights, and pretty colors?" Asked Pinky excitedly.
“Yes, Pinky” Said The Brain.
“Wow, Brain! That sounds amazing! I love watching fireworks. They are so pretty, it’s so fun to stare up into the night sky and see all those colorful lights in the sky while listening to the sounds of whistling, crackling, popping, and exploding in the distance.” said Pinky happily.
“I know, Pinky, Here is what we will do, I have got a bunch of fireworks in the basement. left over from the 4th of July party we had last year, I will set them up in front of the lab, and when they get set off, they will be seen throughout the entire world. and then, everybody all over the world will have their necks craned, looking at the fireworks and everyone will not do anything else for like, I don’t know, five hours. and then you and me will sneak to the White House and then we will be able to take control of the whole of the United States and then the world!”
“Egad, Brain, that’s brilliant! but oh no, wait, um, how will you get all the pretty fireworks to be displayed all over the world?” Pinky asked.
“Well, I’ve got a duplicator machine so I can duplicate everything in the sky, including fireworks. that way everybody all over the world will see my beautiful display of fireworks. i will also use my duplicator machine to turn it to night all over the world so everyone can see my fireworks light up the night sky.”
“Now lets get to work, we have about 3 hours until I am scheduled to announce and launch the fireworks.” Said The Brain.
“Oh I am so excited! Whistle! Boom! Crackle! Pop! Wahahahahahaha! NARF!” Pinky said excitedly.
Pinky And Brain then set up the fireworks for their fireworks display, they had every type of firework that has ever existed.
Rockets, Roman Candles, Fountains, Catherine Wheels, Mines, Cakes, Barrages, Sparklers, you name it, they have it.
“Where should I put this firework rocket, Brain?” Asked Pinky.
“Over there Pinky, by the other rockets.” Said Brain.
“All right!” Said Pinky as he planted the rocket in the ground.
The Brain was using a computer and a firework launching system to program the fireworks.
“What are you doing, Brain?” Asked Pinky.
“I’m programming the display to make sure the fireworks are displayed in the night sky nicely and they don’t just start going off all at once.” Said Brain.
“Poit, that would be quite the show. remember the time on the 4th Of July in 2012, due to a technical fault, all the fireworks that were meant for the Big Bay Boom firework show in San Diego all went off at once? it was supposed to be a 17 minute firework display, but all 7,000 fireworks for the show unexpectedly went off in less than a minute. a video that was taken at the show later was uploaded to YouTube and it went viral. people started to call the ‘Big Bay Boom’ the ‘Big Bay Bust’. Watch the video.”
Pinky gave the Brain his iPad and showed him the video.
“Oh my goodness! all those fireworks went off in like, 30 seconds! what happened after that?” asked The Brain surprised.
“Well, Garden State Fireworks, the company behind that years show, apologized and promised to do a future show for free, according to Wikipedia.”
“And did they put on that ‘Future show’?” asked The Brain.
“I’m sure they did.” Said Pinky.
Once 3 hours passed, it was time for the fireworks to start.
“All right Pinky, Hook me up to every electronic thing in the world, so I can announce that my fireworks display is starting. and I mean Tablets , Computers, Phones, digital bus shelters, digital billboards, TVs, even Times Square for goodness sake. Because in a few minutes from now, the night sky, will, get, lit up, in loads of beautiful colors.” Said The Brain.
“Righty-o, Brain!” said Pinky as he turned to switch on the camera.
Then, all over the world, on all electronic devices, The Brain appeared.
“Greeting everyone all over the world. I am The Brain. and tonight, I would like for all of you to stop what you are doing and look up to the night sky and watch as the sky will light up with colors ranging from red to orange to yellow to green to blue to purple, well actually, loads of bright colors as I will launch an amazing fireworks display. it will be the best fireworks display that you have ever witnessed or experienced before. so get ready, as I, The Brain, will in a few seconds, bring you this wonderful sight.”
“Ok Pinky, start the countdown.” Said The Brain.
“Ok, Brain!” Said Pinky.
“10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1!” Said Pinky and The Brain as The Brain pressed a button on the firing system.
“Now everyone, look up to the sky and enjoy the most spectacular fireworks display this world has ever seen.” Said The Brain as he too looked up.
“And now let’s all look up and ‘Oooooh!’ and ‘Aaaaaah!’ as the fireworks start to burst into bright colors across the night sky.”
With that statement, The Brain cut the broadcast.
Pinky and Brain stood side by side watching as the fireworks exploded and lit up the sky.
“Narrrrrrrrrrf! isn’t it pretty, Brain?” Said Pinky as he jumped around in a circle.
“Yes, it’s very beautiful Pinky, it’s truly spectacular.” Replied Brain as he got on his computer and went onto YouTube.
“What are you doing on YouTube, Brain?” Asked Pinky.
“I’m looking at a 24/7 live cam of landmarks all over the world, look, you see that, everyone is looking in awe as hundreds upon thousands of colored lights begin to burst through the night sky and illuminate landmarks all over the world!” Said Brain.
“Now what do we do, Brain?” asked Pinky.
“What else. To the White House!” Yelled Brain as he poses as a firework in the shape of the American flag went off.
Due to the fact that ACME City was in California, it took Pinky And The Brain 3 hours to get all the way to Washington D.C.
The Brain had to stop several times because Pinky could not help stopping to look up at the fireworks.
“Ooooooooh! Aaaaaaaaaah! Pretty fireworks!” Awed Pinky.
The Brain bopped him.
“Pinky! this was the 10th time you stopped running to look at the fireworks. I don’t have time for this nonsense. I need to get to the White House right now.” Said The Brain.
“Sorry, Brain, i can’t help my obsession with fireworks. The fireworks are just so beautiful to look at.” Responded Pinky.
“Well, let’s go!” Shouted The Brain.
When they arrived, they went inside the White House and The Brain went out on to the balcony and looked up to the sky and saw the fireworks.
“Oooh! Look at the colorful fireworks, Brain! Everyone all over the world must be loving this beautiful fireworks display! NARF!” Said Pinky as he pointed at the fireworks above The Brain.
“Yeah, i suppose they are pretty aren’t they, Pinky, they’re like, really pretty.” Replied The Brain.
After looking at the fireworks for a few seconds, The Brain finally spoke again.
“Come on Pinky, we have no time to lose. I must send out another message to the entire world.”
Pinky went back up to look into the sky to look at the fireworks but immediately saw that there was something wrong.
“Um, Brain, you may wanna look in the sky.” Said Pinky.
The Brain looked up into the sky and saw that there were no more fireworks.
“WHAT! How?! Where are all of the fireworks?! I just watched them explode just moments ago!” Screamed Brain.
“I don’t know, Brain, one moment the fireworks were lighting up the night sky in lots of beautiful colors, and then a few minutes later, the fireworks are nowhere to be seen. I think you might have set the fireworks duration to the wrong duration” Said Pinky.
“That cannot be! That is it! The show has been cancelled!!! My plan has failed once again.” Said The Brain.
“It’s ok, Brain. hopefully you can organize another firework display soon.” Said Pinky. “At least we had fun watching the fireworks.”
“Yeah, the fireworks were really amazing.” Commented The Brain.
“Come, Pinky, We must return to ACME City and go back to the lab to plan for tomorrow night.”
“Why, Brain, What are we gonna do tomorrow night?”
“The same thing we do every night, Pinky. Try to take over the world!”
