"I've lived in the gilded sector all my life." Veirl answered dryly. "It's not that special as one would make it out. It's just gilded, but there's no added value to something being gilded unless you value gold. While gold is an element, there are more components needed to make something worth while with gold. Chemicals, technology.. But it isn't technology. It's just gold." She slowed down. "And parties. Gold attracts lots and lots of dress parties it appears..." She shook her head and continued on her notes.

Veirl nodded and took down in notes Ouro's hallucination.
And really, Ouro was changing the subject off their eyes. Veirl was honestly okay with that as it didn't seem like Bula could do anything with that information anyway, and Veirl didn't care to answer. She'd rather her goggle remain on, in fact.
"All magic can be explained through science." Veirl reminded Ouro. "Certainly no one practices the arcane unless they're discovering scientific properties of what they are doing."
Drink Away the Sirens
"M’from the Lightweaver’s domain, so my eyes are just kind’a natural. I’unno where I got the green, probably from my father." She shrugged a bit once more before seeing that the drink had came, or was it there before? Either way she took the tankard and chugged it this time. "Sadly I haven’t seen them since I was born. My family is of the Anarchist though. S’don’t get to thinkin’ about anything." She said, waving her finger in a ‘no no’ type manner. She finally set down her cup and crossed her legs, tapping her foot on the ground.
Bula squinted her eyes to glance over Ouro, then over to Veirl. “It’s kind’a hard to see in this lighting for my or I’d ask you two about yer color. It’s fine though.” She grinned a bit, the mechanics in her wings whirring once again.

Veirl wobbled back to her seat and slouched over it. She started taking more notes on being drunk. "Ima scientist." She corrected. "I love science." A silly grin spread across her face. "And, right now.. I'm drunk."
Her brows then pressed together. "Can I fly when I'm drunk?" The science continues!

Veirl finished scribbling whatever it was that she was writing down and then flung herself off her chair and stumbled over to Bula. She stood beside her, holding the notebook to her face, completely interrupting the current conversation. "This is the equation of flying," She motioned. "I even drew a graph. And down here, it's the requirements of going to 40mph, depending on the weight it's carrying. And here..." She drew to a really drunken doodle. "Is what I know from the mechanics inside of wings, and how they're powered and how they work. Now, there is an ideal shape for wings to meet the least resistance and still be able to fly high and quickly, and here is my hypothesis as to what it must be..." She pointed to an equation.
The drunk wildclaw had to hold onto Bula's arm for stability. "And that's what I know about wings."
Drink Away the Sirens
Quirking an eyebrow up, she soon crossed her arms once more and sat up straight. “I ain’t no lady mister.” She grinned just a tad bit before putting her arm up and put her hand on the built up arm muscle. “I’m a lean, mean, workin’ machine.” Bula cheered to herself, before putting her arms back down and kicking her legs back and forth. “I just thought that it was a pretty nice time to come down for a drink, though i rarely drink.” She laughed just a tad bit, glancing over at the other. She kind of wished the other stayed in with the small group, though she didn’t bother to mess with the work that she was doing.
Her eyes fell back to the male before glancing down at his wings. “Those are some pretty nice wings y’got there sir, looks like you need a bit of an upgrade though. Got a few dents ‘n’ scratches.” She attemped to reach out to fiddle with parts of the wings, her own wings twitching as they made whirring noises. “Y’see, I fix peoples wings and uh, also add a little special to people who are very kind towards me, if y’know what I mean.” She nudged the guy a bit and gave him an eyebrow wiggle.

Veirl wobbled back to her booth and pulled out her notebook. On a separate sheet she began writing an equation and drawing diagrams, letting the two talk, or maybe even flirt, without her for a while as she tried to get her numbers right.
Drink Away the Sirens
Bula crossed her arms just a tad bit before letting out a small raspberry. “You’re not fun.” She sassed back, grabbing a chair towards them. Welp. Bula don’t be rude, they didn’t even invite you to sit with them. Nope there she goes. She plopped down just a bit before. “Well mister man guy, What ‘bout you? Or are you in the ‘no fun allowed’ zone as well.” She crossed her legs and arms neatly placing her gloves in her lap as she took another drink of her stuff.
"And y’know, I thought you looked like a challenge, the only people in my engineering group are just complete booores~" She pouted again, sticking her tongue out in reaction to her own words.

"Pfff, I'm fine." Veirl declared, pushing away his hand. "I'm just drunk." The wildclaw then brought her attention to the laughing girl. "Tundra... By the.. look of things, goggles, black stains on gloves... A mechanic or engionier.. by her question, and wings on goggles, expert on wings." Veirl observed and mumble. "In conclusion, don't take a bet you can't win. You know more about wings..."
She was then a bit put out. "Not a fun question."
Drink Away the Sirens
Soon enough Bula bursted into a fit of laughter at the fact that the other was basically shitfaced drunk, covering her mouth realizing that she had been a bit loud just then. She kept a grin on her face though as her tail thumped the table in rhythm with the music that was in her head, Alright. Stop being a creeper, Bula. Get up.
Bula got up and waddled her way over there, leaning on the bar table over there. “Here’s a question:” She paused, thinkingi as she pursed her lips lightly. “How much do you know about the creations of wings? I’ll betchya 20 that you don’t know as much as myself.” Bula grinned widely, she had a strange accent, people could understand her well but it had a hint of something, most likely coming from the whole tundra life and what not.

"It was a test!" Veirl snickered. "Subject Ouro forgets my hypothesis a sentence after I've told him I'd test it!" she pushed her empty plate away. "Thaaat's.. goood..." She slipped out of her chair again, seemingly unable to stay still, and wobbled with her tail acting as a third leg now. "Go ahead. Go ahead. Ask me questions! That's what I'm good at! Questions. And answers. And. Stuff. Ask me questions! I'm good, I'm good!" She declared. There was a podid staring at her from the other side of the room but she couldn't stop snickering. "The brain is the bees knees!" She whispered enthusiastically to herself.

"Oh." She lifted her head and looked to the window. "I wonder what happened. There sounds like a lot of them." Hm.
"Well regardless... Confirming hallucinations seem to work. I hope. Although, I could have just planted the idea in your head." Veirl snickered. "I'll test this hypothesis on you in a little bit.... By the way, if the Arcanist did originally effect you... Then," She got out of her seat and peered up to his face. "Maybe.. I can help. Mr. Ouros, yer skin is flaking off." She grinned and motioned to his face. Then she lost her balance and fell back into her seat, smiling jovially.
Drink Away the Sirens
Bula nearly let out a laugh at the fact that the other out of the two had been been talking about so much along the lines of technology evolving and just in general science, placing an elbow on the table before asking the bar tender for some fries and another drink, letting out a small hum. These two seemed interesting nonetheless, tapping a finger on the wood before taking a chug of the drink when it arrived. Bula was questioning if she should make an entrance in this conversation, maybe mentioning something about the functions of the newer wings and how well they work compaired to a few years back, though for right now she’d just sit and wait. See where this conversation went.
Soon her mind got a little bit fuzzy though, despite her being a hard person to get drunk it seems like the drink that she was given was pretty intense, she stuffed a few fries in her mouth and began to hum a little tune to herself.

Veirl leaned against the bar and giggled, eating her wings bit by bit. "I probably can't." She announced. "The powder is.. Is... too... I dunno. I can't figure out how it works... Chemical reactions? I don't know.. Can't.. Can't figure it out! But! That's not a problem because... these effects could just go away on their own, you know?" She grinned down at her wings and stuffed more into her mouth. Delicious, delicious meat. "But if the effects do go away, you'll still have your dragon."
She chuckled and drank more of her cocktail. "Isn't life amazing?! All of these amazing discoveries.. and.. new things.. and.. TECHNOLOGY. Cutting edge of the world, Mr. Ouro. We are on the cutting edge of everything... and science... Soon everyone... in the spires will feel as powerful as you, Mr. Ouro. And we can all have a further understanding of everything."
Science!
"Of course," She laughed. "I'm hearing.. really.. really loud sirens and they're only getting louder. Mr. Ouro, please confirm if they are real!"
Drink Away the Sirens
Usually Bula would be interested in even entering the speakeasy for the fact that she really never thought about grabbing a few drinks, she’d been more busy on her wings and her job than the whole fun with drinking stuff. Today felt a bit strange to her, she decided to take a bit of the day off for now. Entering the building she strutted her way to the bar and ordered something strong, taking a sip as her face twisted into a sour look.
Ah. That’s why she didn’t like drinking so much. The bitter taste of the majority of the drinks didn’t really suit her taste, soon enough though she downed the drink in the fact that Bula didn’t really care for the taste, but the effects it did to a person. Shaking her head and putting the glass down she spotted the two conversing about some type of spiders and guns, quirking her eyebrow upwards just a tad bit as she placed her goggles to her eyes to avoid them noticing that she was looking at them and quietly observed.

The questions seemed to flash by so quickly, one after another.
"Yeah, Address, lemme write it down-"
"Ten more weapons-? Why, that's the number of the remaining deities! I'd love to work on that-!"
"Tarantula?" She quickly pulled off her hood and started brushing her cheeks and shaking her head. "Tarantula?" The tipsy scientist stood up and brushed her clothes. Looking around her feet, she saw no spider. Her eyes slowly went back to Ouro and she gave a big smile. "There's no spider." She flopped back onto the stool, however now she was paranoidly looking around herself routinely, checking for bugs.
She leaned in towards Ouro and grinned. "Dragons go away but spiders appear?" She asked, and took hold of her drink. "It's not a cure then... But I could probably cure you..... and me... If we have long term effects..." She hummed and took a sip, no longer tasting the alcohol. Every once in a while she brushed her arms, removing any venomous insect that was probably not crawling up them.

Veirl straightened up her back and grinned. She was so proud of her invention, and there it goes, making somebody else's life seem better. "Of course, that's an illusion," Though, she reminded both herself and her drinking partner. "As the Arcanist can't make you do anything..." But she digressed.
She experimentally made herself a cocktail and took a drink. It was far easier than the first two sips she had! And then, when the food came, began chow downing on that!
"M'mm, for now on, always tell me the truth when I ask you questions." She took a bite and washed it down. Her chest was feeling so warm, and oddly good. "I can't record accurate information if I'm lied to, and therefore, it throws off my calculations." She took another sip. "..The more one drinks, the less one can taste the alcohol it seems. At least with cranberry juice." She kept going. "I'm almost done with my project anyway. I feel a little good. Do you feel a little good?" Veirl scratched down notes on her notebook about the good feeling.

"Yes, I eat." Veirl answered, completely non-offended and incurious by the question. "I eat meat." Not too helpful of an answer, but it was something.
The scientist eyed the offered drink, picked it up and smelt it like the first. And, like the first, she took back a drink and made a rather large cringe. She reached for her notebook and pen, setting her bag down on the floor afterwords. "Gotta.. write this down.." She remarked, scribbling on her experience.
"Different types of alcahol, still strong burning sensation, and fowl taste." She then looked up to Ouro and flipped to another page. "Subject Ouro no longer agitated, and now acting with what seems like concern and..." She looked back up at Ouro. "Is what you say you're behaving right now friendly? And do you have an explanation for your friendliness? I'm quite curious. It is very unusual behaviour. Could it have been caused by Arcanist?"

Veirl looked from the drink to him and smelt it. It was strong and made her head reel back. "Really? Why this one? Wouldn't you suggest the one you like to somebody who has never tried it before?" She asked, studying the drink some more before taking a sip.
The liquid tasted fowl, and it burned her throat all the way down, finally resting into her stomach and warming her up from the inside like fire. She had heard of this! But to experience it was something else! She shook her head and squinched her eyes up real tight. "Wow. I wasn't.. as prepared as I hoped!"

Drink Away the Sirens
When safely in the Speakeasy, Veirl steadied herself and took a look around, finally letting go of Mr. Ouro's arm. "So this is a speakeasy?" She asked aloud. "It looks better than what I expect out of lower middle spire. Although, how do you get illegal drinks when the owner is not here? Do other people sell illegal drinks? I wonder." She approached the bar, her hand on her messenger bag, ready to pull out a notebook.

Something didn't set right with Veirl. It might have been that her subject lied to her about hallucinations. It might have been that the arcanist was still in effect. Hell, she was still seeing dead bodies everywhere, moving shadows, and bugs. Mostly dead bodies though... Or, something about that room. The main room, where she found Mr. Ouro. Something just didn't settle well with her and it itched in the back of her mind like a mosquito bite on her back where she couldn't reach. It was troubling.
Most likely, tomorrow would be a clearer day, unless the effects last. Which she hoped they didn't; they didn't particularly bother her, just left the scientist a little unsure feeling. She stared at one of the dead bodies as she waited for Mr. Ouro.
What if... What if... this wasn't a hallucination.... It wasn't going away..... What if this was real. When the body opened their eyes, she lost interest. "Hallucination." she declared.

"Sociology," Veirl answered with a mutter. "Well, I suppose I could study people some.. or.. Well I've never drinken alcahol before! I could research the effects of alcahol! Yeah! I'll research that!" She grinned, quite pleased with herself! She had never been to a speakeasy before. And in the very least, she could study the effects of alcahol on others! Since it was illegal, this was a somewhat unique and very novel experience for the Wildclaw. "Yes, I like this idea!" She then grabbed her messenger bag and put all of her important files in it, as well as a camera and plenty of blank notes to write in. She could barely contain the excitement that began bubbling up in her! "Good to go! I should let Mr. Snap know I'm done for the night and will be going home." Veirl brushed past Ouro and out the lab's door.

Veirl grabbed his elbows, trying to steady the man. "You know, you really should remain seated. In fact, I would like to have you over for the night to make sure nothing happens to you. And for further research." She told him, trying to edge him back to his seat. Then she quickly made notes to herself outloud again, "Subject seems to be very agitated from an unknown source of distress." She looked back over to the table. "Subject declares that they are not drunk, but their readings indicate that or extreme exaution. Yet, subject Ouro suggests going out drinking... ...which he states quiets visual, and perhaps, audio hallucinations that he reports getting."
Her eyes went back to him, although, not meeting his face but instead, further examining his physique. "Of course I would love to make more of these. Their effects are absolutely fascinating, and would absolutely, definitely be the halmark of a breaking new era for technology." Her eyes finally flashed up to him. "The additional guns would help me better understand their abilities and what I can do with them if I could set them side by side and test every variable again and again. But we have just been subjugated to the power of the arcanist gun. You should be sleeping. And I should be doing science."
