Bird of Prey.
For some time now I have the impression of having dreams of "public" interest. I don't know when I said I agreed to put myself in service, or if it was the work of vision that I did, or?
So in this dream (and this is the 2nd or 3rd time I've done it, I don't think I'm able to accomplish everything, that's why it comes back). I am in a cave which is immense and which is in fact a kind of a gorge on the mountainside which rises in spirals, very wide, very marmoreal, grandiose, there are people who live on it, I don't understand exactly how / or what, but they represent eras, history, things to do, types of populations, they are representative. I am in these immense gorges, I think there is water down there. I advance.
I see (always somewhat by accident) someone from behind painting something on a canvas, I approach, it is a kind of bird taking flight, a bird of prey, which "comes out" of something hand, which rises uttering this characteristic cry of Buzzards when they hunt, the person's back is turned, but they have Native American features (I KNOW), and their painting suddenly comes "to life" and they transforms into this bird (while it flies away, while it rises very high with its wings) and I SUDDENLY realize that the bird is ME and that I have to chase away some humans. I never really know why I chase them, I don't know what they did, what I perceive of them, what I understand of them has no meaning and cannot be said in a discursive discourse. I believe the last batch of 3 people escaped. There were 2 who took the place of other humans, they "melted" into them and then pretended to be dead, but were they really dead? As for the third (the leader) he fainted into a wall.

If my decomposing carcass helps nourish the roots of a juniper tree or the wings of a vulture—that is immortality enough for me. And as much as anyone deserves.

Earth Day [2024]
i will sing about the mother of all,
the well-founded and eldest
who feeds all creatures as many as they are,
all that move on the trusty land, and all in the sea,
and all that fly, all these are fed from her wealth.
- faun, 'gaia' [homeric hymn 30]
Intermittent rain cancelled Earth Day's plant crime this year (digging up wild cherry suckers), but it was just dry enough to shuffle out into garden and snap some photos of previous heists.

(The source of the Word)
Give thanks for what you have received and do not mutter about what remains unused. What you took and carried away is your portion; but what remains is also your inheritance. What you could not receive immediately because of your weakness, receive it at other times thanks to your perseverance. Do not have the impudence to want to take at once what cannot be taken all at once, nor to shy away from what you could receive little by little.
St Ephrem (~ IVe century.)

Hiking - “I don’t like either the word or the thing. People ought to saunter in the mountains - not hike! Do you know the origin of that word ‘saunter?’ It’s a beautiful word. Away back in the Middle Ages people used to go on pilgrimages to the Holy Land, and when people in the villages through which they passed asked where they were going, they would reply, ‘A la sainte terre,’ ‘To the Holy Land.’ And so they became known as sainte-terre-ers or saunterers. Now these mountains are our Holy Land, and we ought to saunter through them reverently, not ‘hike’ through them.”
- John Muir
