at no point in kuro’s history has it ever been the kind of “sane” you’re implying. there have alwats been shippers, younger ones and older ones, on top of the content itself leaning towards heavier topics that people use in unsavory and dead dove ways.

stop trying to rewrite history kuro has always been a trashfire of a fandom for people who try and act all morally clean. just because fandom in general as tried to lean that way doesnt mean you can do that with something as deeply mired in filth as kuro.

keep lying to all the newcomers, all it’s going to do is turn them off and make them move on when they realize that this filth is not something they can just pretend isnt there. the entire fandom was built up on this, you quite literally cannot take it out lest you throw away the entire thing as a whole which you honestly can’t if you’re still trying to watch or follow any of the story.

it’s so pathetic how many people claim to be oldies but are only talking about it now that it’s in the public eye again meanwhile the “freaks” they decry so much are the ones who carried the fandom during the deadest era of content it’s been in.

The amount of people that just completely miss the point of Huey as a character especially by comparing him to Hal. Like kudos.

You can dislike him for what he did but disliking him cause hes not enough of a sweet oh so pure boy like Hal is the most boring thing. This is fucking Metal Gear not everyone is going to be as much of an untouched angel as Hal was, especially when you consider what actually went down with Huey.

It just pisses me off that people diminish both Hal and Huey that way. Hal is so much more than just this perfect little weird weeb people always portray him as its so boring.

One thing people absolutely do not comprehend about Huey is the "plagiarism" aspect and what actually happened vs what you're led to believe.

Only someone who did not know Granin and his connection with Huey would claim that Huey stole his designs from the Soviets. What Huey did was something both he and Granin planned on doing together under the circumstances that they could, however those circumstances did not come to pass and instead Huey made good on what they had already worked on together on his own.

The issue comes when you consider 1) the era this was set in and the absolutely blasphemous accusations that'd be thrown if it came out Huey worked with Granin and 2) Coldman purposefully giving Huey classified documents that he should not have access to and that call into question his contacts.

It wasnt that Huey stole anything, it was that he was put in a situation where under no reasonable circumstances could he have credited his collaborator and not been absolutely flamed. Regardless of what he did, he was pushed against a wall when Coldman gave him the concrete documents he had already well discussed and had already been promised by Granin.

To act like he was just going around stealing designs (and acting as though he did not contribute in great part to the concept of what makes a metal gear, a fully functional metal gear) is so absurd and it's literally just a low blow against him considering it was impossible for him to in good mind actually source his collaborators and inspirations as they truly were.

He shows remorse and says he had no excuse in Peacewalker but for 1) the documents he used being sealed is a pretty damn good excuse and 2) Big Boss, while wanting him to hold himself accountable for plagiarizing, understood it was for the best and that Huey's part now was to just not do so again and ideally, not get fooled like that again.

Its funny how the biased against him that kind of reading is because again, Metal Gears as they became most useful was a combination of Granin and his design that wouldnt have worked without each other. The reason Metal Gears become as much of a pain in the ass as they are logistically is because they make full use of both Granin and Huey's strength. Without one or the other what you get is something just not nearly as effective.

Seeing Huey hate always gives me so much whiplash cause like sure it’s fine to hate him but acting like he’s somehow the worst guy in the game is absolutely hilarious.

Like good job being no better than two craziest people in the game who the game makes clear have problems.

Surely hating on the guy who barely functions will somehow make for good revenge.

The biggest fuck you of all about it though is that the guy….clearly was trying to make amends before practically being forced out because of Kaz’s hate boner and in the end, partially because his departure, greatly weakening Big Boss’s overall strength.

Kaz is smart, Ocelot is smart. Ocelot himself hardly believes the story Kaz has made up because he knows how things went down in the cold war. A scientist, especially a metal gear making scientist is a rare find. You arent just going to pull a scientist out of a lab and have them be capable of making those things. Ocelot himself doubts that Huey knew what the inspection was. Kaz knows he couldnt have but with both Paz gone he can’t blame her, she’s already dead, for some reason he just completely side steps the idea that someone like Strangelove could have done it despite her circumstances during and after being far more convenient than Huey’s and it…not reallt making sense that he just casually treats her like that after his precious attitude.

Kaz knows Huey probably didnt plan for that shit but he okayed the inspection and he lived and didn’t “lose” anything so the entire thing has to be his fault.

Nevermind the very clear overstepping he’s doing once Skullface is dead and the horrible feelings the staff have once he’s trying to make them distrust each other. Nevermind the fact that it was pure chance that Huey was doing the same shit with the virus that Kaz was and that it was just convenient.

Nevermind the fact that’s he’s straight up a hypocrite in criticizing how the enemies you fight at times will use someone and then try and get rid of them.

People blindly follow him so much it’s sad especially when the game tries to tell you…not to do that and makes it clear something is off with him. Not from the start but as time goes on.

If Big Boss had let him in on what was going on at the time he would have royally screwed ir up cause the only reason DD is able to function at all is cause Ocelot is there.
