Yrra's hand quickly found Jade's, giving it a tight squeeze for reassurance.  She shot the guards an icy look.  Yes, they had never seen a human before.  Still, their audacity to just stare like that...Yrra had no problem reminding them of their place.  She pulled Jade a bit closer to her, wrapping her arm around her girlfriend's shoulders.  She hoped somehow, that would make Jade feel a bit safer.
"The Black Phoenix," Yrra said, slowly, as if getting a taste for the words.  "I should've known you had an ace up your sleeve, Laira." She gave Minori an appraising look, as if trying to gage the sort of warrior she was.  Her gaze seemed to have the same effect on Midori as it did the guards.  Yrra tried not to roll her eyes.  "I think Laira is quite capable of protecting herself.  I will follow her lead."

Yrra felt the corners of her mouth tug upwards into a small, amused smile.  It wasn't the time for this, at all.  "A mutant?" she asked, her voice curious, "That would imply that you've got a mutation, correct?  You look nothing like the mutants I've met before.  So...human."  She wondered if that would offend him.  She also cared very little about his feelings at the moment.  It was a simple observation.  "Regardless," Yrra said, tilting her head towards the shield "that is quite impressive."
The ring gave a pulse of energy, indicating that Jade required her lover's help.  Yrra clenched her hand into a fist.  "I will get Jade out, but then I am coming with you to deal with Larfleeze."  She shook her head, hoping that her companions would not see how truly angry she had become.  "I promised you his pelt, Thaal.  I intend to make good on that promise."  This was the side of Yrra that she preferred to keep hidden: the cold blooded warrior.  For so long she had kept it in check.  But now?  Larfleeze had taken something she loved.  Someone.  And put her in danger.  That was unforgivable.
Yrra tried, for the moment, to clear her head of rage.  She focused on Jade, letting the pure emotion of love filter through her.  "I've got a lock on Jade.  I can make a portal.  Carol, I know Hal is in there, too.  Could we combine forces, make a portal big enough for three?"
Paradise
At the sound of the new arrival, he returns the nod before glancing down at the humans now held back by Magneto’s own shield, “yes, for now this is all of us. It’s amusing how these humans think they can tell us what to do when they very clearly are not in charge here. Sad little things, they’ll only get themselves killed.” He turns to face the other two women and holds out a hand to them, “Star Sapphires, their rings are power by love.” Indicating to the pale skinned and black haired one, “this is Carol Ferris, queen of the Zamarons and the other,” he now indicates to the dark skinned, elf-eared one, “is Fatality. Former member of my Corps.”
Turning to face the Star Sapphires, “and this is Magneto, mutant leader” he refrains from saying of the Brotherhood, he is not sure how much is publicly known when it comes to the mutant and he would rather not accidentally let out unknown information. Clasping his hands and cracking his fingers he continues on speaking, “now while we did just speak about using the teleportation of the Star Sapphires to enter, it has come to my attention that a tunnel has also been drilled underground passing the dome. My proposition is this: the three of you use the violet light to enter and collect your beloveds while I enter through the tunnel and distract Larfleeze for a short while.”
Falling silent he glances at all of them, waiting to see what their input and thoughts are.

63. Cold Embrace
If you didn't know better, you'd think Jade was human.  Well, she is, but only as far as scientific purposes go.  If Jade truly was a human, she wouldn't be so cold.  At least, that's what Yrra thinks.  Not that she minds, but sometimes when she snuggles up to Jade in the middle of the night, the girl's cold form shocks her half-awake.  She feels compelled to warm the girl next to her, and pulls her closer as if she could warm her through sheer willpower.  Then she remembers who she's with, but doesn't move away.  Jade will sometimes let out a content sigh.  Yrra's learned to love it, love Jade for everything she is, especially the cold.  It's Jade.  It's normal for her.
Yrra tries to remember this as she cradles Jade's body in her arm, that she's cold normally, that she's not dead, she can't be dead. "Jade," Yrra calls to her, though she shows no signs of waking.  This isn't just cold, Yrra knows this, but she keeps trying to tell herself it's normal, that Jade is going to be just fine.  She cradles the girl closer to her, again trying to warm her, though this time, she really might be out of luck.

64. Frost
Yrra and Jade didn't actually need parkas, but Yrra decided not to complain.  Not when Jade looked so adorable with her fur lined hood framing her pretty face.
"It's so cold," Yrra says, her own voice slightly muffled by her scarf.  Winter is still new to her, though the cold is not.  There was never any frost on Xanshi, any snow or anything like it.  She looks up, marveling at the white flakes that fall from the sky.  From the corner of her eye, she sees Jade stick her tongue out and wander around like that for some time.  Yrra raises a quizzical eyebrow.
"You're supposed to catch the snowflakes on your tongue," Jade says.  Yrra shakes her head, pulling her girlfriend into a tight embrace.
"I have a better use for your tongue, Jade," Yrra says, making Jade laugh.  Yrra just shakes her head and gives her girlfriend a kiss.

at peace
The first thought that passes through Yrra's mind is "I am dead." But that doesn't seem possible, not if she's able to have that thought.  So then why does she see her mother?  Why can she hold her in her own arms, hear her deep words of condolences?  Wait-what?
"Mother, what is going on?"  Yrra asks, not leaving the embrace.
"You're healing, my love," she says, her voice echoing though Yrra's head.  Healing from...what?  Where is she?  What is going on?
"Yrra Cynril of Xanshi," a new voice says, "welcome to the Star Sapphire Corps."

friendship
"If you ask my opinion, Hal Jordan has alway been an idiot," Yrra says, punctuating her sentence with a forkful of salad.  Carol laughs, even though she really shouldn't.
"Don't say that!" she says, though her eyes still sparkle with good humor.  "He's got his good parts."
"I thought it was just the one?" Yrra pretends to ask, earning her a playful shove on the shoulder from Carol.  It's the first time in, well, a while, since the two have done this-just hung out, had lunch, gossiped.  Almost like they were two completely normal people.  It's always been easy to relate to Carol, but that's just one of her talents-she's a people person, she's sunny and fun to be around, whereas Yrra has always been brash and sullen.  Yet Carol always brightens her mood-she can see why the Zamarons almost picked her to be queen.
"So," Yrra asks, "how's Ethan?" Carol gives a wide, genuine smile.
"Really great," she replies.

He's keeping me very close. I'm in a bathroom and... it's way too hot, Yrra.
"Jade, you'll be okay.  Can you freeze the area?  Put some ice down?  Focus on your breathing, not on the heat."

Manhunts for dangerous criminals, plotting, cups of spiced tea-it felt like the lost years all over again.  Yrra gave the tea a quick sniff, double checking for any traces of poisons or sedatives.  Not that she didn't trust Laira, but Yrra had a habit of not drinking or eating anything she didn't prepare herself-you didn't know who could trust.  And these soldiers, well, they were Golden Dragons.  Not Laira's men.  Yrra took a careful sip, knowing she'd be able to detect any traces of poisons that way, if she couldn't tell by scent.
"So," Yrra said, placing the cup back onto it's saucer as gently as possible.  "Tell me about your allies."  The ring pulse at that exact moment, informing Yrra that she had a message from the Zamarons.  "Finally," Yrra said, causing her companions to give her a confused look.  "The Zamarons have contacted me, if you would excuse me."
"Message for: Star Sapphire Yrra Cynril, concerning missing Jaydian.  We cannot pinpoint his location.  However, based on his crimes, we can grant you permission to deal with him as you see fit."  Yrra was unsurprised by the answer, though she was in a different mindset now then when she had asked.  To kill Laira's brother-she knew her friend would never forgive her, regardless of context.  Yrra ran a hand through her hair, reentering Laira's chambers.  "So, what did I miss?"

Yrra... I-I was wrong. Larfleeze isn't- I can't leave.
"I-I'm not surprised, though I had hoped for better.  Don't worry Jade, Carol and I have figured out a way in.  I'll be with you before you know it."

//okay so quick summary: this takes place sometime in the future, but i don't want to give too much away. it's not in order with any of Jade's posts, but as more of them pop up we'll put them in the proper order.
“Let me make myself perfectly clear,” Yrra says.  She has completely obliterated the doors of Cadmus labs, and stands in their wreckage, a picture of poise.  “I want my girlfriend back.  Now.  So you can give her to me, or I can take her.”  Her ring glows, as if making a point.  “The choice is yours.”  For a moment, there is only silence, the guards of Cadmus standing with their guns raised, waiting for an order.  There is a click of someone’s shoes as they approach, wait, two sets of shoes.  A pair of heels and the unmistakable shuffle of-someone else.  Yrra can tell, from the way the ring starts to buzz, who approaches.  She breathes deeply, banishing the anxiety that is started to bubble in her stomach.  “You wanted to see her, and here she is!” says a voice.  Male.  Mocking.  Yrra tenses, but turns.
This is not her Jade.  Well, technically it is, but Yrra knows the second she looks into her girlfriend’s eyes that something has gone wrong.  She does not, however, give anyone the satisfaction of seeing her react.  She crosses her arms, still cool as ever.  “I see you went shopping without me, love.” Yrra says, as if she is just making a basic observation. “I like it.  Very tight, though.”  For the first time, she turns to the scientist, who seems to be unnerved by her calmness.  “You picked this for her?  I hope you didn’t dress her, or I’ll rip your throat out.”  Jade steps in front of him.  “You will do no such thing!” She snarls.  Yrra raises an eyebrow.  “So that’s what they did to you?”  She takes a step forward, offering out her hand.  Her ring glows.  “Come, Jade, let me help you.”  Jade’s fists turn to ice.  “I don’t need your help,” she says.  “You don’t want to hurt me, Jade.” Yrra says, her voice deceivingly calm.  Jade’s eyes narrow into a glare. “Yes,” she says, shooting Yrra with a large blast of ice, “I do.”
The blast is strong and sudden enough to knock Yrra back, she’s able to regain some semblance of balance but remains crouched, in case Jade chooses to shoot again.  The click of her heels is almost daunting, and so very un-Jade like that Yrra’s stomach jolts a bit.  The ring should be able to fix her, but if talking doesn’t work-well, Yrra always has been a warrior first.
"Are you really going to be able to fight me?" Jade asks.  It was odd, really, how different Jade looked from this angle.  Standing above Yrra like this, like she truly felt superior.  Yrra said nothing, her silence seeming to frustrate Jade further.  Jade dropped to her knees beside Yrra, roughly grabbing her jaw and forcing Yrra's gaze to meet her own.  Yrra remained impassive.  "What's the matter, Yrra?  Don't you love me anymore?  Aren't you supposed to save me with the power of love or some shit?"  She laughed at her own statment.  She went to stand, but Yrra's hand caught her wrist.  Jade lingered for a moment, struck by the touch.  "I do love you Jade," Yrra said, "but I am no fool." She rose before Jade could reply, flipping her onto her back in one swift motion.  Looks like it’s plan B, after all.  “I’m taking you home, Jade.” Yrra says, her eyes a brilliant pink. “Whether you want me to or not.”
