A blueprint for how to use our privilege in ways that produce a more positive outcome "I had hoped that [good people] would understand that law and order exist for the purpose of establishing justice and that when they fail in this purpose they become the dangerously structured dams that block the flow of social progress."* Go to Amazon
A must read for the times. There are few things that have made me quite as uncomfortable as the deep realization that I am steered by my unconscious biases. As a proudly self labeled “Ally”, I approached this book as something that would reinforce what I already knew - I was doing everything right. Wrong. Go to Amazon
A truly inspiring guide The Person You Mean to Be is an extraordinary book that helped me answer questions I’ve been grappling with for a long time. I am a true believer in equity, diversity and inclusion but have often found myself paralyzed by fear, discomfort and/or the sheer enormity of the problems facing the world. As hard as it is to admit, I have let too many opportunities slip by having done nothing to be a part of the solution. The Person You Mean to Be helped me stop beating myself up about it and showed me that there are things I can do each and every day to take meaningful action to fight injustice. It provided specific, tangible ways I can use my own privilege and power to make a difference. This book has changed the way I think and most importantly, it has changed the way I live my life. I am a total work in progress, but this book was the jumping off point I needed to activate my own growth mindset and set me on a path toward becoming meaningfully more active and impactful on the world around me. Go to Amazon
Great Book, Great Timing Dolly Chugh's analysis is spot on. Most human resource directors and company leaders that I interact with have made steps toward incorporating inclusiveness & diversity best practices into the workplace...yet sense something is still missing and don't know where to go from here. Go to Amazon
A wry, readable and research-based guide to turning our best intentions into meaningful acts POW! This book hit me between the eyes, in the heart and in the gut. Dr. Dolly Chugh combines wit and wisdom to help all of us notice - and start to SEE - the myriad inequalities, oppression and imbalances people experience. And then, with stories, hints, suggestions and questions, all grounded in current research, she teaches us how to LEARN and ACT in ways that can truly make a difference. This book's clear writing style and the author's personal perspective and sense of humor makes research on implicit bias accessible and actionable for people who want to combat prejudice in our work places, homes, social lives and online interactions. I grimaced in recognition of many of the mistakes I have made "with the best of intentions" in my interactions with people with different backgrounds/gender/sexuality/culture/race/religion/health situations than mine. Thankfully, I also found hope and encouragement from Dr. Chugh's guidance on how small shifts in understanding, listening, questioning and speaking can help me do better. I expect I will reread this book frequently as I learn to appreciate its lessons and try to continuously improve. "The Person You Mean to Be" should be mandatory reading for leaders, teachers, and HR professionals, and would be an engaging and provocative choice for any workplace or social book club. I highly recommend this book. Go to Amazon
Once-in-a-generation book Must Read Necessary reading!!! Excellent book full of research and great examples Inspiring and accessible guide to confront and change our world Provocative and Inspiring: Be the person YOU mean to be. Must read for all! A practical, engaging, and eye-opening book that applies to everyone An approachable voice that makes me want to be a better person Such A Smart Book

Designing Your Life: Product Management for Life Design This book is a good introduction to applying design thinking to life planning, with an emphasis on careers. The content below includes my interpretation of the book's chapters and key ideas. It is my intent that the review kindles your interest and spurs you on to buy the book. Go to Amazon
Find your road map I'm retired and not only has this book reenergized me, and encouraged me to go beyond myself in my thinking on what are the best things I can do with the rest of my life, but it has also validated several major steps I have taken to make my retirement satisfying to me. Go to Amazon
Well-reasoned, systematic, eminently practical, and joyful approach to navigating your career I don't typically make the time to write reviews on Amazon, but I felt compelled to do so here. Go to Amazon
Beginning My Design Journey I’ve never thought of myself as a designer in anyway but I knew I was stuck. When I came across this book popping up on my kindle screensaver (more than once) I was intrigued. As a health professional and a mom, I’ve encountered many different books, lectures, tools, etc aimed at improving one’s life/work. However, so many of them seem to require all or nothing options or quickly identifying and finding your “passion”. As a mom and wife with responsibilities I couldn’t just jump off a cliff with no safety net in sight so I could be happier or more fulfilled on a daily basis. This is the first guidance and way of thinking and approaching life that really resonating with me and felt real and doable. And I loved the emphasis on life as a work in progress that can be enjoyed in its many iterations — how different we might all feel if we remembered to enjoy the journey instead of assuming the happiness and contentment requires us to reach some predetermined and final destination. Go to Amazon
Action; if stuck, reframe and action again. I find the five mind-sets described in the book are quite powerful tools. In short, (1) To get unstuck, take progressive actionable steps. (2) To identify what these steps are, try to take different perspectives and come up with ideas for trying. The essence is: Action. If stuck, reframe and action again. Life/career is a journey, so focus more on the process instead of the final result. Go to Amazon
Great Book! This book is the first book I have read, of several, that has given me the guidance and encouragement to actually start building a life I will love living. I say "life" because the process outlined in the book applies to everything you do in moving forward in life. I am getting ready to turn 67 in 4 days. Until I read this book, I felt I had pretty much lived my life and was at a point in life when there was not much hope in trying to change things. I now have a completely new attitude and am excited about designing the years yhat await me. I have recommended this book to all my friends and family. You cannot help but be changed by the wisdom and proven success of its content. Its design principals should form the basis for a required course in every high school. P Go to Amazon
Just like every self help book - it is only as ... Just like every self help book - it is only as good as the motivation and commitment of the person reading it. Having said that -- it is one of the better books on getting into the right mindset to do the right things in life and focusing on what is important in life Go to Amazon
Really helped me figure out where to go next great book! Equivalent to their Youtube video You only get one -- make it count for you! On Time An essential book that helps you find direction! Knowledgeable A new and better twist on life design. Required Reading-Really!! Great read, easy to follow, practical

An engaging and thought provoking call for investment in further research My wife Ivy and I have been avid readers of Michael Pollan's previous articles and book-length works especially those involving healthful eating and the food industry. By way of background I am a forty-something surgeon and my wife is an author and blogger with MS who has on occasion had to cope with condition-related mood issues. Without having done much research into the psychedelics other than to ensure they are indeed medically safe (as this book discusses in more detail) a couple years back we participated in several overseas guided ayahuasca (a psychedelic plant mentioned in How to Change Your Mind) sessions. Our experiences as a couple participating both to obtain hoped-for medical benefits and for, in my case, the "betterment of well people" to quote Pollan's book have been discussed online and mirror the experiences described by Mr. Pollan and by the numerous academic professionals, researchers, and patients interviewed throughout this journalistic masterpiece. To describe this further is beyond the scope of my review but we can vouch that this book is one hundred percent serious journalism and that research investment into the study of psychedelics as medications for treatment resistant psychiatric conditions and as spiritual aids for the betterment of humanity is very much needed and is well underway as described in detail in Pollan's book. Go to Amazon
The defining book of the psychedelic renaissance This book is many things. It's entertaining to say the least. Pollan takes the heavily loaded topic of psychedelics (LSD and psilocybin) and analyzes it from the compelling perspective of a 63-year-old journalist who's "not at all sure he's ever had a single 'spiritually significant' experience." Every few pages, I stopped to wonder how this old guy (sorry, Mr. Pollan) is so much more fluent on the topic than me, a 25-year-old hippie vegan. Go to Amazon
An Amazing Book I was thrilled to learn that Michael Pollan was going to tackle the subject of psychedelics and the promising research being done by MAPS and Johns Hopkins, among others. I love his previous books. He is a skilled writer and does such a great job explaining complex topics. I got my copy one day early (thank you to Amazon's efficient delivery service). I am only partially through it, and so far it is fascinating. His recent appearance on Tim Ferriss' podcast was tremendous and is a great introduction to the book and his careful handling of the topic. The potential value for the use of psychedelics in mental health treatment must be fully explored. I hope this book helps further that exploration. Go to Amazon
Best review of this topic in decades Last night I finished reading Michael Pollan's latest book, How to Change Your Mind - What the New Science of Psychedelics Teaches Us About Consciousness, Dying, Addiction, Depression, and Transcendence (Penguin Press, 2018). I'd ordered the book pre-publication, so they sent it to me on the day of its release. I'd been happily anticipating the book as I've admired Pollan's previous works very much. His journalism has long dealt with 'Gaia-related' topics and his even-handed, well written and researched presentations have always included the aspects of conciousness at their core. I can unhesitatingly recommend this volume. He presents both a history of modern (1950-70s) 'psychedelic' research studies & explorations and a current report of the newly resumed studies in the many uses of entheogens. This includes both overviews of clinical studies, practices of 'shamanic traditions', and his own personal experiences. I'm sure you'd recognize the names of many of the principle players & circumstances he describes; old friends of psychedelic literature & exploration. Go to Amazon
Eh. Fantastic read A Must Read Life Changing Fascinating A Tepid Approach to a Radical Proposition New ideas about thinking and adapting Great book. Fascinating subject. Extremely well written. A detailed guide to the science, history, and experience of psychedelics

Just the Facts....AND Results! I had heard of the technique in several places, including Tim Ferris's 4 Hour Body. I read reviews of several similar books before making this purchase. The authors provide just enough of the science and theory along with great pictures of the exercises both at home and at the gym using machines. I use the machines and in 3 weeks, I lost 3" around my back. Every workout, I either use more weights or do more repetitions for each exercise EACH session. I highly recommend you download a free metronome app to your phone. I just did my first workout with the metronome and it helped me standardize the exercises even more. Of course, I'm a BIG FAN of working out only every 6 days! I also like that the book was not sensational...not ONE before and after picture...about two pictures of people who were not demonstrating the moves. I have never liked gyms or machine workouts, and now I'm hooked. I paid a trainer to show me how to use each machine and to determine the correct setting which I think was money well spent. Go to Amazon
We really like this book We have done the exercises now for 2 weeks. We are both 65 and we have been exercising regularly for 3 years now and these exercises were really difficult and we both felt the muscles for several days after. We really like this book. This is not easy exercises even though you might think it would be easy but it seems to be very effective. Thanks! Go to Amazon
Great new idea to me. Imagine exercising only once a week. I followed the exercise to the letter and used the recommended recipe for a nourishing drink to help muscles rebuild. Great way to exercise for us older people that don't go to gyms anymore. You can do everything easily at home. Go to Amazon

Well-written, heartfelt, hard to put down. From dreaming of Olympic gold to living the Olympic dream; from practicing her signature on the living room wall, to signing autographs for so many young fans with a similar vision as her own, Aly's journey to Olympic success is one of incredible determination, persistence, heartache, and triumph. But this book is not just about Aly overcoming doubts, both from people around her, and her own inner doubt—we are given an emotional tale chock-full (or should I say chalk full ;-) of heartfelt guidance and encouragement so eloquently intertwined within her story—how all people, no matter their age or what their story, can find happiness, compassion, and peace within themselves despite living in a world full of fierce judgment. A must read for anyone looking to create positive change. Go to Amazon
Thank You Aly! I didn't finish it yet but... it's great! It's really really great! Go to Amazon
Excellent book Hopefully Aly's story will encourage other girls to stand up for themselves and what's right. Especially interesting in light of all that's happened with the sexual abuse of gymnasts at all levels of the sport. It left me with a lot of questions as far as how USA Gymnastics treats their athletes. Bought it for my 11 year old niece who is taking gymnastics lessons, competing, and loves Aly Raisman Go to Amazon
Beautiful Athlete and Woman This book was excellent in every way. Aly was real, genuine, humble and totally honest in being vulnerable to her readers. I had no idea how hard gymnasts have to work to be at her level. I recommend this book to all as it has such a clear message of hope. Go to Amazon
Fierce Indeed! Aly writes a poignant tale of her rise to gymnastics and personal success. Gratitude and humility pour over the pages. The courage she displays while being vulnerable about her insecurities, fears and even survivorship of abuse is inspiring. Aly's passion and positive attitude serve as a reminder that our youth are our brightest asset for a better future! Go to Amazon
Highly recommended for any gymnastics fan This is one of the best gymnastics books I've read. Aly is honest and real in this book. It was refreshing to read an honest account of an Olympic gymnast's experience since so many of the other Olympic gymnasts' books are full of fluff and material that isn't believable. Go to Amazon
I recommend this book for people who like gymnastics and biographies This book is a five star book. I recommend this book for people who like gymnastics and biographies. Go to Amazon
Well written book with excellent background stories Well written book with excellent background stories. I have followed her career for years and learned new things about her life. She truly is a fierce competitor as well as a strong woman. Excellent role model for young girls. Go to Amazon
Aly's not just fierce but a damn great writer I love aly WOW that was an awesome book Five Stars Very helpful in many ways Four Stars Aly Raisman good book about Aly's life as a gymnast Best gymnastics memoir ever (and I've read about 40) Gold medal biography

What You Don't Know Can Really Hurt You! This important book provides an authoritative and unflattering account of how the US economy has been systematically ravaged by the undeclared “stealth war” that has been waged by China against the US. The author documents in excruciating detail how Chinese diplomats, with the skill of master magicians, employed deception and misdirection to manipulate US China foreign policy to its advantage for sixty-eight years. You will be disgusted and disheartened by the author’s detailed revelations of the mind-blowing incompetence of US China foreign policy through eight US presidential administrations—i.e., those of Nixon, Ford, Carter, Reagan, GHW Bush, Clinton, GW Bush, and Obama—none of which were able to rise above their own ignorance, preconceptions, and wishful thinking long enough to objectively assess the manifold dissimulations, duplicity, and subterfuge of the Chinese. Fortunately, submerged as he was in China foreign policy deliberations over the last half century, Pillsbury persevered, become fluent enough in Mandarin to cut through the fog of Chinese dissimulations, and finally exposed China’s Marathon quest for colonial world domination. Consequently, THE HUNDRED-YEAR MARATHON should be required reading for all U.S. politicians and government officials, as well as every patriotic U.S. citizen. Go to Amazon
It's hard to win when you don't know your competeing! I appreciated the author's perspective and willingness to be honest about his perspective and how it has changed and obviously been informed over the years. Having lived through, but not old enough to really have understood much of the political happenings of the 60's through the 80's this book gave me a new viewpoint to look through for today's international political happenings. I highly recommend this read to conservative and liberal thinkers alike. Mostly, I recommend it to people who take the time to stop and think. Go to Amazon
Enlightening information A picture of the Chinese challenge painted in an easily understood format. I was left with a feeling I understand now the challenge we face with the Chinese ascendancy and the challenge that present to American dominance of the commercial and military world order. A real challenge we have to recognize and commit to winning. Go to Amazon
Much to learn and unlearn 5 star rating for an author who has been there and done that. His insights derived from being a Chinese sympathizer to one who has unmasked their intentions are startling and impossible to refute. Go to Amazon
The problem is not Russia but China. This book should be read by everyone who thinks Russia is our main problem. Go to Amazon
A Must Read for Those Who Want to Understand China A must read for anyone who wants to understand the development and current status of China's relations with the United States and the rest of the world. An excellent review of the last 70 years of China's march to making itself the world's hegemon. Using the writings of the key thinkers and leaders of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) which have only been published in Chinese, Mr Pillsbury details the multiple decades of deception and political warfare by China in its Marathon strategy and how badly we have been misled. Go to Amazon
This is a must read! This book is a real eye opener. It reveals a completely different China. USA needs to wake up and quit assuming China is sold on capitalism. They are no where close to practicing capitalism. Also, they do not accept our ethical standards. Go to Amazon
Good read about the long-term political ambitions of China Good read about the long-term political ambitions of China. Towards the end of the book, the author meanders a little but I was satisfied overall with the book. Go to Amazon
The facts contained Everyone Needs to read It's not Russia, stupid. Read this book! so good. Very Informative. China Four Stars Paranoia Superb! This is a must read!

A must read for the sports fan, the coach, and the leader. The Captain Class is many different genres trying to fit into one book. On the one hand it is a serious and sober examination of sports dynasties and how they come to be. This is of course an impossible task undertake, but Sam Walker takes a very logical and serious look at the topic. It is also a primer for what makes something like a sports dynasty come alive and breathe and succeed. It is also a book on leadership and what makes a leader in the sports context. Go to Amazon
An incredibly well-written, astonishingly-well researched and compelling read, even (maybe, especially) for non-sports people. I am not a sports person. Period. My husband and/or son ritually explain the rules of each game to me at the beginning of every season, not because I can't remember them, but simply because it's information that I can't apply elsewhere, so poof, it disappears at season's end never to return except in the vaguest of recollections. If offsides meant the same thing in every sport, that would help. Also, shouldn't defense mean defending ownership of the ball? I realize that half of the readers of this review have stopped reading in sheer disgust by now, but I wanted to drive home the fact that... Go to Amazon
One of the Best Out There This is one of the best books I've read. I've worked as a teacher and coach for about a decade and have transitioned into the field of sport psychology over the last five years or so. With that, I do a lot of reading on different concepts within sports, coaching, sport psych, pop psych, etc. The concepts of culture and leadership have become big buzz topics in the sports world, and there is a lot of fluff out there. What I loved about this book is it fights through the fluff with years of intensive research on the world's greatest athletic teams of all time to provide a fantastic read incorporating stories, well-explained research, and substantive takeaways. It's outstanding and will be a great read for you if you're a coach, athlete, parent, or just a fan of sports. This will be one of those books that stands the test of time in the field of sports and coaching. Hope you give it a shot and enjoy! Go to Amazon
Best book I've read this year (& maybe last year Best book I've read this year (& maybe last year!). I read a LOT and this book was a paradigm shift for me. The idea of a "team captain" seems to be as relevant today as a "letterman jacket": everyone has one so it doesn't really carry any significance (& who would wear it now anyway?). Go to Amazon
Excellent A must read for any Coach Game changing when it comes to leading others. Great read showing the importance of captains to a team's ... Interesting perspective on management styles Thought provoking and compelling Interesting and entertaining Leadership book for the rest of us Leadership: mindset, by example & calculated risk ... A Dense Narrative Damages An Otherwise Great Story

top 3 cookbooks a guy ever needs. the second is anything from julia child and the third is how to stay alive in the woods (look em up.) Go to Amazon
Perfect Bought this for my boyfriend. I love it because I expected it to just have recipes but it also has info on what basic cooking utensils (knives, pans, etc.) you should have in your kitchen and other info for a beginner in the kitchen or someone stocking their first kitchen. Go to Amazon
His sister liked it so well Possibly the only cookbook you will need? Especially for a starter! So many helpful hints and cooking techniques along with delicious recipes! Bought one for a grandson who is "batching" for the first time! His sister liked it so well, that we got her one also! That did it, bought one for myself and grandson-in-law. We do like our food! Go to Amazon
Husband LOVES this book This has become our go to book for healthy meal ideas. We have tried many of the recipes and really can't say much that is negative. Surely some dishes are preferred over others, but we have enjoyed everything. We even made several of the recipes for visiting friends and family and they, in turn, were interested in getting their own copy of the book. Now we wish there was another book with MORE great recipes! Go to Amazon
Feedback was great. Many meals have been made and groceries bought ... Bought as a well wishes gift. Feedback was great. Many meals have been made and groceries bought because of this book!!!! Go to Amazon
So many delicious recipes This cookbook has so many great recipes. The organization is a little hectic at first glance but it's not too bad. This has helped to completely change my eating habits Go to Amazon
Very good book for a new cook. This book is exactly four star worthy. It has a lot of information on the equipment you need for your kitchen, information on recipes, how to cook basic meats, and covers a lot of categories. My only gripes is they don't list average preparation time for the meals as a lot of the "30 minute meals" actually take 45 minutes or more. And about 60% of the fast late night meals are different variations of stir fry. Otherwise its great, if these guys rushed out another book, I'd buy it immediately. Go to Amazon
10/10 Great book use it all the time Go to Amazon
Great recipes Five Stars Yeah baby Good book. Would be better if it was complete Make sure you have all the pages! Five Stars LOVE IT!! This is the perfect male cookbook Great Gift Idea

IS FLAX THE NEW WHEAT? Dr. Davis has succeeded in drawing attention to the dangers of wheat and the benefits of a low-carb diet beyond what I thought possible. He builds a convincing case against this new plant that he says shouldn't even be called "wheat," and he documents most of his arguments with supportive research. I was already avoiding most grains and decided to eliminate wheat after reading Wheat Belly. I have been following a low-carb lifestyle and writing about it for over 13 years, so it wasn't a radical change for me. Go to Amazon
More than recipes, excellent recap of reasons to avoid wheat:.Here's the rundown on the recipes and more. You don't need to have read the author's other books, including  Go to Amazon
Wheat Free for Me! I was blown away by the information in this book long before I got to the first recipe. More than a cookbook by far, "Wheat Belly Cookbook" is a combo of Dr. Davis' "Wheat Belly" and 150 of his recipes. I bought the original "Wheat Belly" for my T2 diabetic husband to read, and he's starting on it (against his will, because he's a die-hard bread fan). I'm not a hysteric, and I don't fall for every diet fad or rumor that I hear. If anything, I'm a skeptic. But the undeniable facts--the surge in obesity and diabetes among Americans since the 1960's--convinced me. If you're among the fortunate minority who can eat this modern, genetically engineered wheat and get away with it, I envy you. As for me and my family, we're going wheat free. Go to Amazon
Quite Unimpressed I am an avid subscriber to Dr. Davis' "Wheat Belly" way of life, but this cookbook was very disappointing. A few of the baked goods are pretty good (the almond flour biscuits and pizza crust (after cutting the oil in half - it was DRIPPING with oil as written)), but I have tried 10-15 of the entrees and soups, and have been disappointed with pretty much every one. I honestly find myself wondering almost every time whether Dr. Davis could possibly have actually made and tried these recipes himself, because it seems unbelievable that someone would publish them after actually trying them. They often sound really great on paper, with flavorful and healthy ingredients - but somehow the ingredient proportions / flavors are always off - from watery, tasteless "shrimp bisque" to incredibly bland Parmesan chicken . . . Of course it's possible that there are some good ones that I haven't tried yet, but I am probably not going to bother with any more at this point. Go to Amazon
Arrived quickly. Educational The Concept Five Stars A must have for your Wheat Belly book collection. Just. So. Disappointed. At Last real gluten, low carb free help. great Book To Die For Muffins Five Stars

Enjoyed them both Here's what you need to know about StrengthsFinder 2.0: Go to Amazon
It’s assessment based with code for online test. The concept is excellent, and the eventual assessments I received is spot on. The actual meat is extremely useful. However... Go to Amazon
Full Access is another $90 This book comes with an access code so the reader can take the test online. However, the test only delivers the top-five traits the user scores in. A few other helpful reports are available as well, with the Strength Insights and Action-Planning Guide being the most in-depth. The catch? It costs another $90 to gain access to the report that details where the user ranks in all 34 areas. No thanks. I'm not that curious. Had this been stated in the book description, I would not have bought it. Go to Amazon
It really does nothing but have you go on line and answer a survey that takes very little time and based on your answers comes back to your five greatest strengths. The book is so incredibly accurate that ... This book is quite simplistic and valuable. When I returned to college as an adult this book was a requirement in one of my business classes. It really does nothing but have you go on line and answer a survey that takes very little time and based on your answers comes back to your five greatest strengths. The book is so incredibly accurate that based on one of my strengths it told me I am probably the type of person who collects baseball cards, which I have done for over 40 years. There wasn't a single question about cards in the survey. My wife and I have since bought each of our children one so that they could take the survey before they finished high school in hopes that it might help steer them towards a career that although they might not know it could be something they are actually quite interested in and could do quite well. Much better then having them figure that out in there third year of college when they decide they are majoring in the career field. Highly recommend this book to anyone with high school students, or even themselves. How well it will completely analyze you is absolutely amazing and the book clearly explains each of your strengths to help provide you with an insight to yourself. Well worth the money!!!! Go to Amazon
DON'T BUY USED!!! My review at this time is not reflective of the content as I have not read it through. The book was recommended by a well known life and relationship coach that I am using. Go to Amazon
A good starting point... I liked the survey and being able to take a look at the results, HOWEVER, you only get five of your 34 and that only goes so far. The resources you get when you take the online test are basically the same information that you get in the book. And then they send you a lot of emails to buy more stuff and take advantage of coaching, etc. I'd love to, but I don't know that it's worth it to spend hundreds of dollars on all the extras. Without seeing tangible results, it's hard to justify going down the rabbit hole on this one. Go to Amazon
Great Waste of time/Money waste of time and money Don't buy get the Ebook! Get a new hardback instead. Four Stars Highly recommend this book Great book and self analysis, but costly and out of reach for so many No Access Code Arrived just as advertised. My book didn't have a code included. How do I get one?

A Book That Is Big on Hype but Short on Lessons. I really wanted to like this book. I love the concept of it. I can see it's potential. But this book does not really teach you much about the concepts. It plays like a very long advertising similar to a get rich scheme. Where you get little snippets here and there to keep you interested but at the end of day, not really knowing much about how to apply these concepts because the author primarily gives you "success stories" of these concepts being used. Little on the "how". Go to Amazon
A different way to look at water, and never do you have to get your feet wet. Bottom Line First: Tristan Gooleys’ How to Read Water is a mostly entertaining introduction to what is for other people, in other times and places frequently a matter of life and death. Readers of How to Read Water are most likely people like me, arm chair adventurers with a curious mind for what is an unusual idea for a book. How to Read is not the one book to take with you if you are to navigate the Islands of the Pacific or survive along the frozen coastlines in the far north or south. If you are traveling to these places, preferably in some comfort, and want to have a taste of how to keep it simple, Tristan Gooley is your man. Go to Amazon
I read Gooley's "Lost Art of Reading Nature's Signs" which I loved. It is informative and entertaining Only partway through, but I'm thoroughly enjoying it. I pre-ordered this book based on reviews from Britain. While waiting for the US release, I read Gooley's "Lost Art of Reading Nature's Signs" which I loved. It is informative and entertaining, covering a wide variety of topics from wild places like Borneo, to cities. I was then really looking forward to "How to Read Water" but was unsure if an entire book on one topic would be as riveting. Halfway through and I can honestly say, it is. I'm torn between wanting to read more and more, to wanting to read and reread a section deeply and see if I can find examples. Many examples can be found far from oceans or large bodies of water, so this is not just a book for people on shorelines. The author's knowledge, excitement and joy of learning and teaching new things really comes through in his writing. Go to Amazon
Disappointed If you've spent considerable time around, in, or on water, many of the most useful concepts in this book are going to be super obvious to you, and a complete bore. Go to Amazon

Amazingly helpful book. After many many months of post nasal drip, throat clearing, then coughing, and hoarseness, even losing my voice occasionally, chest pain and aspirating saliva and pieces of food, and at one point coughing blood, (requiring chest x -Ray and endoscopy) all of which I treated with mucous reducing medication, antihistamines, saline nose drops, Alvuterol, cold medications and so on, It was suggested to me that GERD might be the cause of my afflictions. I ordered this book, and followed all the guidelines (still do). Within TWO DAYS my symptoms began to abate. And in one week I was a symptomatic. I knew I had GERD along with a hiatal hernia, but I had no idea these could be the source of all my problems. I have never suffered the traditional heartburn symptoms, and so I assumed I had allergies and other issues I didn't understand,, Go to Amazon
Reflux Repair: Wisdom & Solutions I have just finished reading Dr. Koufman’s Acid Reflux Diet book and I urge all fellow sufferers to take this miraculous journey. Her latest book is the capstone to her other two instructional reference volumes: Dropping Acid (2010) with recipes and The Chronic Cough Enigma (2014), that explore the causes and treatment of GERD and respiratory reflux or, respectively, gastroesophageal and laryngopharyngeal reflux. These three beautifully written solutions will save lives while paving an important new direction for the ENT and esophageal-scoping medical community still lost in the delusion of their own addiction to pharmaceuticals as cures for reflux disease. Game Changer! On display in my dental office reception room. I am a dentist. Silent Reflux is the bane of patients. It flies under the radar, because there is no heartburn, but it causes sensitive teeth, enamel loss, dentin loss, and contributes to breathing disordered sleep, fragmented sleep and UARS (Upper Airway Resistance Syndrome). Go to Amazon
No pictures - Questionable recipes I was really disappointed in this book. It’s a really cheap cookbook. It’s longer than it is wide, which would make it difficult to keep it open to the proper page while you’re trying to cook. There are ZERO pictures. Not a single one. Go to Amazon
Four Stars Five Stars useful information but recipe portion is subpar in aspects Five Stars Unbelievable results Informative. Four Stars Worth it Four Stars recommend to anyone with reflux problems

What more? What more can I really add to all the wonderful things that have already been written about this great book. I discovered Ketogenic Dieting in mid February of this year. I spent more than two weeks watching between 20 and 25 hours on youtube about this subject, and read many articles both pro, and con. Go to Amazon
GREAT Resource book I have been doing keto for a year know. I've read a ton of information about keto and listen to keto poscaat as well. This is book is well written and is such a great resource book! She explains the ketogenic way of eating very well, provides 3 different paths to take to be successful and it has a ton of recipes. It's like getting 2 books in one....an informational book and a cook book! I initially bought the kindle version but loved it so much that I also bought the printed version! This is excellent for beginners as well as experiences ketogenic dieters! Go to Amazon
Plant-full, low-carb/high-fat, intuitive eating... This book is AMAZING. The Keto Diet is the HEALTHY way to do low-carb, high fat. And, this book has EVERYTHING you need to get started. Go to Amazon
I’ve tried them all...BUT THIS ONE WORKS!!!! This book has become my bible. I’m in my mid sixties and my weight gain hit me hard. I’ve tried every diet there is but instead of dieting now...I just eat a certain way. Who knew fat was good for you! Now I eat and truly enjoy my food. I don’t eat just chicken breast anymore...I GET TO EAT DARK MEAT! Avacados...go for it. The weight is dropping and I’m never hungry. I can go to any restaurant and find the right food to eat. Do I order pasta at an Italian restaurant...NO...I’ll order lamb chops, a steak, fish.Do I fall off sometimes...sure I do. But it’s so easy to pick right back up. I’ve lost 10lbs and can’t be happier because I’m truly enjoying food again. Just remember...slow and easy wins the race. Thank you Leanne for changing my life. Go to Amazon
I like the book I like the book, but the ingredient lists are very daunting with many obscure hard to find things listed. She keeps talking about not wanting to “count calories or macros” due to stress, but it’s stressful just thinking about the grocery list. Go to Amazon
Dairy Free Keto?! Very disappointed that this is a dairy free book. The description of the book doesn’t mention that anywhere, so now I’m returning it. One of the things this book claims is to take away restrictions of other Keto plans, but not eating dairy is the worst case restriction for me. They should make it very clear that these recipes are dairy free!! Go to Amazon
I have NO cravings like I used to have Has a lot of recipes that sound delicious. I give it a 4 instead of a 5 because she suggests a LOT of very expensive ingredients - seriously, I cannot afford to spend $9 a dozen for eggs but she claims you won't get any of the health benefits of this way of eating if you don't eat pasture raised eggs and grass fed beef. Not everyone can afford to spend $200 or $300 a week on groceries for just one person. In the 2 weeks since I started to eat this way, I've lost 5 pounds and my blood sugar readings have come way down (I'm diabetic). I have NO cravings like I used to have. The foods are very satisfying and you're never hungry. Go to Amazon
Not a good Ketogenics starter guide It's really a 3.5 star book for me. I am newer to Ketogenics. I wanted a book to introduce and help set me in the right direction. It's very detailed, and almost presents too much information which makes it hard to sort through (for me). I would describe this as an Advanced Ketogenics read. The ingredients are very expensive and not all of them are easy to find. I found it overwhelming for someone who is just beginning their Keto journey. Maybe when I've been doing this for longer, and have a better feel for things I will come to appreciate this authors approach. Not sure I will come to appreciate all the recipes. Go to Amazon
Just another book. Not for a Newbie Five Stars Not a beginners read. Prompt delivery all good Makes Sense Great info and recipes. So much information! Love the detail. Thanks Leanne. Five Stars

Very good book, but pricey I actually learned so much from this book! I don't know if it's due to the previous courses I had in statistics, but somehow Dr. Jackson made the analyses and formulas understandable and this is important because once your "understand" when, why, and how to use a particular analysis (from sampling to beta level calculation), you'll be better able to support internal and possibly external validity, thus strengthening your research to withstand scrutiny from peer review. This book was VERY helpful to me in my quantitative design course because the my online degree program does not "teach" you much at all; you are left to learn the material on your own... and you better be able to apply what you've taught yourself because your research will depend on it! They call this type of pedagogy "instruction through feedback". I loathe it and love at the same time because it forces you to think and it prepares you for actual research in the real world. Anyway, I wish I had this book for my first statistics course; though I did well, I'm pretty sure I would have had an easier time "doing well". This book is one of the few books that actually gives meaningful examples and they're not all medical statistics examples. Go to Amazon
Hmmm.. This was a required text for two Statistics classes at my university with one being a continuation of another. The book is easy to read, but I really hate the way it is organized and the way it gives examples. I wish the examples were more clear-cut and had their own section separate from the paragraph text so that they were easier to find and look at whenever need be. Having to go back and search for that one example in that one paragraph is quite tedious. I also wish it had even more examples. However, the book is much easier to understand than most statistic-based or math-based textbooks. I think I would prefer this textbook to any other, if that counts for anything. Go to Amazon
Very well written. Instead of stuffing data down your ... Very well written. Instead of stuffing data down your throat in an effort to get you to comprehend statistical concepts, the author makes a smooth and effective presentation as she makes deep concepts digestible. She has done an exceptional job. Go to Amazon
Not enough examples I have used this for my undergraduate Research and Stats course (in psychology), and I am not satisfied. I am no great shakes at math, so any statistics book would be a struggle, but I have used at least two other stats books and they have helped me more than this one. The explanations are adequate but they go on interminably with very few practical examples. A book like this should have a practical example after every new concept. Statistics is difficult enough without having to wade through never-ending text. My apologies to the author who I am sure tried her best. Go to Amazon
A Great Book; Easy to Follow Over the past couple years I have found that Psychology text books are useful in academic settings, but not for people who just want to pick up the book for "just for fun" reading. The text "Research Methods and Statistics" is very beneficial if you are in a course that requires this specific text. One of the problems I have found with Psychology books is that they do not discuss topics fully, but in this specific text the author goes into depth to make sure that you know what you are discussing.
