i'm genuinely convinced at least one of the hermits is queer and closeted to their audience. imagine fostering a whole server of mostly male online creators throughout the 2010's who are that tolerant and queer-positive. cleo and later gem were probably a big influence, as well as the vocal allies such as joe, but i think there's at least one more person on their side

you know, with a lot of unexpected people coming into mcc i thought of the objectively funniest team up of all time: ren + martyn + stampylonghead aka martyn s freaking brother in law. i know he s semi retired but the idea makes me giggle

the whole concept of hc8 is actually really funny considering most hermitcraft lore is concentrated to like 2-3 hermits, only really more in instances of server wars and even then its not full-seriousness lore. and then suddenly theres a whole-server lore thing thats 100% srs
