The past two weekends i've been making fake makeup/perfume ads. ahhaha. I am SO busy with Childrens illustration now and I savor any moment i get free time.

it kinda depends honestly. I'm kinda terrible. I sketch and just come up with things as I gothat's usually how i come up with ideas.

Charlieo Vandenbergio!

So, a long time ago when I first started this project, Charlieo was one of the first people I attempted to illustrate. Unfortunately when i started the project I was a very busy person and the illustration i did of him ended up kinda falling to the back (this has happened to quite a few people that i've illustrated but havent posted). The other day i got an email from him telling me how much he liked my work. I was kind of floored honestly. ahahaha. I told him that i had tried to draw him in the past and then he said that he must have been hard to draw because of his hair. hahaha. 

I might have gotten a lot of the colors incorrect on this particular illustration. Sometimes when there's editing on a photo i can't really tell the true color of a piece of clothing. even though my intuition told me that he's probably wearing all black I decided that he was definitely wearing purple! Hahaha. Even though i don't think i did his look or him in a very canon way, i hope he likes it nonetheless. It always makes me kinda giddy when people i've been sorta stalking on lookbook randomly message me. hahaa. <3

Wow!   I did a commission a while back for Izzy Raja a few weeks ago for her friend Kate and her fiance as a house warming gift! I was so happy to read this email i got from her a few moments ago!! "She is absolutely ecstatic and in love with it! Lisa Mayhem of BeautifulMayhemTV

So, funny story about Lisa Mayhem! Some people who follow this blog may or may not know that I have a youtube page and that i'm soooomewhat popular within certain groups (wow that sounds really arrogant). I try pretty hard to not mix these two virtual worlds. Well one day Lisa commented on my boyfriend tag video and i checked out her youtube page an instantly subscribed. Later while i was combing through Lookbook for people to draw, I saw her! I was absolutely floored. ahhaa. Yay for internet 6 degrees of separation. 

Anywho, I love Lisa's looks! She has a very cool, edgy style that evokes a very 'witchy' feeling. She reminds me of Azealia Banks in a very very good way. What I absolutely love the most about this look is how she's accented a particular shade of blue consistently through her outfit. Her nails and her lipstick match. I'm a huge fan of really creative lipcolors and Lisa is great at working a very light, colorful look that most of us would stray away from but she wears perfectly. I've never been much of a fan of jerseys but she really works this jersey! Overall, this is a really great look. my eyes were instantly drawn to it and it was totally fun to illustrate!

Sophia Mayrhofer of A Lifetime of Memories

Today was a really good day for Lookbook! I logged in and instantly saw this look and fell in love. Probably because I'm really into knee high socks and denim right now. This is a very simple look, but it is quite adorable. I love her Romwe Detachable Collar probably the most of all. I have a slight obsession with collars in my illustrations I've noticed. All of the children i'm illustrating for this book have some sort of adorable vintage inspired collar. Also a huge fan of satchel bags in general!

Sophia's blog,  A Lifetime of Memories is truly a breath of fresh air! She takes loads of photos of her travels and they're all very tender. Each capturing a moment in time that feels almost voyeuristic in nature. Going through her blog you feel like you're traveling along with her. Not only are her photos very well taken but they're just very heartfelt and they make you smile. There aren't many photos of people hamming it up for the camera and I love that quite a bit. 

Side Notes::

i must apologize for not making a post last week!! I'm doing this children's Illustration gig and it's keeping me very busy. Unfortunately i cannot show any of the work i'm doing for this book (and omg it's so cute) so my page has been pretty stagnant. However-I thought I'd start doing illustrations in the style of the book I'm working on. :D Also, after making a huge announcement about animation, I'm starting to doubt that I'll be able to keep up with that. So it'll be animation AND Illustrations. I'll do them when i can!!

I've noticed that i have a bit of a weakness for this particular shade of yellow...and I"ve also noticed i have a weakness for fashionistas from Poland!

Igor is a young journalism student and a headstylist who has quite the eye for fashion. I love how he adapts clothing and wears and styles it in unique and interesting ways. Unlike a lot of lookbookers, you can go back and see him restyling certain pieces of his looks to reflect completely different feelings. The Zara coat featured in this look is used in a few of his previous looks and it's nice to see how styling can really change the effect a certain piece has on an overall outfit. 

This week i did a bit of an experiment. I wanted to do a dynamic hold mixed with a painting technique and see how it came out. I really like the result. I know i said i'd be doing a bunch of walk cycles, but i think i'd rather mix it up a bit. I have a few animation projets i'm bouncing on right now so stay tuned! Updates are every wednesday at 10 am pst!
