Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man radiating bi energy and saying that maybe relationships aren’t really for guys like him because he hasn’t been with anyone since Gwen and the aftermath offers so much Spideypool potential.

Spider-Man: You Can Never Go Home Again
So many things happened in No Way Home but the ending really puzzles me more than anything else. As those of you who have already seen the movie know, it ends with Peter Parker not being known or recognized by his friends, no Uncle Ben, no Aunt May, no further ties to the Avengers or the late Tony Stark most of all, no job and no home to go to (that explains the subtitle). Peter is left to pick up the pieces of his life by moving into a one bedroom apartment, picking up a shitty part time job just to make rent and deals with this frustration by crafting a new suit from scratch. Peter being in this situation may seem jarring at first but it gets better when you remeember that this potentially restores this current version of Spidey back to the vibes of the comic books. Peter no longer has a "call the Avengers" card to play. Anything he does from now own is of his own volition and the consequences will be met head-on, good or bad.
Tumblr media
This is very important and for long time fans, an almost vindication because now, Tom Holland’s Peter Parker must finally grow up and we can get into those classic Spidey stories (such as a proper Venom saga thanks to Tom Hardy’s Eddie Brock’s quick excursion to this universe) where Peter’s life was an everyday struggle just to maintain his sanity and sense of righteousness. However, there could be something more sinister (pun absolutely intended) at play; what if this was a slick way for Disney to write Spidey out of the MCU and allow Sony a new launching point to do their own thing with Holland’s Spidey for the next trilogy of movies?
Tumblr media
It’s no secret that SONY has wanted to go it’s own route with Spidey. This deal with Disney was only done to allow them the luxury and flex of having their work tied to Disney’s empire of superhero movie success. Sony was fine with Disney having Peter Parker as long as they received all profits from the movies and were allowed to make their own “Spider-Man Universe” with spin-offs of characters like Miles Morales (the only thing Spidey they’ve done right since Spider-Man 2), Morbius and Kraven The Hunter to show people that they still own the rights to Spidey. This deal nearly fell apart after the release of Far From Home and would have had it not been for a drunken Tom Holland crying his pretty eyes out over the phone to Sony execs to fix it. To add more interesting tidbits of information, during a Sony meeting, someone suggested they sell the rights to Spidey to Disney for a major profit. This was met with Amy Pascal tossing a sandwich at this person. The point I’m trying to make is that this is a shaky deal and has always been from the start and Sony’s work with Disney has only been for the profit.
Tumblr media
One has to wonder if Sony has something major in store by writing an ending that sees the entire MCU “forget” that Peter Parker ever existed. My theory is that this ending allows Sony and Disney to either A. Willingly part ways after major box office success, allowing Sony a fresh new Spidey with a road of opportunity ahead as Disney focuses on other aspects of the MARVEL universe or B. Strictly allow for a new run of Spidey films that will be mostly self-contained and re-establish the classic Spidey tropes and even those that have yet to be seen before you reunite Spidey with the Avengers as the Secret Wars loom. If Sony were to decide to not renew its deal with Disney, they could produce their own new Spidey trilogy with major crossover movie that would see Spider-Man cross paths with names like Venom, Kraven the Hunter and even classic baddies that have yet to be seen on film like the Hobgoblin, Black Cat, Alistair Smythe, The Spot or the legendary Chameleon. I’d much rather Spidey remain a part of the MCU. With Vincent D’Onofrio as the Kingpin returning and making his MCU debut in Hawkeye and Charlie Cox making his big screen debut as Matt Murdock/Daredevil in No Way Home, one must hope that the Spider-Man movies will be able to resemble the classic material whilst being a major part of Disney’s MCU.
Tumblr media
Tom Holland has shed doubt on playing Spidey past No Way Home but after both Amy Pascal and Kevin Feige laid those doubts to rest as the movie has come out, it’s clear that Tommy is our Spidey from now and into the future and I love his version of the classic character so much. Whether his future as Peter Parker will be strictly on Sony’s terms or continue to be within Disney’s MCU, one thing is certain; Spidey’s world has changed so much and it seems that he can never go home again but with the loss of your old home, comes a shot at making a new one. Let’s pray that things will remain steady and Peter Parker can remain in the MCU. Everywhere I turn, I see grown adults talking and tweeting about how much they love the fact that No Way Home reframed the entire Tom Holland trilogy, and that it gave each Spider-Man a chance to redeem himself in his own storyline, and 'wasn't it just so funny when the three of them were up on the scaffolding, talking like humans do, about human things?' And it really just reminds me that people sure do love their fanfiction, but only when it's written and directed by men with million-dollar budgets and not when its produced for free by women on the internet

Tobey and Andrew never called Tom “Kid”
I’m pretty sure they never referred to him ever as “Kid” when he was often called that by everyone else from Tony to Dr. Strange.
Tobey and Andrew know he is young, they were just as young when they started being Spider-man. They know how big of a responsibility it is, how much of a toll it takes, how dangerous it is. They would never refer to him as a kid with everything he goes through when wearing the suit. Not even as a means of being affectionate, it’s still calling him a child which they know he can’t be no matter how young he is if he is Spider-man. The name is Spider-man and not Spider-kid after all.

MCU Peter Parker’s Backstory
Since it’s now obvious MCU Spider-Man’s backstory is quite different from the classic version, and that the Homecoming trilogy actually served as an “origin story” of sorts to get the character to a similar place as his more traditional variants, I thought I’d compile my version of his personal history.
Richard and Mary Parker die in a plane crash, as they do in most versions of the story. Unlike in TASM, there is no foul play involved, and the crash is just a freak accident (this is open to change if more info becomes available in the future). Peter is about 2 years old at the time, so his memories of his parents are extremely faint. As far as he’s concerned, May and Ben are his mom and dad.
Yes, Ben does exist in the MCU, but he does not play his typical role. He and Peter are still very close, and Peter holds fond yet faded memories of his uncle. Ben is murdered by a carjacker when Peter is 7, around the time Tony Stark reveals his identity as Iron Man. He longs to be a superhero like Tony so he can save people like Uncle Ben from “the bad guys.” Peter is 8, almost 9, when Tony protects him at the 2010 Stark Expo (as retconned in Iron Man 2), which inflates his admiration for Iron Man to full-on hero worship. Losing Ben so young also explains his eagerness to find a father figure in Tony.
By the time Peter is bitten by the radioactive spider at 15, he has lived through the Battle of New York. He doesn’t need the tragic death of his uncle to inspire him to use his powers for unselfish causes. He grew up in a world of superheroes, and this is what he’s been waiting for his whole life. He remembers watching his Aunt May cry after Ben’s death, and now he has the chance to be like Iron Man and the other Avengers and protect innocent people like his aunt and uncle from experiencing that kind of pain. He’s thrilled to be Spider-Man.
It’s May (and Tony) who takes up the traditional “Uncle Ben” role in MCU Peter’s story. He was born in the New York City of the Avengers universe and raised by May Parker. It was always apparent to him he’d use his powers for good. But he still had to learn what those powers would cost.

Unbeknownst to Peter, Tony set up a college fund for him that would have become available when he enrolled in the school of his choice, ready to take him all the way to doctorate. Unfortunately, since no one can now remember who the fund was set aside for, it’s donated to Tony’s alma mater MIT as the Stark Futures Scholarship and awarded to one very deserving Miss Michelle Jones-Watson.

No Way Home Spoilers
Someone please write an AU where Dane DeHaan’s Harry Osborne comes with the other villains. That leaves Dafoe’s Norman with some delightful “he says he’s my son, but he doesn’t look like him, does that mean I still care about him?” Angst.
And tag me so I can see it, because Norman mentioned his son once in the whole movie, and I need more angst.

Ok I’m not sure how many of you noticed this while watching the movie, and I dont see anyone talking about it. But I noticed this IMMEDIATELY cuz i was desperately hoping they would do this. This song is literally a mashup of all three spider-men’s main themes. And it’s so gorgeous and beautiful and impactful and special and I just love it so much. This is Andrew and Tobey’s part and I’m just😫
They played this during the scene when Andrew’s spidey was talking to Max and Tobey’s was talking to Otto.

yeah, yeah, all three spidermen in one movie blah blah blah it’s amazing and cool i know! But…
can we talk about the fact that Peter lost all his loved ones at the age of what? 18? no one literally remembers him even the iron-spider suit/Edith (most likely). he has to get by on his own at such a young age.
Peter Parker lost everyone at the time span of 8 months, since Far From Home i believe takes place 8 months after and NWH picks up where they left off in FFH.

having to watch peter, who’s always been cheerful throughout the movies, shutting down and becoming numb to everything was so fucking sad. and yet at the end still choose to save the greater good at the cost of everything he’s known
