Hey, so not technically LMK but it is JTTW based so I thought I’d post it here. I’m writing a long form fanfic for JTTW if anyone is interested. This is the blog that I’m using to keep all my doodles and random thoughts related to the fanfic. You’re welcome to ask questions about it either here or over there.
Summary of the Story/Why
This Fanfic centers around Daiyu, a devotee of Xiwangmu, the Queen Mother of the West. At Guanyin's request, Xiwangmu sends Daiyu with Tripitaka since Daiyu is well versed in magic. Due to backstory reasons that I won't spoil, Daiyu has a tendency to be rather standoffish and pessimistic. Over the course of the Journey, she needs to learn to learn to trust her companions and to see the world in a new way.
So, why am I writing this?
Well, One, I just like Journey to the West and fanfic is fun. Two, given the symbolism that goes along with it, I want to explore the struggles and stuff that come from healing from trauma. I like JTTW but as I'm not Buddhist, the whole journey to enlightenment isn't exactly as impactful or personal to me so rather than focusing on Tripitaka and that bit, I'm choosing to add a character that I relate to more. So, rather than a journey to enlightenment, from this perspective, it becomes a journey to healing from trauma. I find exploring trauma in a fictional setting can be cathartic.

Do you have any Macaque HC for a fem!Reader who is a helpless romantic? (macaque is such a theater kid I feel like he would be over the top with every detail.)
He tries not to act like it but he is just as much of a sucker for this shit as you are, so when he finds out you like the same sappy romance he does, he is quietly so hyped.
When I tell you that this man pulls out all the stops, I am not kidding. You are not wrong when you assume he’d be super over the top, partially because he’s a theater kid but also in part because he does at times feel like he’s unworthy of you and feels the need to prove to himself and you that he is good to you. (He is but he feels insecure about it because he knows he can be angsty and difficult sometimes.)
Definitely reads and recites really flowery, romantic poetry to you. Especially when you two are cuddling or dancing.
He plans dates meticulously from the activity, the music, location and even the timing. His personal favorites are taking you somewhere quiet with an amazing view and just spending time with you.
Will smack the shit out of anyone who tries teasing him about ‘going soft’ for you and get pissed because he’s just offended that they’d imply that him loving you is embarrassing. Like, ‘shut up, you dumbass. I love my partner’.

may I request a silly little one shot where the reader tells their friends they gonna cut their long hair short and MK and Mei take a minute to dramatically say their goodbyes to the reader’s long, lovely locks? And the reader’s just sitting there mostly unfazed until Wukong overhears and bursts in like “You’re gonna what?!��� and they know he’s gonna do the same thing. Pigsy’s on he sidelines just watching on like wth is happening?
During one of your daily chatting with the gang at Pigsy’s after work. Unfortunately, this casual chatting turned into straight chaos as soon as something that was meant to be an off handed comment came out of your mouth.
“I’ve been thinking of cutting my hair…”
“What?!” Mei screeched. She started dramatically weeping and petting your long hair. “Your poor, beautiful hair!”
“R.I.P.” MK whispered softly. Then to make a dramatic situation even more loud, Wukong, who hadn’t even been in the building for this whole conversation, slammed the door open.
“You’re gonna WHAT?!” He shouted. Wukong launches himself across the room and tackles you, knocking your chair over and subsequently sending you and Mei sprawling to the floor with him. Between his and Mei’s dramatic crying about you ‘chopping off your gorgeous hair’ as they put it, you looked almost as confused as Pigsy.
“Wukong, how long have you been outside?” You asked since he wasn’t inside a second ago but had clearly heard enough about your haircut to have a reaction.
“Don’t ask questions and answer mine!” He said as he shook his head. “Why would you do this?”
“Calm down and-” You start only to get cut off by Pigsy finally coming out of his confusion and shouting.
“GET OFF MY FLOOR AND STOP WRECKING MY SHOP!!!”

I feel like the demon boys all have some sort of disconnect about how human currency works.
Red Son just grew up with a ridiculous amount of money so has no scale for when things are stupidly expensive because he can usually afford it anyway.
Sun Wukong thinks giving green strips of paper value is stupid and finds nothing wrong with just taking what he needs and steals shit despite also having a ridiculous amount of money that he literally never uses. All of his money is in gold coins and old currency so it might be more hassle than it’s worth.
Macaque is the only one of these three who isn’t stupidly wealthy so he has more of a grasp on how money works and what’s reasonable to spend on things. Still thinks that putting value on something as flimsy as paper is pretty dumb but accepts it. Won’t haggle for things at a market ever. A huge pick pocket and will steal things from rude people out of spite.

hey may i request Sun Wukong with reader (gn +platonicly) that follows him around and want to hear his stories/how was his day and pretty much say almost nothing themselves till the point of bothering him withput meaning to ?
Honestly, it would be near impossible to annoy him like this. He loves telling stories though he will get suspicious if you refuse to answer any questions he has about yourself and might try to distance himself from you. If you just express that you feel uncomfortable or awkward about talking about yourself, he'll understand with some explaining and probably launch into another story. He'll make stuff up if he runs out of stories for whatever reason.

Macaque has always been a huge flirt with you. What confused you was that you’d never caught him flirting with anyone else but he did it so casually that you thought he couldn’t possibly be serious. You were in a mischievous mood today though and decided to test his interest.
“Hey, sugarplum, how’s the most beautiful person in the world doing?” Macaque said as he approached you.
“I don’t know, Macaque, how are you?” You said without looking up from what you were doing. … Silence. You looked up curious about his lack of response. He looked absolutely astonished. Catching you looking at him, he covered it in a nervous smile which quickly morphed into a cocky one.
“Wow,” he said, “I didn’t know you had it in you. Looks like you’ve got more bark than I thought.”
“Yeah, well, you can’t keep poking me and expect me not to bite back.” You tell him. Macaque grins.

You are in fact requesting correctly, unfortunately, this isn't going to be very long. Because I honestly don't think any of them would really care about how their S/O talks. Lavishing you in kisses as he slowly strips you of your clothes, checking your face to make sure you’re at no point uncomfortable. Smug bastard definitely smirks at your blush though. He pulls back to examine his work, from your flushed face to the various hickeys he’s left before he goes down again to start his way back up to your mouth.
Red Son
This is definitely something he does regularly because he practically worships you in the bedroom. He’s slow and meticulous where and how he kisses you as he slowly trails down your body. After his initial hesitance the first time he had sex with you at all, he quickly memorized your preferences. He’s not just trailing kiss but he’s touching you everywhere with his hands like he can't get enough of you which he really can't. He usually does this before going down on you.
Macaque
Definitely a lot rougher with this than the other two. His goal in trailing kisses all over you like this is to leave as many marks on you as possible. He loves just making your whole body scream that you’re his. He’s also pressing his body to yours to keep you as close as physically possible, muttering the word “mine” over and over again. Okay so my dumbass forgot this ask was for Macaque and Wukong so here's Macaque's part. Sorry!
Macaque
Honestly, when he realizes he has feelings for you, he avoids you for about a week. The man literally disappears.
When he finally comes to terms with his feelings, he cranks up the charm. Macaque’s biggest love languages are quality time and acts of service, so it follows that is mainly shows affection that way as well.
As such, he hangs around you a lot more often and offers to do stuff for you. Definitely uses his shadow magic to distract you while he sneaks a kiss on the cheek then disappears. You are usually left so confused as to what just happened.
He leaves small gifts around your house for you instead of giving them to you directly. Usually things that remind him of you or things he noticed you like.
He’s not super touchy so he’s more sneaky about getting you to smell like him, mostly convincing you to borrow his clothes. The look on Wukong’s face when you showed up on a cold day wearing Macaque’s scarf was priceless.
He won’t reject any affection you give him but he won’t usually initiate it. He does genuinely enjoy your touch but doesn’t wanna come off as pushy.
Shows up at your house all the time at random intervals. It takes a huge amount of trust for him to show you where he stays since he has a lot of enemies. He does show you after you two are officially into a relationship.
When he finally asks you out, it’s probably been a few months since he’s been courting you. If you say no, that’s the end of it and you probably don’t see him again. If you say yes, your first date is probably at home where he makes you dinner and basically spoils you all evening. He’ll only stay overnight if you ask him to since he doesn’t want to overstay his welcome.

Sun Wukong
As soon as he realizes he likes you romantically, the touchyness turns up to eleven. Seriously, unless you tell him to stop, he will be touching you at all times.
Gives lots of gifts from expensive things to random trinkets he found that he thought you’d like. He’s already a gremlin about shiny things and it’s so much worse when he becomes interested in you because he sees everything as a potential gift for you.
Lowkey kidnaps you a lot. He will at random points pick you up bridal style and take you to Flower Fruit Mountain. He will take you home when you ask but he’ll complain about it.
A lot of this behavior comes from demon instincts and he doesn't quite understand why he even does it. If you point it out or ask him about it, he kinda blankly stares at you for a minute before shrugging.
He “platonically” cuddles you a lot, trying to get you to smell like him. If you ever have to borrow clothes from him, he melts. It does make most demons think twice about messing with you given you smell like The Monkey King.
He tries to make Flower Fruit Mountain feel as much like home to you as he can, taking note of what makes you the most comfortable and adding them to his home and he will make a room for you there too.
He’s pretty open about his affection for you. He flirts a lot and asks you out pretty quickly. If you say no, he backs off for a bit before trying again. If you say yes, though, he’s over the moon.
He picks up food for you two because the man knows he can’t cook. He takes you to the most beautiful spot on Flower Fruit Mountain so you two can enjoy your food and watch the sunset.
He’ll take you home if that’s what you want and leave you with a kiss at the door, but he’d much prefer if you stayed with him. Not for anything dirty just for cuddles and to get as much time with you as possible before he has to take you home.
