Power doesn’t always corrupt, power always reveals.

The dark elf Deimos had completely underestimated the situation and just how powerful high elf Vannatir had become. He also had not realized how loyal the other fiends are to Vannatir.

Here's the good news about that second panel however! In the DnD campaign the golden bracelet turned out to be a very valuable arcane focus. (What a nice gift!)

All them hot elves. xD We went to the castle of half-orc fighter Ludek. After meeting his family we of course just had to see his room! These elf 'treasures' were such a funny detail of his bedroom.

It's always a risk to bring your Dungeons and Dragons party to your home haha. We definitely got to know the mighty Ludek a bit better by meeting his parents and seeing his room and everything!

Drawing these expressions was a lot of fun as well. Deepgnome Ijech all ☆____☆ and dark elf Deimos all ? And!! We finally get to see Ludek blush!

Pride is fragile. Or, what could possibly go wrong for the dark elf Deimos when you turn your high elf lover into a warlock patron? I wanted to experiment with shape design again for this drawing, so that I can show more of Deimos' psyche: Prideful yet starting to shatter.

The bright side of this situation being the warlock powers he gets from the high elf Vannatir.

And hey, Vannatir has feelings too! And he's never done anything wrong, ever.

Vannatir ending up trapped on the outerplanes? Arguably Deimos' fault. Vannatir returning as a powerful warlock patron? That was more of a collab of these two elves haha. Deimos was the one that carried out the ritual without knowing all the details. He just trusted Vannatir completely and wanted to save him.

The deep gnome bard Ijech in our DnD party is often seen by my dark elf Deimos as 'just a small gnome'. But often this small gnome is truly the leader and negotiator of our group the Grey Wardens.

Lately Ijech seemed to be a bit lost however. I suppose dying during the dragon fight and getting revived through magic does that to you. :( Ijech saw things when she died and has now started to question the legitimacy of the gods and she's seeking guidance elsewhere. So of course Deimos will provide~

Deimos started working on a new spell of his: Dream. I talked this plan over with the GM of our DnD campaign and he agreed to let me cast this spell on another partymember. When the night fell the GM asked everyone else to leave the table except for Ijech and Deimos.

I described that Ijech in her dreams wakes up in a luxurious mansion. Tall windows looking out over the vast dark elf city of Menzoberranzan. As Deimos approached her Ijech suddenly went: "Oh, it's the Deimos dream. Again." This took Deimos by surprise. Deimos: "Again? You dream about me more often?" Ijech: "Wait?! You're really here???!!"

The Dream went on with Deimos explaining that he needs Ijech's help. He needs to reach the famous city of magic: Ephelium.

Extra: Ijech's player later described the start of the scene so vividly saying: "It's a moment of terror when the GM turns to the drow player and just says 'Take it away'!"

I do wonder. Judging by your previous answered question about Deimos' train of thought...does he Actually care about Ludek? Does he like him? Is he just another useful pawn like Vannatir was in the past?

Ohh man, asking the hard hitting questions! For a while I actually did think that Deimos just sees Ludek as a useful pawn. ( ;____; ) Ludek is an incredibly strong Fighter and there have been battles where Ludek stepped in to protect Deimos specifically. Like a bodyguard. Deimos really fears losing that protection, so he is careful with Ludek's feelings.

And ya know, Ludek being a rich noble is also a nice way to get back to the luxurious lifestyle that Deimos is so used to. Very useful. >D

However, during the Denholm ball there was a sincerity towards Ludek that Deimos actually regretted afterwards. That night Deimos felt so much like himself again. And while he had already been planning to seduce Ludek, somehow the feeling became far too real by the time they were alone together. Maybe it's because Deimos felt safe that night?

Deimos has been in survival mode this entire campaign so far. Already in session 4 his warlock patron Vannatir found Deimos again and there was a real risk that Deimos was going to be whisked away from the party/campaign as a player character. But thankfully Deimos managed to convince Vannatir that his growth in powers together with this group will only benefit Vannatir as well. Vannatir agreed but did give Deimos a mission that will prove the party's capabilities when Deimos sees them as ready.

So I think the main problem is that Deimos can't afford to be sincere with Ludek. The two of them meeting now is just the worst timing.

The consequences of Deimos’ own decisions. Keeping everything about the warlock pact a secret from the Grey Wardens has given Deimos a lot of gifts, knowledge and advantages. However, for the first time in the DnD campaign the need to have someone truly on his side is becoming incredibly strong.

This is definitely a type of hopeless portrayal that Deimos himself would HATE. But I think it's always good to experiment a bit with how I tackle my drawings. ^^

Hi! I saw that you once sold some of your artwork in a zine/book. Do you think you might ever make more copies of that or make another one with some of your newer stuff too?

I am working on a volume 2 actually! :D When I finish that then I will also make reprints of volume 1 as well. Then the full story of this ongoing DnD campaign can be read that way. ♥

To be honest, Deimos just figures he's too proud to ask for help. But I think deep down he's actually scared that the Grey Wardens won't help him after all. So making it their problem is a better solution in comparison. It sure is one hell of a way to go about it D! x'D

Listen I'm not privy to whatever goes on in ur sessions but I AM really intrigued in the soap opera that is Deimos's life, and watching him make horrible decisions regarding his relationships is both entertaining and funny

Okay let me start with: this message is amazing thank you! xD ♥ I am going to try and break down Deimos' thought process a bit but BOY do I actually agree with you. xD

From Deimos' perspective he thinks only 2 things can happen right now:

Vannatir doesn't care as much as expected and that's a good thing to know! Deimos knows he will be hurt for a bit but at least he can then pick up the pieces of his life again. He then also gets to avoid Vannatir's plan for him; Vannatir wants to bring Deimos to an eternal realm that Vannatir is creating. Deimos tried to be calm about it when this was mentioned a few sessions ago but he is mortified.

Vannatir does get angry and now that Ludek is involved it is indeed everyone else's problem as well. Deimos tried to keep the Grey Wardens away from all that was happening between him and Vannatir but he realized 'why though? Maybe I WANT this to be their problem as well.'

So Deimos only sees advantages to his new strategy. Deimos is also sort of starting to throw caution away ever since his snake familiar Fellthran turned out to be a spy for Vannatir. Deimos thinks Vannatir can't do as much as he threatens he can do now that Deimos is back on the material plane surrounded by capable partymembers. So /shrug/ he just goes for what brings him happiness and pride, he figures he's a free man.

I as the player am definitely a lot more worried. But who knows? Maybe Deimos is right in either of his 2 expected outcomes!

Finally letting Deimos and Ludek have such a moment was just omggggg!! I am so happy getting to draw these boys like this!

The whole DnD party was at a formal ball hosted by the noble Denholm family. The Denholm family is the human-side of (half-orc fighter) Ludek Denholm.

Deimos (dark elf warlock) had an amazing time. It was a night that finally again felt like how his life was supposed to be.

The night ended with Ludek asking Deimos "Are you ready for the main event?" Ludek then led Deimos to a secret hidden stairway, leading to a tower of Denholm castle. The two kissed. (AAAA)

The GM narrated that up in the tower a winged snake secretly looked on. A snake familiar with ties to Deimos' warlock patron.

It truly didn't take long for the snake familiar Fellthran to become a problem for my warlock Deimos. All Deimos was trying to do was to get information from Fellthran about our current enemies, but the snake stayed silent. Then all the other players were suddenly asked by the GM to leave the table.

The snake then activated some kind of dark magic. An arcane circle started spreading. I was then incredibly spooked that Vannatir himself appeared in Deimos' room. (!!!!) But Deimos tried to remain calm.

Deimos basically got a slap on the wrist from his warlock patron and was told to stop asking questions. Vannatir then added: "Leave all the strategizing to me."

The whole scene was really cool to me but so eerie! So in the drawing I played around a bit with this sense of Deimos feeling 'boxed in'.

POV you're trying to do an ability check in Dungeons and Dragons. Our DnD party can give each other a lot of buffs that can be added to your dice rolls.

Our tiefling cleric Nora and dark elf warlock Deimos both being able to cast the Guidance spell is often pretty funny to me. ❤❤ So I drew a little comic for it. Deimos just wants to show off, and he wants Nora to back off haha.

But of course Bardic inspiration is the best! 🎵

Omggg thank you so much!! Haha I'm having a lot of fun learning more and more about drawing. So I'm really happy that you think I'm good at it! That's so sweet! We (unfortunately) started our DnD campaign only weeks before the lockdown happened. Thankfully we managed to continue the DnD campaign by playing online. Those moments where we all played this story together amidst a lockdown really meant so much to me. So during the lockdown I decided to start drawing more. Now we're all around a table again and I am still so happy that I can keep on sharing this ongoing story here. ♥

I want to keep learning more about drawing so I can get the story and atmosphere across! Thank you all for being here!
