Nicole A; Nicole this was so powerful!! I don’t think there could be a better title than what you picked. It truly gives a basis for your message and it sticks the whole way through. I would have berg thought to put it in reverse but it worked so perfectly in this! It was visually pleasing but it also helped relay the message again. There is such a focus in today’s world of what people should look like but this really gives room for thought of what that means. The timing and pacing of the whole thing was very good it didn’t make me feel like I was watching something in reverse because it wasn’t so chaotic, this looks like you made it that from the beginning which is a very hard task to do. Overall I think everything worked out well this was such a good piece, thank you fro sharing!

Nicole R; What an amazing way to bring awareness to something that doesn’t get enough recognition! This was so beautifully executed from the simple nature of the background to the pen going out, wether that intentional or not I thought it help tie in the energy of this piece. It wasn’t too long and it wasn’t too short the timing was perfect. The repetition is used perfectly in this piece to help convey the message but to make it more intense and focused. This overall was very structured and thought out when it came to content but it didn’t look forced it looked exactly like something that could happen in you day to day life. Thanks for sharing!
I will only write in pen.
My senior year of high school, I developed the habit of erasing and rewriting what felt like everything I wrote down. There was no rhyme or reason to this, and I knew that, but I also knew that not acting out this behavior was just as stressful as acting it out (and it wasn’t something I was ready to work on at that point in time). Because this behavior was so exhausting and frustrating, I wasn’t sure how I would feel during this performance. I thought that I would be frustrated, as I so often was during my senior year, but instead, I felt as though I understood my own intentions in a better way.
youtube
My intention with this performance was always to show others the exhaustion that comes with compulsive behaviors, since it’s not uncommon to minimize both the emotional and physical effects of compulsive and repetitive behaviors. Oddly enough, I’ve dealt with compulsive, repetitive behaviors for as long as I can remember, but I don’t know how many times I’ve given myself breathing room and tried to be understanding with myself, instead of blaming myself (which results in nothing but more stress). My hope is that others can consider repetitive and compulsive behaviors in a more forgiving manner, whether it’s ourselves or others who are dealing with them.

Audrey; This was so cool to watch! There is no doubt that in songs I can notice a nice beat but being able to watch someone in the makes helps me appreciate it more. The virus has severely hurt the music industry due to the loss of shows but with that being said this shows just how you can change it up and still gain interest. By playing it back to add the new beats on you created this repetition that was needed for a performance art project because it allowed us to stay focused and really see a way someone might create their beats. I’s nice to see how you took something you loved to make this project its that passion that gets people.
youtube
Hello beautiful people!
I hope everyone is doing fine, staying busy and healthy in these tough times of social isolation. As you are all aware, the art world has been strongly affected by the corona crisis, a pandemic that’s been feeding off human lives to spread all over the globe. With this pandemic spreading around, the internet has become our main source of connecting with each other and the best way to share our knowledge and creativity.
My name is Audry Malize, an African American musician based in the Denver area. I have been a musician playing Drum-Sets for about 5 years, and having the opportunity to exhibit and share my talents with the communities around me. This is also something that has truly made me feel blessed and very important in this world. To promote social distancing, I decided to record myself making a Hip-Hop type of beat live for my Performance Art Project. I used a software known as “Ableton Live 10 suite”, A mini keyboard and a speaker as shown in the video. As far as my experience in making beats, I have only been making beats for about six month, and I’m still trying to master it. There is a lot for me to learn in the future and I am hoping to own my own music studio and become one of the best music producers in the future.
Thank you all for watching my video and remember to stay safe, healthy and wash those hands!

The Figure in the Mirror: who am i
For this project I went with an endurance piece, sitting in front of a mirror for an hour. As somebody who hates looking in mirrors this was a very hard and intensive thing to do especially for other people to see but I realized not only did I need it but its the best way to be real with others. I have always struggled with body images and anxiety in way where I just never thought this external body really reflected who I am. By looking at this mirror I had to come to terms with the fact that this who I am to others and not much can change that. A common concept that came up in this is that when you look in the mirror you cant help but touch your face and that is something I couldn’t stop doing. It wasn’t until I watched all the clips over that I realized I was moving pretty much the entire time. So this helped me realize the importance of grounding and that maybe looking in a mirror isn’t such a bad thing.

Grapefruit Exercises
A Piece For Orchestra
I am currently in the mountains so the nights are very cloudy but i thought it would be cool to showcase the snowflakes as stars. Counting snowflakes is a lot harder than expected but it helped me slow down & realize how special this moment was. I never knew i needed it but i did.
Tumblr media
Beat Piece
This is a video of one of my good friends heartbeat, at first I was very hesitant to ask such an odd favor but we both were as excited about it. After listening to it I came to find a special appreciation for the music inside of us as well as an appreciation of my friend because this is the very life source of his being.
Mirror Piece
This was a lot harder for me because every time we tried to look at each other seriously we just wanted to start laughing. I think it was the dynamic of our relationship that made it that way. When you are with your family there are just so many good memories being made you can’t help but feel joyous and this exercise helped me remember that as well as show just how special it is to see someone.

Intervention Project
For this project I really wanted to focus on the beauty that surrounds my neighborhood. When I moved to Denver I was so stoked to be living in Cap Hill because to an outsider it was the best place to be in the city. Since being here I have heard nothing but bad things about it saying that there really is no beauty to the neighborhood due to external forces. Although things are different I still believe this one of the most beautiful neighborhoods for the art, the culture, the diversity, if everyone just looked around for a minute longer it would be easy to see just how great this neighborhood is. (sorry everyone this is so late but the snow storm destroyed the stickers & i had to wait for new ones /.\ but thanks for looking!)

Wow!! This is so great I think the concept of this video is one a big risk but you excited it so perfectly. It wasn’t hard to listen to despite there being five reactions going on. I too love music deeply so I loved getting to hear what kind of music you are into and just how deeply it relates to your life as well as the other viewers. I could feel not just your appreciation but the others too! It made me want check her out but I also think it has to do with how perfectly the transitions were. This was very easy and nice to watch thank you for sharing a little bit of who you are and what you are into!!

Video Remix Project
You know how to find a song you love so much and you share it with someone and they don’t respond how you wish they did?
What is WRONG with them?
Music can so easily drive us to tears or to dance in our seats. Music videos, where the artist can emote their feelings for us to see, are even more moving as our reaction is only amplified when receiving their message and intention from more than one of our senses.
I love to sing and on that note, I went for my most favorite YouTube-famous singer, Yebba. It was through Yebba’s music and voice that moved me so greatly, I understood why people watching “reaction” videos. Before, I did not understand their appeal! Now, though, I really enjoy them when it’s a singer that I adore.
Reason being, when I find a song I just love so much that I want to share, music is subjective and those I share it with might not be as moved or shaken as I am. With reaction videos, it is the easy way to share that experience and almost, re-live your own.
I learned a lot through this process. It is very nitpicky, difficult business. But watching people react at the same time and have these shared experiences at the same time is really fun. You feel a connection, while knowing very little about them at all, you know they have felt something, just as you have.

@fljcl !!! This was so incredible oh my gosh by far my favorite project I have seen. I love anime but your brought it to a whole new level with your concept! The editing was spot on it truly felt like one piece, they all contributed to what it was you wanted to talk about. There were absolutely no errors in your video and it was just so interesting I wanted to keep watching it. The whole thing was thought provoking with the perfect mix of dark. I could go on and on about how good this was you killed it thank you for sharing!!
4D Video Remix

For this project I wanted to create a sort of vapor wave like video while also trying to tell a story. For the project I used all anime clips except for one. I wanted to create a story talking about losing oneself in the chaos of the modern world and what it feels like to look back at yourself and not remember who you were. Whether that be from a traumatic event that changes your life or just slowly becoming a new person. It is chaotic, violent and colorful showing how events change people in their lives. In the end though we can always know that our past selves will always be looking at us in the present, waiting to experience and live through what has made us who we are today and to not lose hope in our futures.

From your description I could definitely see how you are all of those things especially a musician through this project. It is so cool how you could take a beat and make into something like this, the repetition worked very well for you in this project. The transitions were clean and very well thought out, and there were no errors when it came to editing! This overall was a very clean video and I thank you for sharing your art!!

Module 2: Video Remix Final Project
I chose to do a video of Donald Trump because I thought it would be very interesting to make a video of Donald Trump’s speeches into a song and attract a lot of viewers. This video was made for a class project and I am intending not to receive any credit from it. I view my self as an artist, a musician, and very creative in many things. Making this video was very painfully challenging, and time consuming. I used a few of Trump’s video clips, a freestyle beat, and also used Ableton live to help me finish this project. I was also able to learn a lot making this video and I feel proud of my self completing this project. and lastly I hope you all enjoy this video!

I am so happy to see your final project!! The finishing product is amazing! I think by adding the anime scenes to your project it added more of an emphasis on the metaphysical aspect of your project! The scene and song choices really did help with understanding what it was you wanted us to convey. Your transitions were even better than before and I didn’t see any technical errors it was a well put together video! Thank you for sharing I enjoyed watching it!!
this is my submission. it is called “nephilim wings final (hero)” it is about a fictional character who is a nephilim, who is by his own nature hated and despised by humans. this story is in emotional and metaphysical emphasis. “The One Musical I Bet You’ve Never Heard Of” perfect title for a seamless video! I loved the look of your video it looked almost as if you record it as if you were watching it! The repetition of the word Hamilton helped add an extra sense of emphasis to the video. Due to the fact that it is theater I liked how dramatic the video was because it shined light on that musical aspect. Your transitions were great and I didn’t notice too many errors in your work. I could tell that this musical has an impact on you in some way or another so thank you for sharing that with us all!
Video Remix Project
This project actually  ended up taking a different direction than I thought. After watching my process videos I liked the idea of exploring the sensationalism of the musical Hamilton, rather than the content. Watching the video reminded me (abstractly) of living in 2015/16 when it felt like you couldn’t have a single conversation that didn’t involve the word “Hamilton.” Especially as a someone involved in theatre. That began to fade until this year when Hamilton became available on Disney+. I actually think is is even more popular now than it was when it first came out, because it is accessible to so many people. To me this project kind of is even more relevant now in the second wave of “Hamil-mania”

Video Remix Project
For this project I really wanted to focus on something I love and care about deeply. For me that is music before the pandemic I was always spending my time at shows both large scale as well as local. Since I have been reminiscing lately about those shows I have been watching all my favorite Audiotree’s and that’s when I realized how grateful I was to have them.
Audiotree Live Sessions are the concept of a show but all online so I wanted to focus on that but I also wanted shine some light on some of y favorite powerful women artists. From punk to R&B women in the music industry have always been overlooked it’s time we start to apperciate the beautiful women with powerful voices. These are a mix of Audiotree’s, NPR’s , and local radio station online shows that show just how powerful women in the music industry are, maybe even spark some apperciation for these women. Thanks for looking.

Video Remix - Summertime News
I wanted to focus on blending and paralleling current events with a symbolic song. My initial idea involved the use of many time periods. That concept was altered to fit the needs of finding the proper voices to complete the song. The song used, ‘Summertime’ by George Gershwin, from the opera ‘Porgy and Bess’. Although written by a white man, the song is sung by a black woman. The world did not have a summertime, rather one spent in quarantine. The song and clips bring together the continuous pain felt by the Black community; the loss of a summer, the excessive police brutality (focusing on attacks of reporters) and the disrespect of Black women.

Delta Sleep x Donnie Darko
I used this project as the perfect excuse to mix both my favorite song “Dustbusters” by Delta Sleep (check them out) and my favorite movie “Donnie Darko” written by Richard Kelly. In this song Delta samples Alan Watts “What If God Got Bored” which makes the song that much better and an even better fit for the movie. All art is subjective but this song makes me feel exactly like I did when I first saw the film Donnie Darko. I took many diffrent scenes from the movie and placed them in diffrent areas to make it flow better and more visually pleasing. If you haven’t seen this film and want to be aware there may be some spoilers.

Music video (exercise)
The song I chose was “Winter of Our Youth” by Bastille, and the visuals are from mxmtoon’s music video “Fever Dream”. I’m honestly not sure how intentional I was about this pairing, but the more I thought about it I realized the songs explore the same theme, but in different ways. “Fever Dream” is about exploring the future, while “Winter of our Youth” is about not being able to move on from the past. I think while those are two separate messages, there is an overlap between them, which made it pretty cool to put this video together.

Making a Gif was a lot harder than I thought. I was expecting this to be an easy assignment. However, I would love to make one with my art. I might still play around to see what else I can make.
I had created my very first gif through IMGFLIP which is an animated gif maker online. I do not have photoshop, so I found another website to create a Gif on.
Hope you enjoy!
