To help myself edit and to test the potential of self publishing this one, I ordered a proper printed copy of my book. I am currently marking it up excessively with edits, but I just have to say that it was unexpectedly THRILLING to see my book like this. I wrote this! A book! Wow.
And I’m happy with how the black and white printing makes the illustrations look! More than satisfactory. Still hoping for a publisher for this one, but if not, I’ll be able to do it justice!
Thanks for tolerating my constant book promotion the last month! It’s done now and behind us. I’m on to the next project.
Right now, I’m working on illustrating a book for a client, all of which is secret stuff. I’m also working on editing my chapter book, writing the sequel, and doing illustrations for the series! And lurking on the horizon is a new idea for a kids book about a frog that I’m probably going to foolishly start before finishing the 8 other project ideas I have.
And still doing an original gouache painting just for fun every month. Busy! Things are good. It’s hot here in the south. Ticks are the worst. Flowers are the best.
“Use your gifts and your talents to greatest possible effect while you can. Spread joy wherever possible. Laugh at jokes. Tell jokes. Make puns and bugger the embuggerances. Read books. Read my books. You might like them. You might find something else you like even more than them. Look for these things in life.
Question authority. Champion good causes. Speak out against injustice. Do not tolerate bullies or bigots or racists or anti-intellectuals or the narrow-minded. Use your education to challenge them. Broaden their perspectives. Make the world you interface with a happier place.
These are your choices. Choices you have been fortunate to have been given, so don’t waste them while you have them. Don’t look back in years to come and wish you had grasped a fleeting opportunity. Grasp it now with both hands, Live. Strive. Love.”
