the worst kind of social interaction you can have is when you don't know if you passed or failed it but you know you could have done better. like it was fine i guess but if someone shot me in the back of the head right now i wouldn't complain.

I’m in a position where the only explanation for underperforming in college is “my dad’s an alcoholic who, for the last month, was driving me insane to the point where I tried to kill myself and my mother wants me to drop out and work because she can’t escape the life that was imposed to her and now I’m her only way out of this situation” but I can’t say this to my professors because it’s none of ther business so I’ll just slowly lose every opportunity that was given to me because all of my life has been a farse and I’m not actually smart, I just wanted to impress my father, but after realizing he would hate me either way I gave up trying to be the best and now I can’t bring myself to be like I used to and I just feel incredibly stupid.
