sephgen arriving late to a meeting bc they spent too long on their early morning kissing
Genesis, for all his faults and arrogance, is the #1 person who could have very easily gotten Seph to tell Shinra to fuck off lmao
Sephiroth suddenly finds that being around Genesis is more appealing than wasting his time in boring old conference rooms reporting on recent casualties. Every time he tries to get up, Genesis just pulls him back down to the bed. Every time he mutters that maybe they really SHOULD get ready, Genesis tells him a few extra minutes wouldn't hurt.
They don't leave until four hours after the meeting is over. Sephiroth knows he SHOULD be panicking right now. But...he isn't. Not even when Hojo himself comes poking around to lecture him on his "responsibilities". The knowledge that Genesis is a certified powerhouse in his own right is oddly comforting. Were they to side with each other, Shinra's opposition wouldn't even be a threat. It's...novel. Soothing. Genesis makes him feel rebellious, oddly free.
Just a simple nudge in the right direction and Sephiroth might perhaps decide to expand that freedom. At least in the long run.

I understand why the change was made: Zack is fighting with the Buster Sword second half of the game.
But this ruins the whole scene. Cloud's words are the same as Zack's to Angeal, which is why Zack was able to return to his path.
